This a rare tractor around these parts, a 1973 Satoh that hasn't been ran since 2007. Petey has watched his Dad crank many old tractors so he got a head start on this one. It took a while, but it was exciting to hear it run.

My Sato had a Mitsubishi 4cyl gas. It was a smooth running little tractor. I bought it with a 60" Ford finish mower. Nice little combination. I wished I had a little loader for it. Sold it with my property. There was a parts dealer in MPLS that had parts for the engine. Fun to work on. 3 over 2 with live PTO. I don't remember if it had live hydraulics or not probably not.

About the same exact thing as a Case I.H. 284. Great tractors !

The old gas Satoh's had Mazda engines. Then they went to diesel engines with the Mitsubishi 2 banger around 1978

I am about to start rebuilding the same tractor just a few years newer. My first tractor bigger than a little JD lawn tractor. Both excited and nervous. Thanks for sharing as this helps. 🍻🤙

Wow! I wish we would have watched your video about 2 weeks ago 😅 We started up our Satoh s650g, she ran beautifully. Shut her off for a couple days... Went to start her and ended up with a bent push rod and stuck valves... Didn't think she had enough gas in the tank to cause any issues 🤦‍♀️ We drained the fuel tank and yuck... Definitely from old gas. Luckily we got her fixed and running!
