On July 11th 2015, Satoru Iwata (late Nintendo CEO) passed away aged 55 years. This video aims to pay tribute to Mr. Iwata, and his most memorable appearances over the years. R.I.P.
For the past few days, every social aspect of Nintendo came to a standstill to pay respects and celebrate what Iwata-San has contributed to the industry. He was an idol to many, both developers and gamers alike. And to see a display so beautiful and respectful was truly remarkable. May another revolutionary man or woman take his place and build upon the great things he has left us.
'Please understand' You where a great man. I, and my little brother loved you. And we still do. We hope you had a great life. Me and my brother are gona play Earthbound again. Maybe nintendo is going to change, but our hearts never will. We will miss you. May the Lord be with you. 55 years.. 55... its so young.. why now?! Why? God, why did you take him away from us?... I'm sure it was for the good. He is in a better place... We love you 'Please understand'
Even though he was practically swimming in one-ups from all the gold coins he'd collected in his life, sadly there is no "respawning" mechanic in real life... R.I.P. Mr.Iwata You WILL be missed.
2 days ago it was raining heavy here where i am. it lasted during all night and the interesting thing is that we're in the hot season so raining was not expected till next week plus i was having this vibe that something was off. It ended last night and like 4 hours before midnight, my sister comes to my room and tells me that Mr. Iwata pass away. Then i realize that rain that i was finding it off is just the world itself crying from the loss of this great man. R.I.P. Mr. Iwata, thank you for making great games as well showing us your passion of it. My condolences to the families, friends and co-workers of Mr. Iwata for such a great loss. Truly is always the good likable and humble people that leave this world to early, really not fair. =(
Starlight Blaze My cousin is so sick she doesn't even know she is real herself. Some doctors said that they should leave her to die.I know the sad feels :'(
Goodbye oh great god of Bananas. We shall miss your optimism... Your jokes... And your appreciation for all of your fans. Good bye Iwata. Please understand that you means so much to us. I hope havens body is ready for your arrival.
A man of great influence to the gaming industry has passed on from our world. May he forever be unforgotten, and honored for his work. R.I.P. Satoru Iwata
"In my mind, I'm a corporate president. In my mind, I'm a game developer. But in my heart, I'm a gamer." Thank you for everything, Mr. Iwata. Godspeed.
Welcome to World 2, Mr. Iwata. Congratulations on beating World 1. "Please take a look" "directly" down from heaven and know... We understand. Rest in Peace.
he may be gone, but his soul will live on forever in the games we play today that he has made, he was a big part of nintendo, by bringing us kirby, yoshi, earthbound, and etc, so he will always live on in all of the games that he has made for our enjoyment R.I.P
Thank you Mr.Iwata. If it wasn't for you I probably would've never played any Nintendo games, or video games at all. Nintendo is the company that got me into gaming. Without you running the company I would've never gotten into video games. Nintendo just won't be the same without you.
I never knew Mr.Iwata personally, but playing through some of the games that he helped develop, and seeing this tribute video with all of these things that he's done for the community and for gaming in general. I have to ask; why are we sad? Most of Mr.Iwata was a kind man, a man who knew that fun was all a matter of perspective. He was the president and CEO of a multi-billion dollar company, but we can tell it was never about the money to him. It was about the fun. So, again... I have to ask; why are we sad? When, we know that what Mr.Iwata wanted to do was make us smile, have fun, and maybe forget the worries we had and spend it with the mascots we grew up to love. We shouldn't be sad to hear that he's passed, but instead be glad with all the memories he's given to us over our lives, and I would appreciate it if you all... just for a moment joined in with a small song, that I think will sum it up... and remember. "No crying until the end." -Mother "Take a melody, simple as can be Give it some words and sweet harmony raise your voices, all day long now love grows strong now" Sing a melody, of love, oh love."
Iwata Satoru thank you so much for the memories that shaped my childhood. may you reach peace and happiness in the after life. you were a CEO, you were also a GAME DEVELOPER, But you are always a GAMER!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH iwata san!!!
Hearing this news while seeing the smile and thumbs up at the end makes me really feel like crying :( R.I.P Satoru Iwata. I am really grateful of living in this generation while he was here.
I looked up to Iwata, he's always been a big role model to me since I was little. So it pains me to hear he lost his battle with cancer. But what he left behind was not only a huge and important legacy, but a chance for us to do what he has in the form of Mario maker. Thank you Iwata, for "directing" gaming into a new era. Rest in Peace
I remember when I was young (3 or 4) when my grandmother gave me her old NES. I don't remember much, but I do remover wondering "Who made such good games?" when I was 7 or 8. That's when I learned of Mr. Iwata. Now, looking back on that... It feels so great.
RIP Iwata, you might have been taken away from us too soon but we will never forget you, please understand that we miss you very much. From, A long time Nintendo enthusiast.
I never knew Iwata died until today, I know i'm late by a lot. Mr. Iwata, you have brought the best in me, I remember playing Super Mario World when I was only 5, ( from my dad's old SNES ) My first real console was the Nintendo Gamecube. I enjoyed it so much, just seeing all of the people smile whenever I play Nintendo games at my house, makes me think that whoever made these games are people who care, who care about what goes around in society. People now are all about Xbox and Playstation because they take games to seriously, Nintendo games are casual play. Mr. Iwata, you have made my childhood more than I can ask for, not only to me but everyone who enjoys Nintendo games from around the world. Rest In Peace, you will never in my heart be forgotten.
Satoru Iwata, a really nice person which passed away that was the late Nintendo CEO. May our hope, lives and dreams carry on for eternity for Nintendo and for Iwata's sake. Rest in peace.
Hector Chavez I played through Kirby's return to dreamland for wii and completed it the 6th time.also, i named my Mario amiibo iwata.I miss iwata so much :(
A video paying respect to a great idol amongst game developers and game players. And yet still receives Dislikes and eventual negative comments, some people just don't have a heart...
May Iwata-san be in better place now. We as gamers must thank him for all he has done to gaming industry and think of good memories about him. Men may die, but they never really disappear. The memories live on. That's why death is so precious... it shows us how momentary the life truly is, and why we should appreciate it. Death is what makes life worth living. R.I.P. Satoru Iwata.
R.I.P. Mr. Iwata. He has given such inventions, and I still remember my most cherished game: Mario And Luigi: Bowser's Inside a Story. I will always remember you with each time I get hit by Dark Bowser, all knowing that this came from you. Even that one damaged DS still given me memories. I, and all other people, will always cherish their one thing from Nintendo.
I only just found out about the death of Iwata by watching this very video and...I'm speechless. Shocked. Alarmed. How could this have happened to our great and noble Nintendo president? Who will take his place? What's going to happen to the future of Nintendo now that we've lost our great man of gaming?
How sad...He shall be remembered by all nintendo fans. I am one of them. He made so many series I love. Kirby, Kid Icarus, and the one that he worked on so much, Mario. He may have not been the true creator... but he still helped. May we all remember this soul who made Nintendo that much more epic.. Satoru Iwata...Kami wa anata no tamashī shin'ainaru yūjin o shukufuku shimasu
Doing a Nintendo all nighter in dedication of a fallen hero. I will also promise myself to finally beat Earthbound this summer. Goodbye Iwata-San, you were a great man and a phenomenal CEO of Nintendo.
Now i know he has been dead for a while but...Iwata did something that made me so happy. Year of Luigi. I have been waiting so long for my dearest favorite character Luigi to have his moment of glory and because Iwata......(sorry if I misspelled his name) my dream came true. And I say, Iwata will be in our hearts forever. He changed my life not just my life but everyone's heart. R.I.P. Iwata and let Mario, Luigi, Link,Wario,Waluigi, Toad Zelda,Boswer DK,DKjr,Yoshi,Kirby and everyone else be with you.
***** It is indeed a good reply may Iwata rest in peace. I lived with nintendo and i shall stay with nintendo until the very end it's sad that he left us NIntendo Forever and probably those who disliked are peoples that hate nintendo too. who knows.

Tolkien. Most known as the most prolific actor of all time, having portrayed Count Dracula, Francisco Scaramanga, Count Dooku, Saruman and Ansem the Wise... But we'll play some other day again. *Tama*: Calico cat, operating officer, station master, super station master, Honorable Eternal Station Master (posthumous title). If you, who read this, is feeling depressed, remember: You are not alone. There are numbers you can call. Please, talk to someone... If you, who read this, isn't feeling depressed, remember: Support and encourage those around you. Genuinely ask them how they're feeling, ask them if they are happy, listen to what they're saying and be there for them... and, for the love of god, don't just brush them off by telling them "You'll get over it" or "Just cheer up" or something like that. *Henning Mankell*: Crime writer, children's author and dramatist. Best known for the _Wallander_ series. Also an all-around cool guy who contributed to a lot of charity and was one of the passengers on board of the Gaza Flotilla (he was going to join the Freedom Flotilla II, as well, before it was cancelled). Sailed from the shores of the living on a one-way ticket. *Sano "Samfree" Takayuki*: Renown music remixer, well known for his contributions to the _Vocaloid_ and _Touhou Project_ communities, also the composer of the music in a few animes and video games. At the age of 31 years old he went on to compose music among the stars. *Miyu Matsuki*: Voice actress, famous for her roles in _Claymore_, _Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya_, _Haiyore! Nyarko-san_, _Hidamari Sketch_, _Melty Blood_, _Pani Poni Dash!_, _Pokémon_, _Precure_, _Romeo X Juliet_, _Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei_, _Strawberry Panic_, _Tales of Zestiria_ and _Tsukihime_. Only 31 years old, leukemia robbed us all of her voice. *Lennart Hellsing*: Award-winning author of educational children's literature, poet, pungeon master and nonsense writer. He sat with Mr. Banana at a cafe, ate up all of their buns without much delay; said that "it has been fun, but alas I cannot stay," he bid Baker Bengtson farewell, and flew away. "To where?" I don't know, but in good company, is both he and us and Marco Macaroni; he's with everyone else here, they rest in peace and harmony; and he left us with Krakel Spektakel, so we'll never feel lonely. *Shigeru Mizuki*: Manga artist, creator of _Hakaba Kitaro_/_GeGeGe no Kitaro_, _Kappa no Sanpei_, _Akuma-kun_, _Terebi-kun_, _Onward Towards Our Noble Deaths_, _NonNonBa to Ore_ and _Showa: A History of Japan_. If you, one moonlit night, see a Youkai that looks like a tired, old man who looks like he carries the horrors of war on his back, don't worry; he was a decent human being when he was alive and is probably one of the best apparitions that could ever haunt your night. *Akiyuki Nosaka*: Novelist, singer, lyricist and, as the writer of _Grave of the Fireflies_, the real-life Seita. He's finally together with his sister again and, though it's said that the era of common sense died with him, let us make this a better world in memory of both of both him and his sister. A world where fireflies must not die so young. If I forgot anyone, please, post their names as a reply... Remember those we've lost...
