My focus these last years is soulfully mixing those scale and modal runs into strong melodic lines, saying exactly what I'm looking to say, with an overall outlook on how it adds to and effects the song. Satch has been my favorite guitarist in a long list of guitarists for a long time. He has been a huge influence on my playing and writing. Nice video Leon. You are a very good player.

Yup. I've been a Satch fan for over 30 years and these types of runs are a main part of my playing. I love how fluid they sound. And I agree, if you don't like Satriani, you don"t like electric guitar!

You really should look for a dentist sponsorship. Make a video that plays in the waiting room for how a patient should have proper jaw position during an examination. On VHS of course.

Satch is a limitless source of inspiration for melodic content! He's a master of that craft. He can absolutely throw down and shred alongside the best of them, but his subtlety is in his songwriting ability, with the guitar pretending to be 'vocals' he makes you feel like nothing is missing. I borrow from him often when I'm trying to think melodically. W(hat) W(ould) J(oe) D(o) 😂👌 Ps, yoink!

I’d play the notes in reverse in order to have wide interval jumps when I change strings. 15p14p12h14h15p14p12, 15p..., etc. Could also add notes by sliding up to or down to the next note and back. ie, new string 15/17\15 or ...p12\10/12 at the end of a string before switching.
