I've been on TRT for years now and tried different types of injection sites. I'm switching back from deltoid injections to glute injections again and here's why.

Always done deltoid (alternate sides) using an insulin syringe. No problems at all, and no pain as well!

IF you reinject at a different site make sure that you change to a new needle. Injecting, just once dulls the needle enough to make it more difficult to penetrate the epidermis. I use a 27 gauge 1 inch for deltoid.

I appreciate all you do with broadcasting this channel. You truly are a great help to many people including myself. If I may I would like to ask a question. I personally was and I say was because I was taken off T by my Dr. I was on a weekly dose of 100mg per week. I was on that for approximately a year. I felt great and really noticed a difference in my energy and mood. Being on a weekly dose of 100mg per week brought me from having a T level in the low 100s to a T level around 800... The problem was my prostate numbers. My prostate numbers went from a 3.3 to an 8.7 within a years time of being on the T. So my dr took me off the T. I had to have a fusion biopsy (that came out clean) but even after the biopsy he still has me off the T for now. I'm very curious if you've experienced anything similar or heard of anything similar 🤔

Uh oh Trevor!! I really don't like to hear that. Super long story below you may want to read: My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer about six years ago and he went to one of the best oncologist in the Southeast. He's a miracle to be alive. basically prostate cancer is not a bad or aggressive cancer, but when you have prostate or any cancer that has metastasized and spread to say your liver like he had it makes it stage 4. if you have stage 4 cancer you're most likely terminal. Anyways he did all kinds of stuff including estrogen shots also known as hormone therapy to lower his testosterone down to basically zero because testosterone fuels prostate cancer and is the number-one enemy! His oncologist who went to Yale as well two other prestigious schools for 16 years total always repeats that about testosterone fueling prostate cancer. My father did the chemo and all sorts of things including eating perfectly, hormone therapy and an additional oral chemotherapy which is still on, low sugar diet and is perfectly healthy now 6 years no sign of the cancer anywhere but it could always change.. I love him I'm so grateful for my father! He Rocks. So humble. He'd do anything on earth for his kids. Anyways I suspect the numbers you put up that have increased from roughly 3 to 8 are something called PSA or prostate specific antigen. That's the number one indicator they test for likely prostate cancer. If I can remember correctly 8 is not insane but it's definitely alarming, especially if you're below 60 and especially if it's shot up like that very quickly. My father STILL gets his PSA done every 2 months and when he began his numbers were off the charts *way* above 8. His partner at his Law Firm was actually also diagnosed with prostate cancer several years after my father was but it did not metastasize and he actually had his prostate removed and is doing well now so his case was much more benign and his PSA I believe only got up to a 9.6 for your reference. I'm sure my father's was at least double or triple that maybe more. Now his PSA is like 0.03 or something incredibly good. So I don't like the fact that your PSA numbers were that high especially because I've chosen to go on trt as well with my family history of prostate cancer. I think your doctor did the right thing. Let me ask you this did you have your prostate exam? I remember in the beginning when my dad's numbers were off the chart he came to get his prostate exam one year and the doctor said he couldn't even feel his prostate because it was so swollen. Get your prostate exam anyways although if it was abnormal they would have done your PSA and you've already done that. I don't know if it's too risky to go back on trt or not? but knowing this, I think there's a lot of doctors who would not start you back. and that's scary to me because I really have had my quality of life improved tremendously on trt and what you wrote is something that scares the hell out of me because trt may very well ignite prostate cancer. the jury is still out on that actually. You'll have some people who think they know it all tell you it won't, but that's not true. the medical field has not had enough definitive findings either way yet.... or better put I think they've had findings both ways. the evidence and tests are still being collected. some say yes and there has some evidence that says no but no one has a definitive answer yet... I'm scared that the answer is most definitely yes. injecting exogenous testosterone CAN -will- most definitely ignite prostate cancer, especially in someone who's prone to it.
@BuffaloNickel9
@BuffaloNickel9 2 года назад
And I can tell you the guy who makes this channel doesn't have any good input on this topic because I've asked him before as I recall he didn't have much knowledge on the topic. As many on trt don't know. Can't blame him, just let him know what happened to you is possible. Not his fault. He makes great content but not on this specifically certainly not any better information than I can give you. Most on trt don't know how risky it may be, especially if they are already prone to prostate cancer. We are in a spot right now where the medical field has not given a definitive answer as trt has only become really widespread in the past decade . Yes it's been around for a long, long time prior, but not like it is these days. It's almost like it's become trendy and less taboo if you will. You see the commercials everywhere for low testosterone supplements with big-name endorsements like Athlete Frank Thomas many other's Etc. At the very least if you're on trt you need to get your PSA done at least twice a year. that's it. all it is is a simple blood test that men over a certain age should be doing anyways... I'm only 33 and been on trt for about 8 months and I'm getting ready to schedule my first PSA even though I'm much younger than typical age for prostate exam and PSA. I think if you really wanted to go back on trt you could do it just as long as you monitored your PSA regularly. There are some men who have higher PSA in the 6-8 range but they're normally 80 years old and that's in the high normal for that age. I don't like what happened to you and I'm very glad the results came back favorable and you are prostate cancer free my friend.

@@BuffaloNickel9 thank you for your reply 🙏 My dr agrees with your statements/feelings about T feeding cancer. I am 50yrs if age and a normal psa score should be below a 4. My family has a history of prostate cancer as well. Ive currently been off the T for 8 months and my psa # has lowered to a 4.9 , better but still high. Despite the T helping me feel great in many aspects of my life the reality is I likely won't ever be put back on it due to the potential of cancer. I appreciate your time and am grateful to this community's input. Hopefully my situation can also help enlighten others of the potential risks...

@@trevortimm7528 Thanks Trevor! Man, I didn't know you had a family history as well but it makes total sense along the lines of what I wrote. I really wonder if the family history makes us more prone or what findings will be released one day.... Or it could just be that everyone on trt has an elevated PSA but like in your case it doesn't always signal malicious prostate cancer... Come back to this thread and give me a shout if you ever find any good information you think I might should know. Like I said maybe it elevates everyone's psa to go on trt, just none of these guys are ever getting it tested... I'm telling you anytime I've ever asked, none of these trt guys have any clue there is a connection they should monitor closely...we know though I'm super happy you can breathe knowing you are okay. That was probably a little scary eh? Cheers

I’m a glute guy through and through! I do subq in the glute and won’t ever change (at least never plan to) and you nailed it. Long as you are getting it into your body, that’s all that matters. It’s going to absorb no matter where you put it.

23G is painful and does a lot of damage overtime; will be a lot of internal scarring.. Switch to at least 25 or even 27G. Will help you to avoid the same issue in the future

So splitting the doses, I’ve noticed that there is always oil left in the needle tip which is wasted. I use 25G. How to get around this?
@DrYouMrTube
@DrYouMrTube 2 года назад
@@IFYOUWANTITGOGETIT Make sure you are using 1ml and not 3ml syringe. HUGE difference. With 1ml or .5ml(at least the ones I use) there's pretty much nothing left. Otherwise some of the oil is left in the syringe and inside the needle. Now, you can't squeeze 100% of it, regardless what you use. You can only minimize the loss. Your testosterone vial does come with just a bit extra though to account for the loss. My estimate 10ml are about 10.5ml to account for the loss

@@DrYouMrTube I guess I didnt know the vials have a little extra oil in them. Nice to know. Right now I’m using 1ml syringe with 25g needle in the quads once a week. I read and hear of so many different opinions on where to inject and what size needles and how often that I just don’t know if I should change what I’m doing or not. I’m just going to my urologist and they keep things very basic and don’t really get into the nitty gritty like I see online. Honestly what I’m doing seems to be working for me but I am curious if I could improve.

@@IFYOUWANTITGOGETIT 27g+ is a MUCH smaller needle, less scarring, less pain. You have years to play with syringes and gauges. I've recently made a pretty significant discovery in my TRT protocol. I've never much cared for cottonseed oil as a carrier oil Being that it's a GMO and all. I came up with the idea of asking the compounding pharmacy that does my HCG if they use a different carrier oil for their recipient aid and turns out they do. They use grape seed oil which is not a GMO. It's also less viscous as cotton seed oil so I can use a 29 gauge needle and have no problem pulling into the syringe like I did with a cottonseed oil. After experimenting as you have, I've came to injecting subq in the belly fat with a 29 gauge 1/2-in needle. It's painless. My estrogen levels have gone down also since injecting. Subq.

Do subcutaneous injections pinching your belly fat and going just under skin with 28 or 29 gauge insulin syringe, which you can buy at Walgreens or CVS. Much less traumatic of an experience than going intramuscular. Have you ever used testosterone? If not man your life's about to change for the better.

@@NaturalMushroom Hey Kyle. I strongly recommend start splitting that 300 Mgs up to multiple shots a week my friend. and do some further research watching channels like moreplatesmoredates who's just about the leading expert on modern trt. you've got to get an insulin needle and try your delts. If you don't want to do that, that's fine I think the 25 gauge 5/8 length or 1-inch length as you stated are the way to go if you're going to pin anything in the glutes. Absolutely. That's where I was until I tried delts and got my insulin syringes. It's almost painless and there's not near as much fat on your delts, so you don't need a 1 inch. I use 28G 1/2 inch and just like the literature shows it's made my blood serum T concentration levels much more steady by injecting 4 times a week as well as my free and total testosterone have raised another 12% on the exact same weekly dosage just by pinning smaller amounts more frequently. 300 mg shot all at once is an insane amount of liquid. the dose itself is not insane at all though. I've been on 300 mgs before and some gentlemen need that much- honestly. You just got to start splitting that 300 up at the absolute least 100 mg's 3 times a week, but the more often you pin the more stable and better results you'll get mimicking the body's natural production. If I were you I'd get a 28 gauge 1/2 inch insulin needle and move to my Delts @ 75 mgs 4x a week or 100mg 3x weekly Just my two cents from someone who's talked to more men than I can count who are on trt. Good luck brother

I've read literature and seen the numbers where keeping your blood serum T concentration more steady by injecting at 3 or more times a week with a small insulin needle in the delts produces better free and total numbers Do it tons of men out there having great success with it!

As usual, Thanks for sharing your experiences with the rest of us and like you say ALL the time "We're here to help the TRT community" You touched on a small portion of the process; that's the start of the injection process after you've prepped and ready to hit the spot. I totally agree with you, how can you sit and look down at your quad knowing that you're about ready to pin. For me, no matter where you inject there's always a bit of Anxiety especially if you've had a twinge of pain or a not so good session. This is how I found this channel in the first place a while back. Before going on TRT, I wanted the best research I could find and understand to help me make that leap. Tried A-gel.. NEVER again. I like to take a bath but not feel like I was at the beach putting on sun tan lotion 2 times a day.. Nope - DONE My doctor said to try subQ 3 times a week. I wasn't having that.. that seemed too much for me especially since I don't like needles anyway. My doctor said, OK try IM, you can use the delt, glute, or quad. OK, to the point. No A-gel.. SubQ - was out, too much, IM delts - you still have to look at the injection site like the quad. Quad was my choice. 3M Syringe 21G 1" for IM 18G 1 1/2" for drawing Gauze pad little round band-aid bio-disposal bin After all of my research, my first time pinning was a pretty good experience. Placed everything out, swabbed the bottle top, swabbed the IM spot, draw specified amount using 18G in 3M syringe, change to the 21G, removed air, ONE, TWO, THREE go.. asperate - good to go, press, done, removed (took about 5 seconds total of needle in Muscle), no blood to speak of, dabbed with gauze, swabbed with another pad, band-aid - First time took about 20 minutes all together. After the 5th or 6th time of IM alternating quads, I did have a couple of quick pain (slight twinge or unusual blood) that started giving me anxiety. ONE, TWO, THR... umm.. let's start over, ONE, TWO... wait.. This anxiety started getting worse and worse as to a point of getting everything prepped and having to step away for an hour or more just to start that session over again. More research on the anxiety part and how to over come that portion. Dude, I found a device - "Auto-injector, controlled delivery" device that there wasn't much information on. I AM NOT or have any affiliation with this company. But I think that you should inquire. It was 75 bucks and I ordered one that fit my 3M syringes, they even have one for those who do the SubQ process. 4 days later it arrived. unionmedico.com/90-super-grip/ NO MORE Anxiety. ZERO.. This device has made my process Anxiety free and actually I'm down to a 5 minute process from start to finish. If you want I can give other feedback on this device what works for me, please let me know.. Hope this helps the community. /DR

I agree. It's thinning for sure. If I could make it grow back I would.

I don't actually die my hair. It's just thinning. I would shave it, but my wife likes the way I have it now, so I'll keep it this way for a bit longer.
