Nice place, very picturesque, on the hills overlooking the harbor. You have a lot more to share:the many waterfalls, the lovely monkeys. Go look up the underwear park. And a general tour around the island, Belmont Estate,Levera,Largesse Beach,,Egmont, even Cariacou 😁
Thanks for taking us along your “Day @ The St George’s Market” I truly enjoyed it as it brought back beautiful memories of the 13 years we lived on the island. Hope you bought lots of Cinnamon Bark/Sticks and Nutmegs. Grenada Nutmegs are the best in the world compared to Indonesia due its intense flavour 🩵🇬🇩
Hey Ash, I just got finished watching all your Grenada 🇬🇩 vlogs. I totally enjoyed it. I felt like I could have been there, too. Everything you highlighted was so beautiful and authentic. Thank you for trying the fresh cocoa from the pod. I enjoyed it during my childhood. I hope you got to try the hot beverage (cocoa tea). It's a labor of love and a lot of dedication that goes into it. Many people do not know the process, but you have to gather enough pods and remove the seeds, then you put it to ferment (in a container/ tub covered with banana leaves for a few days, then you remove the leaves and mix the fermented seeds. It gives off a stench. It'll be warm and wet, but that's all part of the fermentation. Next, you empty it out on an old sheet or whatever you have and spread it out on the hot ground or galvanise roof to dry. It takes a few days to fully dry. Once the seeds are dried , you roast or parch them in an oven (kitchen oven, outdoor drum oven, mud oven, or copper) to remove the skin/shell. When you remove the shell, you proceed to pound in a mortar and pestle with cinnamon and bay leaves or use a mill . The cocoa beans will come out like hot melted chocolate. Then you give it a good mix to incorporate the spices, and then you start shaping into small balls or logs (like Guyanese fishcakes lol), and you leave it to harden. It is now ready for your hot drink. It will last for years. Listennnn hunny, I looooove my cocoa tea. I make it often enough and enjoy with bakes or homemade bread 😅 with saltfish etc.
Wow I'm impressed wish I could have seen this process kudos to the people who do this process, thanks for taking the time to explain the detailed steps our friend at the resort gave me two coco balls I'm excited to make coco tea with it, the coco pods was tasty I enjoyed it
Hi Ash...thank you and Attiana so much for the shout out...Joshua is in school when I watched the video, but I'll watch it again with him when he gets home...I love how clean the streets are in Grenada 🇬🇩 even the sidewalk leading to the market, very clean❤thank you for sharing your trip with us...I'm excited to see you use the spices in your recipe also looking forward to seeing you make the seamoss drink❤much love to you and your family
The seamoss is a gooooood tasty drink. Give it to hubby more than you drink it lol. Anyway, long ago, the elders boiled it to soften and become gelatinous. However, you don't have to do that anymore. When you get your seamoss, soak it with limes/lemons to remove the fresh sea scent for some hours or overnight until it loosens out or softens. Go through it thoroughly to remove all dirt and debris. Wash well and soak again for a shorter period ( you do not have to add more limes/lemons). After the second soak, this is where you omit the boiling. You can proceed to blend smooth until it looks like gel and make your drink at this point. Any remaining gel can be stored in wide mouth containers. It will solidify, and you can use it as needed. To make the drink: In your blender, start off with a pot spoon of seamoss gel, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg, evaporated milk, sugar, essence (optional) and a little water or you can use condensed milk instead of evaporated (omitting sugar) and water to blend. Add water gradually because you don't want a thin watery drink. It should have body and serve with ice if you like. Hubby can add a little white rum or Guinness to his, and you'll enjoy the effects 😜😜. Enjoy lovie 😅
Sis you made me laugh 😂 looks like hubby will be having tons of this for the holidays 🤣🤣🙌🏼🙌🏼thank you for taking the time to explain this recipe I greatly appreciate your knowledge sending big hugs 😘😘
@@cookingwithash well if you enjoyed the beach in Antigua that's a good thing. But I'm sure Antigua has no rain forest ,greenery, and water falls than Grenada right? Just asking.
