Been rough here on the East Fife coast. Got to thank my neighbour for not only rescuing our wheelie bins which had been blown from the garden into the street, but for also tying them to the hedge as the fence was blown down too. Great guy at number 7.
Thanks for that but we have gusts of wind which are not gentle at this moment, but I do understand Scotland have more bad weather than most ,so thanks for the input.
In a strange way you're right. It's highly unusual for a low to set off from Greenland and head south eastwards and deepen in this spectacular way. To go from west to east, cross the UK and deepen yes but not this. The cause is the highly unusual temperature difference over Greenland where there has been mild air over the south of the island (which really has no right being there) meeting very cold air in the north of the island. Large temperature difference of over 20 deg C has given rise to a large pressure difference aloft and a very powerful jet.
Makes a change with us on the Isle of Wight with 109 mph in the past looks like we’ll miss the worst of this ,batten down the hatches and look after each other.
Thank u so much beautiful soul for amazing focused for Friday and Saturday. It was very strong wins last night. In Ferndown. DORSET. BUT NO SNOW. Just a touch of rain the wind seems to ease off now. But it was very cold. Love and lights with gratitude.. 👍💐💐💫🦋🇬🇧🕊🌈🕊
Lived in Nottingham for 36 years, moved to Redcar three months ago and I have honestly never seen weather like it is here this morning in my life. The wind here is insane, quite scary in fact. Never thought I would miss Nottingham!! Stay safe everyone, stay inside if you can avoid having to go out.
Why do Scotland always get more weather updates than the Midlands even on the midland weather forecast you don't have chance to take it in ,I live just out side Coventry we get little up date in Bedworth .
It's windy in NE but definitely NOT even near the red warning! Is this a joke from Met Office or exagerration? For God sake, it's November, not July, this is how it should be in winter. Cold!
