The Houston livestock show and rodeo isn't just a couple of weekend shows. It's a 3 week lineup of mostly country artists with a Hispanic heritage day, a Rap day, an EDM day, an alternative rock day sprinkled in between. Every show is pretty much sold out too.

They don’t have the younger acts because it would be crazy in NRG…and not in a good way. The Rodeo is a family event. The younger generation kids wouldn’t respect the atmosphere .

I don’t think the target audience is the 18-30 age range. Young folks don’t know how to act in them environments sometimes. Plus its marketed as more of a family event

I’m from Memphis and I experienced the rodeo for the first time this past year and I have to admit that I had an amazing time each time I went out to an event. Wish Memphis had something like it.

For one I’m sure there’s a budget Bun B has for these artist. Travis Scott would probably eat the entire budget alone. 2 the rodeo is a family event bro. Some of these artist don’t align with what that theme. Bun B does a great job every year. If sauce feel like that why not make your own festival and do it how u saying it should be. Everything is easier said than done

It caters to all demographics and ethnic backgrounds. The rodeo is typically a month long in each city in Texas. Houston rodeo and Texas Fair are the two biggest attractions people drive hours to visit the city for the amenities, and nightlife. The concerts for the rodeo could have younger acts. But it’s tailored to families and couples, not age specifically. The country artist are always the most popular, the rock and r&b is normally classic artist or group.

First the Houston Takeover has only been going on for 3yrs. Next the crowd attending the show is based off the lineup. The first two had a majority of crowd 40 and up b/c it was most old school artist. The 3rd one drew a younger crowd b/c of Drake and Mexican OT. There is no need to have Meagan or Travis Scott b/c Drake is larger than both of them together. As far as new up and coming artist. There are probably not enough to fill that entire time slot.

He’s kind of misrepresenting the Houston Rodeo. It’s not a festival. Hip hop artist get one or two nights. Each night you get about 2-3 hours to put on that show. The rodeo is not the place to put people on. I’d say the closest thing to what he’s talking about is SXSW. That’s one of the largest music festivals in the country and plenty of artist have come out of that
