Um saucy dad. Scott was in an interview and talked about how KO was at Ivy league education about to go to med school with full honors. Scott contacted him and said "We need you" Scott spent his savings to get KO to Cali and said to quote "It was the best money I ever spent".
I personally feel I love every member of the group miss Avi love Matt the one thing you can never replace is KO. It's reality and not physically possible.
Lol, I saw an interview with KO where he said it was quite an interesting conversation he had with his parents…explaining that he was abandoning med school to be in an accappela group🤣
I have been thinking about that. Imagine being an Immigrant who has worked really hard to become successfull in their new country and has taught their kids to work hard. Their oldest child is about to go to med school when they suddenly decide to run away to Hollywood to do reality TV with some fairly eccentric teenagers they met in the internet. I’d be really worried.
I’ve also seen Kirstie in an interview say that she went with Scott to the airport to meet Kevin and that they were scared he wouldn’t like them because he had just graduated from Yale. Kevin had heard the trio sing and thought he wasn’t good enough. It’s simply the best fairy tale ever to happen that these 6 folks found each other and gave us such joy.
@@sannalopperi-vihinen233 I'm guessing they would have come unglued! I would have for sure! Hoping they've noticed by now that his decision worked out pretty well for him.....and the rest of us!! :)
Haha, you getting irritated that they're so good reminds me of the name of Scotts podcast, "Ugh... you're so good". Named from when people are so good you get annoyed, haha. This song is grown up ptx at their finest. Such mature and trained voices, sophisticated video, suave looks etc. This is a spectacular version of the song. Scotts raspiness gets me every time! And Kirstie is using such power, in a way she couldn't have done in the past. They are all so impressive. (And Kevin is a freak as we all know.)
I was so happy when I saw they did this. I love Lady Gaga and I love A Star is Born, and this song is just so, so, good. And then PTX had to go and blow it out of the water. This and Havana are in my top 5 of their upgrades. Number one is and always will be Gold. Anyways great reaction, excited to see more
I'm of an age (older than dirt) where I've considered asking my kids or grandkids to have a "Return to Sender" label tattooed to my brain in case my mind wanders off so it can be returned. I'm actually amazed that you haven't had as many issues with Pentatonix as most other reactors. Most get blocked to put their video's out. Great reaction as always. Take care all.
It’s been a hell of a week for me, I was just released from the hospital. Hopefully if the docs got the antibiotics combo and my kidney function on exactly the right combo I’ll be a lot better in a week or two. I NEED all the Pentatonix reactions I can get. Thank you for such an awesome reaction.
I think Scott’s students did an excellent job. And they didn’t have the cello. How can a bunch of 8 - 16 year olds do a good job with this song? They have talent and inside access to how PTX does it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W_AvpIAX9yg.html
I can’t get into it and I’m not even sure why. I could hear Lady Gag was killing it, but couldn’t feel it. I can tell Kevin’s cello sounds great and the rest of them sound good, but I don’t feel it.
This isn't the only one to fall through the cracks. Looking in your playlist, I don't see O Come All Ye Faithful, their original song; Love me when I don't, or the Superfruit video of Empire Medley (Don't worry, you don't have to have seen the TV show Empire in order to think this is one of their best performances.)
Huge second for Oh Come All Ye Faithful. One of my favorites; guaranteed to put a smile on your face (I can't listen to it without grinning like a fool)
I saw pentatonix in concert last year and watch Kevin play the cello and Beatbox at the same time. It was absolutely incredible. I watch the video that I recorded over and over again.
I love the little touches of gold that each member is wearing. I don't think this video gets enough attention. I don't know if people have mentioned it but in addition to Yale he is a world class cello and saxophone player having played at Carnegie Hall for each instrument. He plays keyboard and he speaks fluent Mandarin. There is a video of an interview with just Kevin it's like an hour long I just didn't put the link. I love Mitch's part. I don't think I've even heard the original version and I don't need to. I'm going to let you in on the little secret. It's not so much a secret people know it but Kevin calls his cello Beyonce.
The black-and-white video has just some splashes of gold color from jewelry and a few room fixtures. It's a tribute to the movie's posters, which were all black-and-white with the only color being the gold lettering of the title, "A Star Is Born".
I have heard this cover at least 50 times, and love it. I got new headphones yesterday - and, for the first time I can really, HEAR Matt. O.M.G. The combination of his bass line and the mournful tone of the cello are sublime!
These guys melt my face off with everything they sing. I enjoy your content. Both Kirstin and Mitch are total chameleons! They never keep the same look and you are constantly squinting your eyes to see how that can be the same person from the previous video. Good job dude.
They do it every time! Best version of this ever and the touch towards the end paying tribute to Bad Romance just proves how grounded and respectful they are to the original, and probably to prevent upsetting Lady Gaga for doing it better than her haha. Fab reaction Saucey! 😂🏴❣️
Not related to Shallow, but I had some friends who apparently hadn’t heard PTX before listen to Happy Now on Friday. The part they found most incredible was that all of the drums and percussions were beatboxing and body percussions. Wish I had used Coffee In Bed instead, so I might have seen their brains melt.
i know i'm not needed as subscriber (but clicked the button anyway) as you already have 24k+ but i think your reactions are great and have enjoyed every single one, looking forward to more.
Hello Saucy Dad. You made laugh. KO brought his cellellello for the song shallallallow. The master cello-boxer excels again. Scott and Kirstie are spot on perfect on the vocals and emotion. Matt is so deep on that bass. Mitch, Mitch, Mitch with those ethereal backing sounds and on that bridge with those perfect notes, with his eyes closed and pounding his chest and soaring to the sky with his vocals. Saucey Dad, you had your eyes closed - please go back and re-watch that section and watch the passion of Mitch as he sings. Pure Pentatonix Perfection - yet again. This is a masterpiece of elegance.
To hear another take on this song, check out Scott's students, the Acapop!Kids. This video has 9 kids, ages 8 - 16. Instead of the cello, the kids do the harmonies. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W_AvpIAX9yg.html
One of the best versions of this song I have seen. Including covers by Evynne and Peter Hollens, Matt and Savannah Shaw, Acapop Kids, and The Crosby's.
HAHAHAHA!!!! KNEW this one would get ya!!!! EVERYTHING they do if they could all just do it halfway it would be LEGENDARY!!!! I freaking love them sooooo damn much!!! You are WICKED AWESOME SD!!!! Please dont ever stop your channel!!! LOVE everything u have done and always can not wait for more!!! LOVE YA SAUCEY FAM!!!!
So many beautiful enhancements to this song that Gaga and Cooper aren't able to deliver that make it another PTX upgrade. Just too much talent in those five bodies....
I love watching your reactions because I always totally get it. Like I literally get mad at them all the time for being so freaking good. Also I got second hand goosebumps when you were listening and reacting to Mitch. Man, I would love to go to a PTX show with you one day and watch your brain melt while I just sob the whole time (like I have actually done in the past, like Mitch has seen me cry at least two times now). I love seeing people react to and love something that I love so much. Like this is just peak human experience for me right here. ❤️❤️❤️
Kevin is just going back to his roots - that's how Scott found him on RU-vid - beat boxing while playing cello. You love the song but have you reacted to the Floor Jansen version from Beste Zangers?
Omg, the avi T-shirt behind you… is that available somewhere because my daughter would lose her mind for that. Probably from the merch table at a concert, right? Not available on his site or anywhere online I can find. Btw your reactions to their music are priceless, especially when you are struck speechless and hug your unicorn ❤
If you really love this song, you need to hear this version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sJu1zONfL0o.html&ab_channel=WaisChoice It was recorded live, so there is audience noise, but the performers are all outstanding.
Mitch out Gaga’s Gaga. All those years of him looking up to her and he ends up singing it better. Kirstie, Matt and Scott did great in this but Kevin and Mitch are standouts for me.
I love Kirstie's voice in this. I love that she uses the low end of her Alto range and her vibrato is sick. Also I would like to say I would kill for Mitch's eyebrows. Mine have always been blonde and at my age no longer exist. LOL great reaction thanks Nick 😎
Definitely an irritatingly talented (and irritatingly good looking) group. 😆 If you ever do audio only reactions, I'd love a reaction to pentatonix somewhere over the rainbow or anchors.
