Saucony Kinvara 14 is a bargain 

Hello from Russia, Novosibirsk. Been following your channel for quite a while. Kinvara used to be my very first shoe of a dream, that is the one I had once dreamed to get hold of. Golden era for Kinvara I believe was 3 to 7 versions. Ginger Runner in particular did a good job promoting it within the community. Ironically, the first Kinvara I personally managed to finally get in my hands was 10th version. While it doesn't (nor has it ever) have any exceptional or even just noteworthy tech, this shoe was unique. There has always been something charming about Kinvara's simplicity and its low profile. I beleive there even still is, although to a much less extent so, as we're no longer in a position to refer to it as a low profile trainer, which is straight sad even despite the objective fact that with the additional stack Kinvara has gained a little to comfort. The problem is - you'd never pick Kinvara for comfort! It's not about that. Kinvara is about being natural and low to the ground - where it's you, not the shoe, do the main job. There are plenty shoes you pick for comfort and Kinvara was never intended for that.

Big Kinvara fan & just retired my 12 after 500 miles. The light weight of the 14 is appealing.

Yo FORDY, I'm in the states. This shoe still serves a purpose in the market IMO.. I am a huge speed 3 fan like yourself but I also love the K14 for a specific purpose- Injury prevention..I think it's good to throw in a different drop and non-super foam/non-plated shoe for at least 1 run a week. That's why I have the K14 and it serves the purpose wonderfully. I originally tried to accomplish this with Altras and 0 drop is just too much for me. I like to throw the K14 in for a short run or a speed day when I don't go with the Speed 3. The PWWRUN is stiff but does soften up a little bit after 30 or so miles and I think this shoe is more snappy and comfortable than the Hoka mach in my opinion. Also, my super shoes feel even more "super" after coming back to them and my achilles tendons are nice and stretched out.

Evening Fordy, I live in Sweden and I have had a couple of pairs of Kinavaras. Haven’t tried the latest version but I like the simplicity of that show. Seems nice to go back to basics in this time of carbon super shoes. /Jonas

Kinvara 13, i love them! Just bought 14, and cant wait to run with those!

Loved my Kinvaras. Perfect tempo shoe and even 5k race shoe. But my old knees love more Cush these days so most of my runs are in Triumph 20/21. If I want to go faster I’ll put on my Mach 4 which is bouncier and gas more ground feel than the current kinvara 14

I'm from the US in Atlanta. Got into running this year and the Kinvara 14s were my second shoes I got after the Brooks Ghost 14s. I've loved these so far for tempo and long runs but the outsole is pretty rough with the foam. I'm around 130 miles and the foam towards the front is pretty worn

There are not many shoes that are flat and traditional anymore. Nimbus 24 works for me, Nimbus 25 has now a rocker. I can't think of a flat shoe in New Balance's and Hoka's lineup. Companies are shifting towards the rocker design. I hope they keep these traditional geometry for runners like me who loves to feel the ground at toe off.

Boston, Massachusetts, USA. I loved my Kinvara 10s and 11s, but shifted to higher drop shoes (8-10 mm) to reduce stress on my calves and Achilles. The Kinvaras became more flexible and smoother riding as their midsoles-outsoles wore down, feeling best at 300-350 miles when I retired them after they began to slip in wet conditions. I still enjoy wearing them casually around town, appreciating their low drop, toe room, and pleasant colorways.

Actually, Kinvara 14 is the best tempo shoe if you need to improve your muscle condition before a competition. I really like the trainings with my Kinvara 14, I feel the ground but in the good way. Another alternative for people that need more cushioning is NB Rebel v3, this is a very reactive shoe to run with less effort than Kinvara requires.

Fordy. Will you consider doing a video sometime on shoes for people that are slightly heavier and slower and maybe don’t want/need carbon or super shoes? Think it would be great.

Colorado mountains, US. I have the Speed 3s, Triumph 21s and looking for something slot in between those two. Also the Magnify Nitro 2, but it's just used to swap out with the Triumph, or on more slippery days. Not wanting a plate in it either. What non-plated shoes would you put up against the Kinvara, for the same role in a rotation?

Toronto… use to love the Kinvara until the 11. Have not gone back since. These look tempting,but can’t pull the trigger

Also your point on the Kinvara vs other comparable shoes with super foams and/or rods or plates is a good one. Kinvara has been passed by on the tech front and has been left behind. Basically the kinvara midsole is a big plonk of EVA foam

I went from the New Balance Rebel V3, and in my opinion I've gone backwards in this shoe, it's stiff, it's not cushioning on my feet at all. I had 330 miles on my V3's and I should have just bought another pair of those, but I fell into the hyperbole internet marketing whizz bang, and this was a purchase that I'm just not happy I made. At least once I get to the mileage I need to be at for these, I can ditch them, and move back to the Rebel V3 or the new Rebel V4. I guess I'm just a New Balance guy.

At least it's not expensive. But I would take Reebok any day of the week. I guess it's about the midsole foam? Yes, it's me again, the Captain Obvious aka Sherlock. I'm renowned for being able of deconstructing the obvious, that's how I got my nickname.

How would you compare it ro rhe puma velocity v2 (except fron the outsole which seems far better on rhe puma)?
