I purchased these shoes three weeks ago. I am flat footed and an over pronator. The first run with them, I just wanted to run three miles. But I felt so good I ran eight miles. And it’s been like this ever since. These running shoes have been the first to give my feet the right amount of stability and comfort. Excellent shoes and the price is on point. No more pain, priceless.

Thank you for this review! I was diagnosed wtih stage 4 cancer and got a new hip in Jan. Was able to start walking again a few weeks ago and my other Saucony's (i had for 4 years and loved them) were not working. The Tempus arrived and has literally been a life changer for an old walker like me. Your review and others convince me to try them...boy what a shoe!

Hi Seth! I’ve had this shoe for just over a week now and I love it. My QoD shoe has been the endorphin shift. I also run in the speed but found it too unstable. For me the tempus is the perfect trade off between the two shoes.

QD: The Saucony Ride 15 has become my favorite Saucony shoe. After breaking it in, it’s definitely softer than any of the other PWRRUN midsole foam shoes I’ve ran in. The PWRRUN+ sock liner is amazing. The upper is light and breathable. Lockdown is solid. Perfect amount of outsole rubber. The shoe can handle all sorts of different workouts. I can pick up the pace and it’s responsive enough to handle it, but if I want to use them on a nice, slow, easy run, they are soft enough to handle that as well. It’s a very well rounded and balanced daily trainer… and they look good. We all know, if it doesn’t look good, you’re not going to like running in them.
@TylerEubank
@TylerEubank Год назад
That’s surprising bc everything Ive read on the Ride is that it’s a firm midsole and not easy and not bouncy
@RobertHarridge
@RobertHarridge Год назад
@@TylerEubank the midsole takes about 20 miles to break in. It’s not as soft as FF Blast or Blast+. It’s about on par with Nike React, but the difference is the sock liner. It’s about 3-5mm thick of PWRRUN+, the same stuff used in the midsole of the Triumph. That really gives the ride a cushioned and slightly bouncy feel to it… and I’ve kept the sock liners and use them in other shoes now. They are that good.

I still love running in the Saucony Endo speed v1. I have 2 pairs of the v2 patiently waiting their turns. The overall build quality isn't the same as an Asics or adidas, but Saucony knows how to make a shoe feel good. If I ran in stability shoes, the tempus would probably be my choice.

overpronator here and need a stability shoe. Saucony retired the Hurricane and the Tempus is the replacement though from the specs you provided, it doesn't really seem like a replacement. QD: I ran my first Half, the 2018 B.A.A. Half in the Guide 10 (fluorescent lime/yellow). Great support, firm foam with good response, higher stack height, snug/comfortable/padded upper & high stability running sneaker. The Omni II (Royal Blue), became my next Saka-knee, and predecessor as my daily trainer/race sneaker. It comes with mild support, foot bed is closer to the ground, so slightly better ground contact/response, good padding around the heel collar. Feels like a slightly more stripped back, faster sneaker vs the Guide 10 & ran my first marathon in them. My third pair are the Cony Endorphin Pro 2 (Campfire) with the carbon plate. This has become my race day & PR sneaker. I did 4 half marathon races, for 4 weeks straight, and PR’d in 3/4. Then raced in the 2022 B.A.A. Half and PR’d again! 🔥 The sneaker is super light, provides soft/good cushion with the PB foam, while also stable with the carbon plate. I get good bounce, and energy return from the plate. Though in order for you to really maximize that energy return/get the most out of the sneaker, you have to run with good technique & faster pace/foot cadence. Drawbacks, I would say the lock down can be better, maybe more protection around the tongue, and just a little loose around the toe box. Though I do prefer the extra space rather then jamming up my pinky toe. Also, not sure how I feel about taking this sneaker beyond 12-15 miles. It could get uncomfortable after that point for me, it’s the type of sneaker that is meant to move/run at a faster pace for it to feel natural/comfortable. To pick one, I would say you have to pick the right tool for the job. 👟 #ConyAllDay

Pretty much the endorphin speed 3 with no nylon plate! Yes, I said it. The Endorphin Speed series has become more wider and more stable, and less of a true neutral shoe like its predecessor. I am not a fan of the new speed 3, I feel they have revamped it too much, they wanted to make the Nylon plate wider...but why? It seems like the Tempus is a great shoe. I might have to check it out sometimes. Seems like it is a good easy run distance shoes to log in miles, however the "tempus" title can make one think it is more for tempo training? --who knows. I just wish Saucony would learn to stick with something, and stop reinventing the wheel with every two years...

I just received the Tempus and was disappointed in the lack of stability compared to the Endorphin Shift 2, a big surprise as the Tempus has been advertised as a stability shoe. I also felt a better over all fit and stability in the Shift 2, having an excessive pronated narrow left foot (very weird). I'm in a very specific niche with my feet situation. I also tried on the Guide 15 yesterday and didn't feel the stability that I need. (I wear orthotics) Both great shoes but I hope other will have better luck with the Tempus.

I have flat feet and always struggled with lateral foot pain when running in non stability shoes. Hence why, when I saw a speedy stability shoe my eyes lit up. I'm looking for a versatile stability shoe which will fix my foot pain while giving me versatility and speed for uptempo runs. I am wondering if the stability and support on this shoe is adequate for my issues and struggles with flat feet. Is this the right shoe for me? My previous shoe which worked for me is the nike structure 23. Thanks for the help.

If you check the channel Doctors of Running, they're more focused on the stability aspect of shoes. Other than that, you're gonna have to try it on and walk with it at a running store and see if it works for your specific foot shape.

I heard the arch on this shoe is built up. I have flat feet and I don’t like when the arch is built up because it’s rubs and gives me blisters. Something to consider if your looking at this shoe. I have had success with the, brooks glycerin, new balance prism, ASICS evo ride 2, and the ASICS glideride 2. Those last two don’t have any traditional stabile features but I can run in them because their just inherently stable. Out of all those shoes the prism and the evo ride would probably be most likely to work for up temp stuff.
@Discomattisace

As mentioned this does have a built up arch on the medial side and it is noticeable at first. I have regular arches and felt it. However after a couple of runs I’ve totally forgotten it’s there and you don’t feel it on the run. The stability aspect is mild and more guide like. The sole is as wide as the endorphin shift so a nice wide base to run on. Very bouncy and I’m impressed so far. It’s a fun shoe.

@veins91
@veins91 2 года назад
@@jeezlouise2296 Yes, well feet are feet theyre all the same but when you overpronate it means your feet collapse inwards while running/walking which put a strain on your tendons in the interior of your foot near your arch. I suffer from this so (my left is more sever than right foot) if I go on a 13 plus mile run in a neutral shoe within an few hours the ligament on the inside of my left foot near my arch is extremely sore. Did 13 miles in a neutral shoe yesterday, immediately sore. 17 mile long run last week in an Arahi 5 (stability shoe similar to this) no soreness whatsoever.

@@veins91 Exact same with the overpronation! I'm glad you explained. Most don't understand it. Also, my left foot turns more inward than my right. I got a new running analysis just today hoping for a slight change and NOTHING. Still the same! So I'm excited for this tempus, it's the closest we'll get to a racing stability shoe. I wore Ahari for almost 4 years and i found it tough to rotate shoes. Once you wear them, your feet get really used to all that cushion. I like to rotate different shoes for my training cycles. My feet were killing my after wearing Ahari and trying to transition to another stability everyday runner. So I spent the last 2 years running in the Saucony Hurricane and then found out a couple of months ago it was retired and would be replaced with the Tempus but lighter and faster and was super excited.

I Just wanted to give an update on my thoughts of the Saucony Tempus. I just surpassed 200 miles on them this morning and I have to say I am really enjoying the ride. I’ve used them as my workhorse shoe, running mostly steady miles in them. But I have used them on really easy days, long runs and uptempo days. I think Saucony is nailing their approach to stability with this shoe. Not too much where it’s clunky and uncomfortable, but not on the other end with neutral shoes either where if you over pronate you feel unstable or develop niggles. They are very breathable in the upper but I will say the heal counter seems a touch too deep making it feel like it could cradle or hug the heal a little better if it were a touch shallower. I think this shoe would be a great addition to the plated shoe platform for stability runners if Saucony ventures down such a road and would set the bar high for any other company looking to add a plated stability shoe to their lineup in the future. That brings me to the price point though. If this shoe had a plate added then $160 would seem like more of a bang for you buck, but I think this shoe plateless would fare better with a price point in the $130-$140 range. Overall I would give this shoe an 8/10 for anyone wanting a little stability and a lot of “ability”!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
