It saved my life back then and it continues to save my life now. Like i said in my comment, Savage Garden has no idea what impact this song has had on so many and it still has the same impact today in 2023

This was my and my husband's song. He left this world way too soon at 37 just last week. He would play this song whenever I was going through something tough. He had tamed my wild heart 13 years ago. We had almost 11 years of wedded bliss. I am missing him so completely right now and this song will always be ours.
March 2021. This is one of my light at the end of the tunnel songs. I come back to it again and again, to lift me up and fly away with me into the light.
Anyone else on a Savage Garden binge in 2022??? I loved this band back in the day, but appreciate Darren's beautiful, poetic lyrics so much more now. "If you need to crash then crash and burn you're not alone" ❤
I was going to comment something similar to this. I was 13 when this song came out and it was so important to me because it was the first time I saw someone say it's okay to not be okay and to need help from someone else. Thank you, Darren and Daniel.
3:13 the moment when Darren Hayes breaks into sign language just tears me up. I remember standing in front of the TV when this video would play and learning the moves. It literally felt like I was reaching out beyond just regular words to tell someone "Let me be the one to call..." Maybe I was reaching to the universe, maybe I was reaching out to myself, but I don't think any music video has made me feel so connected. The video in hindsight is also one of the best of the era. It's got those weird people in it, and as the quote goes "broken people fix broken people". Thank you SG. This band was woke before it was cool and became uncool.
Sign language is very dear to me as the mother of a Deaf child. To see it show up in a video of one of my favorite songs as a teen is perfect beyond words.
I've spent the last two years struggling. The lines 'there's always been heartache and pain, but when it's over you'll breathe again' keep me going. 🥰😍 I was in college when this song hit it big and it's a life theme still.
My whole Childhood I was depressed this song help me in so many ways this song could never get old an angel is planted in this song... anyone going through depression just remember it's going to be okay 🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@melissabee4152 I was think more like playgrounds, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, and the Christmas spirit but i agree y2k rumors is way better than the Coronavirus 😂
@@nightnday6675 not all kids, im today's kid and dont have shitty taste and i hear good music from then and only maybe a few from today's songs are nice very few and rare.

This song can never get old I forgot about this song but it was a random that was next after a song my auntie was listneing to n I was get I why did you skip that song it was good, come to realize if the song is good I'll find it. I found it by listening to the first five to six words they said before she change the song lol
TO THIS DAY....The signing part ALWAYS gets me tearing up. Savage Garden made it possible for those who can't hear to be included in this beautiful message!!!!
Lyrics: When you feel all alone And the world has turned its back on you Give me a moment please To tame your wild, wild heart I know you feel like the walls are closing in on you It's hard to find relief And people can be so cold When darkness is upon your door And you feel like you can't take anymore Let me be the one you call If you jump I'll break your fall Lift you up and fly away with you into the night If you need to fall apart I can mend a broken heart If you need to crash then crash and burn, you're not alone When you feel all alone And a loyal friend is hard to find You're caught in a one-way street With the monsters in your head When hopes and dreams are far away And you feel like you can't face the day Let me be the one you call If you jump I'll break your fall Lift you up and fly away with you into the night If you need to fall apart I can mend a broken heart If you need to crash then crash and burn, you're not alone 'Cause there has always been heartache and pain And when it's over you'll breathe again You'll breathe again When you feel all alone And the world has turned its back on you Give me a moment please To tame your wild, wild heart Let me be the one you call If you jump I'll break your fall Lift you up and fly away with you into the night If you need to fall apart I can mend a broken heart If you need to crash then crash and burn, you're not alone Let me be the one you call If you jump I'll break your fall Lift you up and fly away with you into the night If you need to fall apart I can mend a broken heart And if you need to crash then crash and burn, you're not alone (Alone) Let me be the one you call If you jump I'll break your fall (You're not alone) Lift you up and fly away with you into the night (No, no) (You're never alone) If you need to fall apart I can mend a broken heart (You're not alone) If you need to crash then crash and burn, you're not alone Let me be the one you call If you jump I'll break your fall Lift you up and fly away with you into the night If you need to fall apart (You're not alone) I can mend a broken heart (No, no) And if you need to crash then crash and burn (You're never alone) You're not alone Let me be the one you call If you jump I'll break your fall Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
Lost my husband to cancer a few months ago. Have always loved SG and just listened to this one for the first time in a while. For 15 years we both were there for each other, helping each other through any hard times that arose. Fortunately for us we had the best years of our life while we were together and I miss him more than life itself!
TheElle05 and because there are so ridiculously many videos on youtube, that there could be a report of major natural disaster, or war and still pass relatively unnoticed.
I am not sure that would be the case. Probably most of them would be preoccupied by the latest iPhone, the terrorist threat, who won the Oscar, and if Kim's are real or fake. And how will they increase their yt hits.
This is my husband‘s favourite song. He passed away eight years ago, and I still listen to his songs and I still like these songs very much. They’re very uplifting very sad and someways for me for they were my husbands favourite songs before I met him we were together for 32 years, and then I lost him, I miss him so much and somehow someway Connect me back in a small way, but we have a connection for life for when I go. We will be back together again. I am just waiting for that day to come. It is not my time yet, but it will be eventually when that day does come. I can’t wait for I love him miss him want him and I need him ❤️🩵🇦🇺🏳️🌈
One of the strongest lyrics in the history of music industry, I'm 80's kid, this song meant a lot for us by the time we hit the 20's. It defined our lifestyle and the problems we were struggling with. Real artists, real music, legends. Love how Darren sticks his face to the camera in most of his videos with his cheeky smile, the guy is a natural.
I so agree. I was born in 89. So I was a tween when this came out. It meant a lot to me. I have bi polar so being stuck with the monster in my head really hit This song says has and always will mean so much to me.
Dear sweet, Darren...You were SO far ahead of your time. Your words are a miracle of truth and beauty. Deep Gratitude to you....your gorgeous music will be felt for eons to come. Thank You.
Лето 2024 слушаю эту песню какая красивая и какой же он талантливый и красивый певец какой голос жаль что сейчас не поёт привет вам из Эстонии надеюсь что жив и здоров.ах какой мужчина.
Just think about how many lives and souls were saved by this song! Darren and Daniel, you had (and I am sure that you still have) such an uncredible power sent from above ❤️❤️
Please bring back the 90s for the love of God! I love your music Savage Garden. You guys are the true meaning of what represented to live in the late 90s (1997-1998 to be exact). You guys are awesome.....love this song and love my 90s generation. The 90s was a revolution and a movement that will live on until I die. Long live the 90s and Savage Garden. God Bless!
This song has carried me through some of the worst times in my life, and I'm eternally grateful for it's creation. I love Darren and will always remain a Savage Garden fan. Such an uplifting song.
This song takes me back to being a confused, lonely, and angry teenager. I'm so glad that things got better. If you are reading this and feeling the same, things will get better trust me.
I’m 37 & this isn’t the typical music I would listen to, but I remembered the band tonight from my youth and looked them up again. It’s a shame we don’t have anything like this for the current era. I’m sure this song helped a great many people hold on when things felt hopeless.
I cried when I first listened to this song. I was at my darkest times: bullied, alone, and helpless.. this song helped me to face all my demons to become what i am now: strong, confident and wise. The end of this video makes a lot of sense... when troubled, communicate in any way, anyhow.
You made it! Your a winner. Life throws shit at you...you got up and carried on. DON'T EVER FORGET THIS.....YOUR A WINNER. ....And you've great musical taste!
Reading these comments makes me realize how truly blessed I was: To have lived during one of the GREATEST MUSIC ERA. Having the privilege to listen to Savage Garden. I have great memories to reflect- nothing but talent.Tbank you Darren {Savage Garden) for sharing your gift of music w/us.
This is not the sort of music or voice I usually like at all, but the sentiment behind so many of the Savage Garden songs feels so human and kind and genuine that I can't help but love them. Listening to this song feels like being hugged by a parent who'll love you no matter what. =)
I love the genuinity and honesty in the lyrics. They are always ahead of their time. It feels so new age and spiritual. Nostalgia is rushing in. Gosh! I miss the '90s and early millennium
The part of the video that says "Stay connected" -- How true. We live in a generation that would rather talk on social media than pick up the phone and call someone...
Woah, this song is deep! So different form the mainstream music that we usually hear now which are mostly about break ups, having fun and sex. A proud 90s kid here.
+Mei Li That's the 90s for you man. I absolutely miss it. The 90s artists used music as a tool to send a message to our generation and things have changed from then. TLC Unpretty is another song just like this.
Ashley Faminial OMG, yaas! I've never really heard about them until now. (Actually thought TLC is just a TV network.) Thanks! My 5-year old self would've been thrilled to listen to it! :D
Your songs will forever have a special place in my heart. Depression hits me so hard. This song really helps. I really wish someone would hold me and say these words to me.
They're songs are a classic. They have not one but many great songs. I can just sit and listen to their songs over and over. Even after 15 years of when I first listened to them I still love their songs. I really would buy a ticket to their concert if they ever do a show again.
Omg the ASL at the end was beautifully added into this. I love it. Living in a town where the biggest Deaf and Blind school is. Song was from the 90s. Back here in 2024.
This song has a very special place in me. Whenever life seems too hard to handle this song always delivers hope. I wonder if the guys know how many people have managed to cope by listening to the caring words in this song.
I don't think it really matters how many people found the strength to carry on through this song... If you ask me, it matters more than people COULD find strength they didn't know they had just by hearing this song xD
OMG OMG nearly 60 year old woman still loving those Blue Eyes that penetrate your soul. Beautiful song and sign language is just so special. They are talking to everyone wow

I think every girl in the 90s loved Darren. I was 7 when to the moon and back was released and I was adamant I was going to marry him one day. I was heartbroken when he announced he was gay haha. Still love him though, amazing performer.
@@teganboundy9263 Not just every girl. This gay guy was in his mid to late teens back in the Savage Garden days and had very much the _opposite_ reaction to being heartbroken when Darren announced he was gay. 😅
dec 2022. i 'member growing up seeing this and thinking "if the 90s are so cool, imagine how much more awesome the 2000s+ will be." welp, it seems mortals hope, and the gods laugh. it's an honor to have lived through the peak of western civilization with you. good luck to us all during the coming dark ages.
This video saved more life’s than the church been listening since the 90 s and sharing with friends... I think this guys should be sainted.. In the name of all of those who have felt all alone since the 90s and still going on with loving kindness.. I Proclaim this is a Holy Chant May it carry you all through your darkest nights.. you are not alone
This song is almost 25 years, next year will be. It*s 2023 but in 1999 I was 18. Uff, I remember that cinema, Bluckbuster, no cel phone, no Internet like today. Amazing times
Listen to the lyrics, to me, it's a song that would help someone who's struggling with problem(s) and Darren opens the door to help you seek out someone that could help you. Darren's a great soul and heart. He even gave his words to the deaf, so they reach out. Thank you Darren ❤
Something about his voice gets me going with deep emotion. The first part "when you feel all alone.." gets me from 0 - 100% tapped into deep emotion in seconds.
I was 13 when this song got released and now I'm having hard times in my 30s I still can return to this song for solace and assurance that I can get through my issues. Can't thank SG enough for that.
I dedicated this song to my best friend, she was going through a difficult time and she desperately needed someone to say everything's going to be okay, I'm here for you. She was about to do something horrible. I think a lot of people need that, a friend who accepts them as they are and will listen to them no matter how crazy the words from your mouth are going to be.
I remember when this song came out. I was in my teens and going through a rough patch. Family was no help. This song came up on the radio. It was like some external source telling me I’ll be ok.
These brothers used to be my idols. I was 5 when I purchased their first LP. Took me three months of saving up my allowance and paper rout. They were my idols. About two months after purchasing their second album on CD, I was torn apart about their split. I still sing truly, madly, deeply in my head (and humming it aloud) in my head every time I'm beside my wife, holding her hand.
