This is the highest HP Vette ever made that I am aware of that is naturally aspirated and paired with a true manual transmission. THIS car is truly special and GM may never make anything like it ever again. I expect to see these cars going for over $100k used market in about 10 years. .....and sure as $H_T sounds a whole lot better than the c8.

As a proud owner of a velocity yellow 08' Z06 I will agree its an amazing car and value-wise really nothing comes close. I've owned 2 Z51 C6's and one GrandSport before I jumped to the Z06 and my only regret is that I didn't make the switch sooner. That LS7 just screams and revs so much quicker than the LS2 or LS3 and the extra power and reduced weight really make a difference.

This was the last car my late twin brother fell in love with before it took his life. It’s always makes me emotional every time I see a c6z

I use my C6 Z06 as a weapon on the Nordschleife, built LS7 and Öhlins TTX chassi, Porsches are rounding bois... I love it and wouldn't have anything else.

Chevy's LS motors are like Hondas D series and B series motors. Legos. Different heads on different blocks gives you different ranges of power.

I know these are fighting words but I love my C6Z. So much more planted than my 2013 mustang GT was. It’s such a purpose built track monster and it’s so amazing how it hooks on the drag strip. Even on the run flats, first time ever on a drag strip and as long as I kept it straight and worked the clutch decently the car just pulls and pulls and hooks.

I have always loved and wanted a Corvette and it took me 58 years but I just purchased a cammed 2005 C6 in Daytona Orange that was dyno tuned with 464 horse power at the wheels! I personally think the C6 is the best looking and absolutely love mine! Great review!

Sweet, my son had a built 08 Z06, I was in that car at ooo mph, and it had more. He has moved on to a C7 Z06, me I'm happy with my 1990 ZR-1. 👍👍🏁🏁 The apple don't fall far from the tree, we are going to drive the dragons tail and blue Ridge Parkway together, a little father son time. My ZR-1 is going to spank that C7 Z06, lol. 😳😁🤔. We be a vette family!!

My dreamcar for sure! One small problem...I live in the Netherlands. Super rare car. Prices for an old C06 start at $50K. Taxes, insurence and gass prices are crazy high. But still I would love to own C6 ZO6 one day

C6 and C5 Zo6s are ultimate performance and crazy fun value. That if one can get a non completely abused one.

Absolute best competition would be a C63 AMG. A bit heavier but big displacement, tons of torque, floats in the top end, and handles like a dream. I've seen used C63s going for 20-30k.

Bought my 2012 Inferno Orange Metallic convertible GS C6 three years ago when I turned 65.. has the mag ride and dual exhaust. Had motorcycles until the Vette, so my midlife crisis just a way of continuing to having some fun. Last year had it supercharged with a Vortex unit, full headers, and tune. Now I have more power than a ZR1, yet have a convertible for those nice days. 345s in the rear and she's a handful when your in it.. it's just a damn fun car! To me the C6 is just a classy chassis... enjoyed your video!

I have owned many cars...and driven just about everything. I now have a H/C/I c6 Z06. All Texas speed equipment. Long tubes, Corsa Extremes. Lowered on C7 z06 Wheels. The car is just nasty. 640 whp, 3,000LBS. For the money, nothing can touch it.

C6 generation 997 generation Current GTR generation, lol Even some Mercedes and BMW of that time... (the f80 was dope!...), All modern classics IMO. A definite high point! While the Corvette has gotten better, it isn't more desirable (expect for maybe the c8, we'll see); same with Porsche. The 997 is the last desirable modern/water cooled Porsche imo. I think we'll look back at these car fondly in the next 10 to 20 years.

Seriously C6 is perfect. Built C6 ZR1 is why God let us have cars. Like honestly Fran of RPM had THE perfect ZR1 in my opinion and that car destroyed everything but like 1400hp GTRs... with like 860hp and no spray. Then he put a 2650... made over 1000hp and sold it to a guy in Florida because baby and house but my God that car was perfect... I need a damn C6 as my summer car and have my SS for the... other summer car... I also need to move to Georgia so we can get NOT winter.

I always hated Vettes till the C5. The C6 made me fall in love with them.

My favorite generation. C7's are nice too but a bit to busy on design for me. Also I just can't get into the C8's. Just not a good looking car in my opinion...

the c6 z06 is the nastiest all motor car GM has ever made. Exactly why I bought one.

I just got a 08 Z06 in Charlotte NC.

The c6 across the trim line is my favorite car. It offers awesome looks, performance, sound, and good reliability that is hard to match for the dollar.

"DSG Farts" are ignition cuts to prevent the gearbox from grinding itself, since they generally shift quite fast.

So for someone who doesn’t know a crazy amount about ls motors. Why go from a ls7 to a built ls3? Why not just build the ls7?

I have a '13 427 vert and love the transmission/shifter/clutch setup on it (once I changed out the crap GM master cylinder). I keep thinking about modding it with maybe a H/C/I setup but every time I drive it I think I'm reminded of how nearly perfect it is stock. If I want crazy/stupid, I just get in my 570rwhp Cobra Termie.

Strap an f1x and it'll be golden! Kinda the natural progression car from the Termi now that old farts started dumping the Z06s. Just thought you would do an LS7 car

I love the interior on my C6Z, 3LZ stitched dash option and it's a million times nicer than my 2013 5.0's interior. 2008 and up C6Z's are perfect

I’ve been trying to figure out what wheels are on this car but I just can’t make out the name in the center cap - What brand?

I've got an 2006 Nissan 350Z auto with 70K - It's in super nice condition and I've gone through with a fine tooth comb. I've really thought of supercharging which would take from 287hp to 412hp. The SC kit is over 7K and that would put well over 20K invested in the car including purchase price(7,600.00) I really like the C6, so I'm on the fence of selling the 350Z before I get too much deeper in it and just buying a C6 Z06.

Call me crazy, but I feel like these videos are a little too short. For some reason the sweet spot with your content seems to be about 14 minutes (although maybe the youtube metrics say otherwise). Once the video ended I was immediately thinking "wait what, it's already over?". And that's been becoming a common thing for a while now. Still great content, I just wish there was more :).

Odd setup for sure. I don't get why they would go ls3 but then put the problematic ls7 heads on there (valve drop issues). ls3 heads would have been a better fit IMO. I think you would have had just as much fun running my base model 08. I've got the same trans, pretty wicked cam, long tubes, bolt-ons and tune (514whp). Either way, that is a sick looking car, wish I had the wide body fenders on mine. You're videos are always awesome!

Owned a 2006 Z06 for two years. Beautiful car the C6 Z06 is the best looking corvette. Unless you’re going fast it’s not a great place to spend a lot of time. Really Noisy powertrain, numb steering, stiff suspension, and the t56 is not a smooth gearbox but if I had the means to keep it just to look at it and drive it occasionally I definitely would have. If you can get a newer C6 Z06 with the magnetic ride and the tr6060. I know it’s heavier but if you want to put miles on it, they’re the ones to get.

I recently purchased a C6Z over the C7Z because of the N/A, the 7.0L engine, the analog feel of it.. and quite frankly, to me it's a better looking car.

I love the Z06, but no one ever does a good review on the C6 Z51 LS3 the car that I have, because many people still cosider it a base model when in theory it really is'nt. To me its all about the wheel size combination that throws the Z51 under the bus, because the the LS3 is a very potent, brutal and very mean motor but just a little less throatier than the LS7 but still sounds equally as good. Seriously though I own a 2008 C6 Z51 and on the track it is as equally as potent on the track as a C6 Z06 with the right modifications and savvy driver. Mostly in the wheel setup and tire configuration and suspension is the where the focus needs to be addressed on the Z51. Its just doesnt have the robust wheel and brake or suspension as the Z06, but does have the same transmission as the Z06 which i believe is the overall deciding factor as to why the Z51 is actually a beast in its own right. "The transmission"! The base model does not have the Z06 transmission like i have therefore i have the tighter gear ratios like the Z06 unlike the base model with a different final drive and longer gear ratios. Why they call my model the Z51 track package is relatively due to the slightly better suspension and brakes and i am assuming the Z06 transmission that I thankfully have.

Proud owner of a Lund tuned H/C/I 09’ C6Z, and I could never make myself sell it. Something about a 427 with a 7k+ rev limiter just gets me going 😩

C8 is undoubtedly best Corvette and Z06 will be super great. But we'll have to wait for prices to drop. And you still have compromises of midengine car. So C6 basically is best project car you can buy, it can do anything: drag racing, drifting, autocross, time attack, club racing, airstrip attack, street pulling, you name it, it will be a fine daily too. Nothing like it for the buck, especially early 6.0 models. Z06 with its aluminum chassis is just ultimate track car for the money. It is a level of 997 GT3 RS and 991 GT3 with coilovers and some weight reduction. And it looks great too. Even here in Russia Z06 with built motor holds time attack lap record of Sochi Autodrom F1 track. The amount of mechanical grip potential GM put in that chassis is insane. ZR1 is just great collectable and neat supercar. As for the interior, you can always reupholster it with leather and neatly assemble it. You get the idea, it's not the nicest car from factory (cuz GM) but for the money you pay (I hope they won't skyrocket) nothing comes close to the potential of that package Corvette team made. And C7 Z06 was just miss. It's basically ZR1 but worse. And I'm a massive Porsche fan, but I'm a massive Corvette fan too. And you can always go for a C5. Chassis is basically the same, motor is still LS, suspension is nearly the same, it still has T56 which is less cool brother of TR6060, the overall package is slightly bigger and heavier and more cruiser-like but also noticeably cheaper. But Z06 doesn't have aluminum body and coupe just overall looks weird unlike fastback targa body.

“Best car for the money”...? I’m not totally convinced , if someone is looking for a decent mileage c6z , look to spend atlest 40k, Around the same price range you can pick up a 10-12 gt500 or a high mileage 13-14 Shelby. 🤷🏽‍♂️, I’ve never driven a c6z so I’m not knocking on it, I’ve heard great things about them , the only downside is the head issue and outdated interior

Sweet car, but at the cost, its collector status old car, and at that point your paranoid to drive it or park it anywhere, after 6 months, you sell cause the anxiety and buy an old c5 or 4.6 stang. Being real me and other dreamers buy these and vipers, yhen you have to be paranoid of any scratch or dust dpeckle. Just buy and already modded old c5 or stang and have alot more fun and just as fast🤷🏼‍♂️

I've got a Charger Hellcat due to the family. I need a stick fun car, it's between this and the same years Vipers.
