Hi Izzy......for sure, it really is a great place. On one of our trips there, we stayed at the Marriott hotel which was just a bit further walk down the river from the waving lady statue. It had a 2 or 3 story indoor vaulted ceiling. My kids were like 4 and 8 then. You walk out of your 3rd floor room and look down into the indoor pool. The kids thought they were in some royalty hotel. If you stay a few nights in Charleston on your next trip down , I highly recommend the James Island County Park. It won't be as quiet as this Red Gate Farm, but it too has plenty of room to wander (a square mile of property). The spaces are treed, there is a dog park which includes some lake access, and there is a meandering pathway through the low country reed areas. It is also a decent central location midway between the downtown and Folly Beach. Charleston too is smoking hot in the summer! I remember going there with my wife before a deployment. It was honestly too hot to walk out on the beach that day #$%^#$%^
