Very informative doctor! Question, are these products effective for all skin types? Because I have sensitive combined skin, so I am very careful with using new products.
@@kittenwu8527 I don't have that much to spend on fancier products but some people can such as wealthy people and this doctor needs an income too and those wealthy people are his market audience.
50% of the comments: Dr. Youn is reliable and trustworthy. Definitely solid advice. 30%: I'm so broke, I can't afford these products at all 20%: Dr. Youn is so cute
I really respect you for giving us affordable options, and not just pushing your own line. Although, when I start making more money I will remember your kindness, and your skincare line ;) I am in love with all your videos! Thank you!
I just love the way he explains everything in a clear and very concise manner without beating around the bush unlike some other channels that I've come across... 😃 Edit: new subscriber here..🙋
@@OpiumBride actually skin is the largest organ - bad skin can lead to infection. For someone like me, who has eczema and rashes open/cracked/dry skin is a no no. Good skin is vital as it's out first line of defence. There's plenty of other reasons
It’s 2:30am here in Korea and I was catching up with my online lectures.....”was”, until I came on RU-vid and found your channel! This is my first time watching your video and this is the first time I actually don’t feel guilty for going on RU-vid at this time😭 Thanks for such priceless information. As a med student I hope I become an influential doctor like you☺️
@@Skaniathespartan i just checked because it was suggested by my dermatologist, too. The cera ve foaming facial cleanser has two different parabens in it. Parabens can increase the likelihood of infertility and disrupt the body's natural hormones. I dont know if their other face washes have them, too, but I know the foaming facial cleanser does.
Thanks for mentioning parabens. I just checked the face wash I use every day- that was suggested to me by my dermatologists- and saw that two different parabens are in it. That made me do some quick internet research and I found out they makes my symptoms of pcos worse. I've been fighting against pcos and messed up hormone levels since I was 15. The acne caused by it made me go to the dermatologist. They knew I had pcos and still subscribed to me a face wash with multiple parabens in it, which research suggests reduce the length of a woman's menstrual cycle. I didn't get a menstrual cycle until I went to the gyno and found out I had pcos. I've been taking birth control ever since, so that I would force my body to menstruate. Who would have thought that my face wash was fighting against me this whole time.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for transforming my skin with your suggestions. For over 10 years I’ve struggled to get rid of the small bumps all over my skin and these products got rid of them and made my skin look and feel like I never imagined possible. I am newly engaged and more than ever felt the pressure to fix this textured skin. After purchasing the retinol and facial scrub and using them in the order you recommended I was able to get the skin I’ve dreamed of in a short time. I owe you everything! Thank you thank you thank you 🙏🏻🥺❤️
So I used the Cera Ve resurfacing retinol serum & put it on about 8pm & by 11pm looked in the mirror & I swear I had wrinkles ! I'm 33 yrs old & don't really have any wrinkles but literally on my cheeks gave me wrinkles!! Is this something that is common at first? I've heard of "retinol ugliness" at first as far as giving break outs at first or redness & dryness BUT haven't heard of anyone else actually GETTING wrinkles from the first time?!
@@WarmongerYT that's absolutely normal - it's pure Vit A - it kills a layer of skin hence why you are seeing that crape look. Make sure always use an SPF 50 sunscreen and moisturizer as it will dry out your kin
Dr. Youn, you will never know how much I appreciate this video. When I get through this period, I will be purchasing your products because they are made with the consciousness in which I live but can not afford at the moment. This video shows you are confident in your abilities!❤
I’ve just recently found your RU-vid channel after discovering your podcast years ago. Thank you for all your helpful advice and information, Dr. Youn! You are always so entertaining and informative and have a genuine, kind vibe 😊 take care and stay safe!
Dr. Youn was trying to trick you into buying his products. And here are the reasons why: 1) If you have been watching videos and read his replies when people are asking about other products that are not his, he would say I do not recommend other products besides mine, or along those lines. Yet, he showed a product that’s not his on the video about eye bags with other products that are his just like he did now. 2) The idea and first part of this video is about using inexpensive products while in quarantine, but at the end, he suggests his own products which are all very expensive. 3) Vitamin C serum is good for skin. He gives an example of Vichy, but at the end, he implies that his vitamin C is superior than others because it contains vitamin E. For your information vitamin C is very unstable and much more easily oxidized in liquid forms than other forms such as creams. Hence, pretty much most of the vitamin C products that come in liquid form need vitamin E and ferulic acid as “stabilizers,” and retinol cream contains moisturizers, as does sunscreen. Dr. Youn seems to offer cheaper alternatives, but in the end, he tries to lead you to his line of products, which again, are very expensive. It just seems he contradicts himself in this video, saying on the one hand, “here’s some inexpensive products to use,” and on the other hand saying, “but if you want to splurge and be nice to yourself, here’s my effective (but crazy expensive) products.” That seems to be a bit of a letdown. Also, again, he has said he doesn’t recommend products other than his own, yet, here he presents several products that are not his.
Scrubs can be easily be over exfoliating. There's a cheaper chemical exfoliant for every day use called the ordinary 5% lactic acid. If a product has a dramatic affect after use its probably bad for your skin in the long term
@@Eriktheonly personally I cannot use chemic exfoliants exclusivly. After a while my skin gets clogged from all the dead skin just sitting on top. You have to go in with a gentle physical scrub once in a while to run off that dead layer just sitting on top

@@jorgehurtado7002 it’s not because their Asian they have naturally smooth acne free skin but they also take really good care of their health and skin..
I just wanted to take moment, to say thank u for ur time and energy. Videos r time consuming, and they r a lot of hard work. I watch my friend do it. Yuk!!!!!! Too much work!!!!! So, thank u so much for trying to help us not lose our minds, or become a homeicdle maniac. U make me happy too. Smile n laughter, is always my best medicine.
Add pinch of baking soda to water it will be better to drink. Water this days has no minerals or pinch of pink salt. You will notice skin more radiant.
Omg! Right! He seems to legitimately care. He isn’t trying to push us into his products, which are no doubt fabulous, but would cost me half a month’s wages. (Some day I’ll be able to afford...)I love my skin, but I also love having a roof over my head too.
yes. it was very kind of him. especially at a time like this and some folks push things on us that we do not need. so what he has posted is super cool and awesome.
-Cleanser without parabin -Use Vitamin c -Sunscreen Cleanser in night Retinol cream as anti aging( retina) Then moisturizer if needed Scrub ( once a week) -Vitamin e.
Thank you so much for such honest and real recommendations. So far I've been listening to all the hypes on social media that rain or shine , inside or outside you need sunscreen. you're the only one saying don't need SC if you are indoor, which sounds logical. THANK YOU
i have it too, i actually hate it because it doesn't get my makeup off. But i'm the type of person who can't waste stuff so i have to use it all before i buy something new.
I was always told by my dermatologist to wear SPF even if I was inside all day because of the sun coming in from the windows. To save money, I have an "expensive" SPF that works great under makeup, and an inexpensive sunscreen that I wear on my neck and on my days when I'm home and not really interacting with anyone. Kudos if you buy a moisturizer with SPF.
This human being is amazing. While other people try to shove their skin care line on you, this man offers cheaper alternatives to his line. Well you know what Dr.? I trust you a lot for the fact that you care about others health and it’s not about money to you.
I still just love this guy! He’s great! I’m in Canada🇨🇦 and unfortunately cannot get his skincare line.😢 But that is wonderful that he suggests alternatives and doesn’t just push his product.🤩🤩
Dr. Youn is my greatest find. The only good thing that has happened in 2020 for so many people. His Holistic Plastic Surgery podcast is sooo informative.
Just purchased the Cetaphil cleanser, the CeraVe retinol serum, and the Vichy vitamin C. It’s actually more than I would normally spend but I trust Dr. Youn and desperately need some skin care help. 🙂👍
Thank u so much Dr Yuen. I just found you and I absolutely love that you don't push all the expensive products that,.let's be honest, are only available for the rich & the famous. You show us normal everyday ladies & gentlemen that we too can have great beautiful skin on a budget. I also love that you are all about the all natural and holistic side of Self care and healing as thats the new journey I have started since myself & my husband have entered our 40s. I have many autoimmune illnesses and my body has been filled for too long of too many toxins over the years as I believed that way my only option. So thank you for sharing all of your wonderful knowledge, tips & tricks, & honest advice. So glad I found you and subscribed. I look forward to all of your videos, even if they don't apply to me.
Didn’t know you had your own skincare line Dr. Youn, I’m excited to try your products! I have recently been looking to switch up my skincare products. I’ve used Aveno for quite a while..thank you for educating me on the different things to look out for.
@@relarras no, it matters. People that don’t care just show they’re not just ignorant, they’re stupid. Likewise, people that get insulted over constructive criticism have a them problem. It’s overall more reflective of you as a person than the person correcting you.
Nt Mn - It doesn’t matter, as long as the other person can understand what you’re saying. The fact that you think something so trivial reveals one’s character is a good example of the Dunning-Kruger effect on your part.
I'm 43 and just begining to think of caring for my skin. I just never bothered and would spend maybe upto £15 on a cream for my face, and that is about it! I hate shopping and I hate the idea of being sold stuff that is actually bad for me, so I avoid it as best I can. Some people will pedal anything for money. This guy really inspires me though. His products are way out of my budget range but I will bet they are great!.
Yeah, I have to use the Cetaphil foaming cleanser. My dermatologist told me to stay away from any exfoliating scrubs because my skin is very sensitive. The closest to exfoliation I do is with coconut oil and a soft face cloth.
Anyone who has started tretinoin (retin a) apply a vitamin e face cream on top!!! I tried retin a twice before and my face would get red and flaky so I had to stop. I have tried again but this time with a vitamin e cream and there is no redness or flaky skin!!!!! I used the vitamin e cream by chance as I bought it for a scar but then I read about how it's soothing and repairing so I tried it on my face and even though I have oily skin surprisingly it doesn't make my skin oilier than usual.
I’m impressed. I never knew you had a channel. I have sensitive skin and Cetaphyl is great . Thank you for the budget saving products and educational videos
I actually really like the way Vichy products feel - especially the hyularonic serum. Also, the Cerave night cream is non-irritating and I found it's good to use on days I am not using prescription retinol or after applying retinol and it has dried - but some people believe that the retinol should stand alone without layers of other product on top.
Acure is pretty great. I have sensitive, acne prone, 41 year old skin. I use their seriously soothing and incredibly clear lines. Love them. It’s the first skincare product I’ve tried that I’ve actually purchased repeatedly.
Been using Cetaphil (in bar form) for almost 20 years. The bar costs $3, lasts for months and is fragrance free. Acure scrub is great, it's not harsh and has a light and natural fragrance for those of us who don't like weird smells and this brand also has an affordable vitamin C serum which Dr Youn reviews in another video. Cerave retinol serum is fragrance free, moisturizes a bit and goes on and absorbs like silk. I love it when a MD tells you to do something that you already been doing!
The medical advice that I've been looking for. Thanks a lot, Doc! I learned a lot as always. God bless and more power to you and your family! Merry Christmas!
I've been using the cerave foaming cleanser the vichy serum in the morning then at night the no 7 advanced retinol serum and my skin looks amazing. This dr knows what hes talking about. Thanks dr
I’m a ginger and the retinol serum from cerave definitely bothered my face. Had some burning sensations, not enough to harm it but enough to know it wasn’t for my skin. Just a heads up for those who have sensitive skin
I stumbled across this video by accident. I wasn't even looking for a video on skincare and it looked interesting and I'm really glad that I watch the video. Thank you for providing this information. It has been really helpful to me.
Fantastic and informative presentation and thank you so very much for providing practical, affordable options! I am very excited to finally apply these techniques (foam cleanser, serum, sunscreen, and then the night retinol) instead of getting overwhelmed by so many choices - much appreciated Dr. Youn!
There is so much more to learn from you Doc! I'm so grateful to wake up this morning and found your channel. I have to throw away my rejuvinating set. It really harmed my skin. ☹️
I like Olay sensitive skin cleanser, $6 a bottle. Then Olay Complete with SPF 30 for day. Pond Dry Skin cream $10 or less a jar for night with the Cerave Retinol serum underneath. Also, Neutrogena Hydro Boost is great underneath the Olay Complete during the day, it makes me look dewy and moisturized.
I 100% agree with Dr. Youn about the Acure Brightening Scrub. In all my 30+ years of using facial skin care products, I'd have to say this scrub is truly the best. They are a great brand to for those who only use cruelty-free and vegan products as they are a vegan line.
