I do this too, except I mix Vaseline, yellow sulfur powder, stock lime powder, few drops tea tree oil. Wash wound thoroughly and make sure clean and germ free, then put the paste on so it forms a wet scab.it then dries and stays there.i do this daily. eats all proud flesh, keeps flies etc off, minimises scaring to the max. Used it on 100's of wounds on horses and dogs. Works every time.
The green lime (my spelling app is horrible, keeps changing my words) stuff and, sulphur, coconut oil seal A wound cornstarch just powdered over the wound with that combo of medicine. Works like charm. I love your page!! There are some very savvy helpful remedies here. Thanks so much.
This combination is amazing. I haven't mixed anyup yet but I have gotten what I need. It's just like Shapley’s. It’s great for no seeum bites!! My gals wear their selves out trying to rub where they've been bit. I searched A long long time to figure out what to use. As soon as it starts warming up in the Spring until the 1st hard freeze those pustule causing turds wreak havoc. I'm sorry to go on and on but I hope this helps others. The mites or no seems don't like the smell of sulphur, and it's soothing to the horses akin. Rub it in good on the Docks oftheir Tails, along the Mane line. About daily. Please please apply late at night and not late morning or after. It seems to make their skin get hotter in the Sun or Heat. Lol and for flies the permethrin 2 that says for equine and premise spray will help with flies.I use that daily. I their shady area anywhere they hang out. Seems to help.

Where are you guys getting the sulfur powder??? I cannot find it anywhere! Local places either Don’t even know what I’m talking about or have crystals. Internet is even hard to find! 😢
I put it on as a paste and leave it exposed but that depends on what kind of wound it is. Some wounds in some places do need bandaging and a different ointment so I would definitely ask my vet.
Jessica Graf my horse was cut to the bone! i did bandage for a while. after she got a good a good layer of flesh back she would pull at the bandages. thats when I would just use this like an ointment. washed the wound with warm salty warter let it dry a bit than smeared it on. an added bonus of the ointment was flys ect hate it.
