Thank you Rocky Mountain for helping take a stand and educating riders on how to be involved.

I'm 70 now, and no longer ride heavy duty off road (Though I still trail ride). I spent a lot of time riding in the "Swell" back in the 70's and early 80's. They have been trying to shut down the Swell ever since then. It was under consideration for a National Park in the late 80's. We managed to stop that one, but the environmentalists have never given up and never will. You have to keep fighting to keep your right to ride. Every rider should join groups like the Blue Ribbon Coalition, as riders are considered politically insignificant otherwise.

Why do we have to choose between their trash options?! How about we do NONE OF THEM and leave the riding areas open????

Keep riding them. In masses.

For proper land conservation that addresses a growing sport, opening more trails would be the more prudent thing to do. Displacing more riders over a larger area will lessen any "perceived" negative environmental impact and allow the community to grow in a safe, supportive and sustainable fashion. Proper land management would recognize existing & growing user groups rights & responsibilities and address them by a minimum of "Close one trail down, open a new one up on equal or greater value" Working together to create a better more sustainable trail network system should not be "risk avoidance only"

And why exactly do my comments that name the organization behind these restrictions keep getting deleted? Do you not want people to learn about them, what they're planning beyond this, and how they're taking our recreational land away?

If the officials deciding this are elected officials they are our employees and can be fired, ie this is a legal stand. Check it out. I have dealt with this kind of stuff all my life and it works. Get someone you want making decisions elected in their place. When they realize what you are doing they start paying attention to you. They don't want to lose their jobs. I am an 84 year old female and they listened to me every time. I educated myself and knew where I stood in the situation they didn't. They behaved better when they learned.

Elected officials have nothing to do with these travel management plans. More than likely it is BLM bureaucrats or Forest Service bureaucrats or both, depending on the area covered that promulgate these plans. The Department of the Interior, where the BLM resides was coopted by radical environmental groups several decades ago. They bide their time when Republicans are in office waiting for a Democrat administration so they can continue to shrink public access to Federal lands. Their goal is to turn western Federal lands into one big wilderness area with travel corridors between cities and no access to the wilderness area. It is part of their environmental connected habitat goal. Local input is fruitless because they think humans, especially motorized vehicle users, are deplorable.

Who’s responsible for trying to close the trails ? And what’s their reasoning for the closure?

@BrianLampright913
@BrianLampright913 3 месяца назад
SUWA is nothing but a front for Washington $$$ to take public lands away from the people. SUWA claims to do this for green reasons but it’s very clear our federal gov is simply using/paying them to close our lands at any cost. No good reasons to close other than because the powerful don’t want citizens to use our public lands.

This is false information - The BLM does not have a preferred alternative. The BLM does encourage comments on the plan but as of yet, there is no preferred option.

*Y'all should of thought harder about this, before putting on Loud exhaust and driving over everything off trail. ATV's ruin our environment!*

We personally don't do that, nor do we advocate anything like that; some people don't respect trail etiquette and ruin it for the rest of us. Make sure to voice your opinion over on the PLPCO site

Utah republicans can vote for Phil Lyman for Governor on June 25th. He served time for protesting against BLM encroachment. We need a fighter as Governor, not a yes-man like we currently have…

If Utah wants to survive and be the wonderful place it's been, they need to evict every Democrat in the State. Salt Lake City is probably a goner... All those tech companies from Communist California are making it the new "Silicone Valley". Mark Phuckerberg, who gave $200 million to Democrats, is building a new data center in South Carolina. Why? He doesn't like the policies of the crooks he gave money to? SC is as red as it gets. Yet, it's now the largest destination for sick in the head Liberals trying to escape the hell they created in their own States. The next Civil War won't be N and S. It will be armed Patriots VS Rainbow Pansies.

It's not just this one area. The entire southern half of Utah has already been closed or under treat of being closed. It's becoming very scary what our government is doing. I just submitted mine and there are only 15 total submissions. No wonder everything is closing because no one participates.

I ride where I please, catch me if you can 🤣 all things aside it’s ridiculous that they’re squeezing us out in Utah, even Idaho, and other states so we shall fight and keep riding.

It’s unfortunate that this is becoming the best option even for citizens who want to be law abiding but our federal government is over-reaching and forcing the public to take alternative actions

What's the reason for closing down riding areas? This is just like people complaining of street racing while constantly closing down motorsport facilities. Our riding areas are constantly under attack and have been for decades.

Motorized users better save up some $$ and prepare to support litigation to stop this when or if it comes to that. Gather all your riding friends far and near and get them to support keeping areas open. Also contact one or two legal foundations for assistance if it looks like its going that direction.. AND DEFINITELY SUPPORT THE BLUE RIBBON COALITION..!! LONG-TERM.

Get busy, join the blue ribbon coalition, join your local trail group, do some trail work. Get active in the fight to keep trails open, don’t expect someone else to do it for you. Keep these trails open for future generations.

They don't "need" to touch ANY of it. Choosing one of the choices rather than saying NONE, leave them and us alone. Just gives them another Mile and alot more momentum and control.

Have the lands been abused by ignoring the trails? And now you're crying that it's their fault?
@BrianLampright913
@BrianLampright913 3 месяца назад
I was just down there last year and the trails are very well marked and established. I didn’t notice any abuse at all scale that justifies closing. The fact is the more lands that are closed the more that people are put into smaller areas causing more destruction and more closures. It’s a viscous cycle that ends in all public lands being closed and raising kids indoors addicted to internet and Xbox. The alternative many will take is to ride illegally anywhere they please when you close trail systems.
