I'm a freshman in highschool and I am currently doing a local documentary on how the declining of bee's is affecting specifically us as a community but with that we are learning about bee's in general. We are doing this project partially because my brother has a new hive in our backyard.

That's cool! Last night I dreamed a bee was trying to kill me, but I didn't want to attack it back since bees are good

1. reduce the amount of honey taken. 2. Glucose syrup would mix with xylitol. 3. Measuring ph and see effects decreasing mortality. 4. No fertilizers and no pesticides to plant and clean air. than you see bee dont die:D

It is: imported pests monocultures (shorter time flowers show up=bees starve for the rest of time) don't trim every last patch of grass! (especially at highways there's absolutely no need for it!)
@MC-up9nx
@MC-up9nx 7 лет назад
edi You can do that too but the most important thing is to stop killing them with pesticides.

top bar bee hives. Don't even gotta consume or use the honey, etc. bee products, we can live in symbiosis with them pollinating the food that we live on and us caring for the plants that make their food

SAVE THE BEES

I would love to start a hive in my backyard. Is there any chance that after the neighbors find out I keep bees, can I be sued if they randomly get stung?!
@TheSunriseAnimation
@TheSunriseAnimation 7 лет назад
if you leave around 5 meters space to your neighbors in the direction of their entrance and 3 meters in the others they wouldn't even see more bees in their garden because the bees fly up and then in every direction, in most countries they couldn't do much about it then, so go to your next beekeeper association they have almost certainly a starter group/course and often you get your first swarm for free by them, and some training is necessary because its in some ways complicated but amazing.
@tundevirag755
@tundevirag755 7 лет назад
I recently read in a book about sustainability that if you have neighbours and want to keep bees there are a couple of things you can do. 1, install a little pond in the garden so your bees drink there and don't invade other local ponds where children might be playing. 2, construct a wall around the hive (one you can easily remove) that is higher than the hive and forces bees to fly higher before taking off in any direction.

that are two tricks that are actually working we have tested them both, and put out a white sheet in early spring when the bees come out first because they bring out their winter-trash and don't put it on other white walls (why ever they like to put it on white walls... )

I expected a bit more like: 1) don't use bee-killing pesticides 2) less monocultures (=less pesticides; different blossoming times=longer harvest for bees) 3) don't mow down every last F-ing patch of grass; e.g. next to highways theirs no need whatsoever for trimmed grass; let some flowers there FFS!

i feel like im missing something i know organic honey uses real honey not added sugar or corn syrup and the bees aren't genetically modified or killed or mistreated from where i get my honey from. im really serious about the safety and well being of animals always have been. i understand the pesticides are wrong and hurt them and im totally against it. i feel though that from other comments im missing more information. if anyone has any links er anything that would be great thank you.
@zedex1226
@zedex1226 7 лет назад
here is something you're missing. does someone follow all the bees as they go out to forage and confirm that 100% of the plants in their 10 mile radius are 100% organic? the logical conclusion is that labelling of "organic" honey is lying to you. Carry on.
@WCephei77HD
@WCephei77HD 7 лет назад
Make the whole world organic, in the long term, all produce wasted due to insects munching is not going to overweight the losses of not having bees in the planet.

Hiya, I like the idea of veganism , but it has a few mistakes on basis. So I like to see all the veganism point of view from the sentiocentrism philosophy which relays on science. So I dont have an opinion about bees and honey business yet. You said something about livestock , but is it your main purpose to save just a few bees from the backyard throw community support?¿¿?? I would like to know more about the topic..

@TheSunriseAnimation

the problem is there are actually to many diseases and pests that kill the bees if they aren't supported by beekeepers. sadly, most swarms don't get older than a year if they live in the wild.
@Lily.valkyrie

Bee keeping is ok. But the honey industry is terrible. Honey is bee vomit and lots of them are crushed in the honey industry.
@TheSunriseAnimation

in some ways its true, there are some companies that are very rude to this little fellows but if you go to your next beekeeper and buy your honey from there its good! and you support them by doing so.

+katie prentice Yes, Commercial Beekeepers are not Gentle at all to the Bees. I know I've done Hobbies Beekeeping in my backyard when I lived out of Town. Had neighbors close by but no Problems. The only thing I wore was a viel to Protect my face, but not Always. I worked the hives with no shirt and shorts. I knew how to handle them. But of course, I had to work slowly and pay close attention to how moved. Got to be like meditation. When I sold my hives, I could not believe the "Space Suit" the beekeepers used and very rough and abrupt he was with the bees. He got the very angry and I didn't like that much. Before they got very angry, he told me your right they don't seem to bother you. It's to bad most people are very ignorant about bees, otherwise there would be more hobbiest beekeepers, which would help bee populations Greatly.
