If someone is a 100% P&T disabled veteran he/she should get a 100% property tax exemption. Not sure about 100% SS disabled but would guess it's the same. -- BR
FYI, The Morse family made a deal with Sumter county to raise the tax rate in the new section. You should look into this so your information on taxes are correct. Secondly, there are no “reasonable” insurance rates in Fla at this time.
I'll look into the new tax rates that will be released for the new sections. Thank you. I will disagree with you for reasonable insurance rates. It is all relative. I will speak from personal experience that my home owners insurance in Florida is about the same as my previous home in Tennessee and is a very reasonable rate. It did require shopping though. :)

The bond does make up a portion of your taxes. In Florida there are Ad Valorem and Non - Ad Valorem taxes. Typically, when someone asks what the taxes are, it includes both the Ad Valorem and Non Ad Valorem. Ad Valorem taxes are made up of city, county, and school board Non Ad Valorem are made up of Bond, maintenance, and fire. Hope this helps 😊

I did it. It isn't (technically) 65, it's 55. That said, the typical resident is well over 70. Everyone I speak to gets the exact same advice: "It is not a place you go to live. It is a place you go to die." 55 and up communities reek of death. It feels like a penal colony for the elderly. I will be escaping as soon as possible. I will die, but I will never get old.
