I appreciated the care and time spent to save this piece. I'm saving a leather topped desk made with a combination of MDF with veneer and solid wood so finding this video was like finding a buried treasure. I must say, too, that your voice was pleasant and easy to listen to. I liked that you showed more than a few seconds of each process without the unnecessary chatter I find on other channels. You're the first person I have found that I was happy to subscribe. Thank you!
I really enjoyed your informative narrative and quick pace. Color was something I'd never think of using but it turned out so well and neutral that I plan to use it on my next project. Good sequencing of before & after photos.
Thanks so much, Sarah 💜 I really don't like refinishing MDF pieces either, but if they are on their way to the trash, I try my best to save them when I can.
Thank you for making this video. I'm trying to repair an MDF piece and looking for tips all over RU-vid. This was very helpful! And I think it turned out so beautiful!
The reuse of a dresser in that kind of shape is pretty cool(very green) and the green color looks absolutely fabulous with the drawer pulls you ordered...as always...great job
Great refresh! In my experience finishing outside greatly reduces the time you have to work with the paint whether its extra air flow, warmth or sun it dries faster leading to more brush strokes showing.
You did a Fabulous job ! The colour looks Gorgeous 👍 Didn’t think ide like that colour , but once it was Finished I Loved it 👍❤️the liners and the Handles
You really did a great job! That looks beautiful. Thank you so much for the video. I have an MDF to do and I was like shaking. I didn’t even think I wanted to do it but now I’m ready to go. Thank you again.
Great job. Thanks for sharing your technique for MDF. I’ll be referring back to this video when I do my next MDF piece. Suggestion: when using all in one paints...... paint indoors.
First time seeing you and this video. Just subbed for a good reason. You're cute and good at what you showed here. So, hope to see you going with good audience for so many years ;-)
Seriously, what a chameleon color, definitely love how different it is in different light. This turned out gorgeous, Holly! So many issues but you brought it back to life. Haaaaaaate when that happens with hardware screws!
This was a helpful video overall. However It would have made it better if you had included video of how you repaired the bottom edge of the side and the missing corner of the drawer. Turned great! I'm hopeful I 'll be able to make my manufactured home kitchen and bath cabinets look better.
That turned out really well. I actually have that same dresser. I never thought to change the hardware on it. I might do that. It would update it a lot by just doing that.
It looks like the bubbled up area on the bottom sides sanded out smoothly. At first I would have considered adding a piece of wood trim to cover it. Nice work!
This is great! I’ve just picked up a set of drawers and the plastic covering is coming off the top of the mdf on the top and other small areas. Can I do the same as this and take off the film in the damaged areas and fill and then sand over the top? I’m wanting to paint it also. 😊
yes i would do the same thing i did. it's very important to seal with shellac so don't forget that part! i can't remember what wood filler i used in this video but you should proabably use bondo all purpose filler for extra durability.
Thanks! The market seems to be different for everyone, but it hasn't been the best in my area lately. I don't share the business side here on RU-vid, but I always share when my pieces sell over on Instagram. Thanks for watching!
Hallo liebe Freunde!
I watched because there was a damaged corner of the bottom drawer. Where is the footage of you fixing the corner of the MDF ? I watched this twice and there is nothing. Im working on a piece with a chunk out of the corner . So disappointing when you show the damage and then don’t show how you fixed it.
I hit record on my camera and the battery died a few seconds later without my knowledge. I used the same wood filler as I used on the top, built it up in small layers, and sanded it smooth. I forgot to mention this in the video. I apologize.
@@debkeyworth8429 yes I did use shellac over everything. I would recommend the filler I used as it’s very strong and adheres to almost every surface. You could also use Bondo wood filler, which is even stronger. It’s just harder to sand. If you are still struggling, I would recommend drilling a pilot hole and putting a small screw in the damaged area and leave the screw head exposed. Then the wood filler will attach to the screw and have a stronger bond.
