The people who always say "you're paying for the brand", need to watch this video. it's not usually expensive due to the brands name, it's expensive because the garments are made of extremely high quality fabric, embellishments and hundreds of talented individuals who work day and night to produce exquisite, valuable and wearable art. Quality, not quantity is best. I'd much prefer to have one expensive, beautifully made piece, instead of 10 junky sweatshop items that say "made in China" thrown into a plastic bag, only to be forgotten in less than a year.

Each piece needs to be in a museum. Haute Couture transcends mere 'clothing' and becomes art. One must of course appreciate the beautiful designs of Karl Lagerfeld, but the couturieres at the atelier are the ones who bring the visions to life through (literally) weeks of work and scrutiny. They are the true soul of the industry, it's amazing how they can bring this kind of fantasy into reality. I will probably never be able to afford couture, but I would very much like to see some of these pieces for myself, if only to...stare at them. 😅 There is great power in beauty.
