Wow, what a beast and nothing wrong with your work, nothing wasted. At least, there is always a stove that needs food. Thx for the video.

Good morning. I'm a retired carpenter. I see some comments about wood being wasted. I'm not so sure of that. It's just wasted in a different way, but it looks like about the same amount of waste to me. The soft wood on the exterior of the log doesnt have the value of wood further in, anyway. I prefer your techniques over the band saw as well.

I used to work at a sawmill similar to your setup you have. I loved the job. I'm happy to see you give your employees time and you are patient for them to do there job safely.

I used to worked for 19 years in a furniture factory where we used cherry for 80% of our end product. We used 4/4 FAS and had to cut around the small defects at some point during the sawing phase. The log you just cut was driving me crazy with all the wain and face checking. Not rushing your guys is admirable . Safety is so important with an open blade of that size in the room. Kickbacks must be frightening when it happens there. The sawyer and crew seem to be a very good team.

My employer had a twin blade set-up. And the edger set-up was less than five feet from the saw blades. I would get covered in debris all the time when we would cut big timber. I loved the job but it became quantity or quality and safety kinda went out the window. And I felt like the job wasn't worth me getting hurt so I left and found other employment. Love watching sawmills like yours cause I have been around sawmills my whole life.

I've watched several of your videos and can't help but notice you apologize fairly often about how you cut the logs. Apparently some people don't like your method for whatever reason, be it waste or some other reason. If people watch your channel they know what you have to work with in a sawing system. They should know from the first glance of your setup the limitations you have to work with. I wouldn't apologize for working with what you have. If people don't like it then they can watch another channel. Anyway, keep doing what you're doing as the rest of us love to see what you're up to and enjoy the cathartic nature of watching you saw logs...Happy holidays and I'll keep watching.
