@@josuerizo1 ...it was satire. Sarcasm. This guy milling wood, and seemingly proud of it... while there's giant cracks and splits. Who would want wood like that?
Yep, can see all the old spur marks in it. Watch out for the old tar they use put on bottoms to stop from rotting out before PT became a thing.. nasty stuff ! So is PT though.
Life had to be challenging before these machines. Imagine going into the woods one day with an ax to build a log house for your new bride and family. I'd be like... ahh forget it, man. I'll just sleep under this old rotting log. Even this guy is knocking himself out here.
We have to remember though that the Pilgrims who came here over 500 years ago built plank houses. The planks were made by raising logs onto elevated frames. One person above and one person below used a two man saw to cut each plank.
@@DewyDeeps it's a grade for timber used to designate defect by certified timber er cruisers. Grade 9 (cull log) is trash due to amount of defect in the log. Unless, there is a pulp market. but that log was not cut for pulp wood.
I always assume the pilgrims were using power tools in the 1600s, good to know thanks I have another question, how much wood would you Chuck if you could?
I ran a old heart wood mill. Dual sided ban with a hydraulic dogs and log turners for a while. It’s pretty fun seeing the different types of mills and methods.
My 17 year old daughters just got their 1st woodmizer for their custom lumber company in September. They started out resawing 2 years ago at 15 and now make enough money they bought a 2020 F250 last year on their own. I love they started this company as they don't have to work ever but they enjoy hard work. I won a high 8 figure lotto about 5 years ago so money isn't the reason but they LOVE having money that is their own lol
@@leehaelters6182 I try in the father department as my kiddos have no mothers (I can really pick um) but in the lucky department I finally got my helicopter license and got a 4 seater Bell! But I still spend lots of time in my large equipment and my JLG 1075 Telehandler. It's funny if I was clocking in I might complain about "going to work" but it's my 6,000 acre yard and I'm building my 8 acre reservoir from my natural spring so it's "fun" instead lol. Perspective is funny
@@canivor81 Yes. I've got an old has been Woodmizer. It just keeps cranking out lumber with minimal maintenance. The higher lumber prices go up, the more I can justify time spent on that old (reliable) pig..
My dad designed and built his own sawmill and made a living off of it during my childhood. Now it's been sitting outside for like 8 years. I want to get it back running again.
If you flip it over after the first cut, you can use a right angle to make it square, then roll it over to cut the last side. Tailsawed for my grandpa for 7 summers. Not the only way, but that is how he had me do it for years.
Sometimes I wish this was my lifestyle. Some good ol' wood workin' man work. Living in Montana or some shit. Small town living. Football Sundays. Im the hero in the neighborhood. Help people with their groceries to their car and shit. Everyone knows each other's name. Damn... I might move...
You could power it with an electric motor too. However you need the grid to power such a saw and if you use it somewhere on a field you may have no electricity at all. These small gas engines are cheap and they work everywhere
Время настало , уже столбы от старых световых линий перерабатывают в деловую древисину, потом отбеливающим составом пройдут и продадут не очень разбирающимся покупашкам.
I saw a worthless tree became an expensive pole with some manufacturing process and I realized how work put into raw materials create products and that's exactly where money is created.
Todo bien salvo que esté operario debería trabajar con guantes, gafas, casco y botas de protección. Los EPI son obligatorios en el trabajo, protegen la integridad física del operario.
Don't underestimate woodworkers! Even 1000 years ago they got amazing stuff! Saw 2 old men doing the same with just a handsaw... took a while but they got it dang straight
