Biff seems to sing the verses with a very cold and contemptful tonality that sounds distant yet defiant. It really brings about an unheard of level of poignancy and atmosphere amidst the thunderous riffs and drums.
I recently saw Saxon again live here in Holland. It's amazing, the voice Biff still has at his age. Kinda reminds me of Ronnie James Dio, he as well had an amazing voice even far in his 60s!
Yeah, I think so, because this video is too rare, I've looking for it there's been a year and I finally found on "DC++" Program. But the video was showed in a TV program here in Brazil...
Download the albuns: "Strong Arm of the Law (1980); Denim and Leather (1981); Strong Arm of the Law (1983); Crusader (1984) and Dogs of War (1995)"...those are the best.
@@mitchelltheawesome1 Hey...I remember buying that album in 2002 or so. It is a masterpiece with a very aggressive sound influenced by power metal in places. That wasn't my first Saxon album though, I started off with the A Collection of Metal compilation and bought Killing Ground in 2001 when it came out. Over the next few years I bought all their albums and even became friends with original Saxon guitarist Graham Oliver.
@@vinaymulukutla358 Unleash the Beast is my alll-time favorite Saxon record. That's also pretty badass that you're friends with Graham, sure he's got some stories to tell.
Dogs of war-Saxon lyrics Come to the reaper sing the song, bringing death to everyone Once the earth was calm and safe, but now the land's a battle place Firing shells into the air, where they land, no-one cares Now the blood flows like a stream, widowmaker reigns supreme Dogs of war, no surrender Dogs of war, I kill the defender Dogs of war, Scream into battle Dogs of war, it's the day of the jackal Nothing seems to ease the pain, the reaper's shadow still remains Sniper lets the bullet fly, in the distance someone die The town becomes an empty shell, come and spend a day in hell Forgotten what we're fighting for, no-one wins this bloody war Dogs of war, no surrender Dogs of war, I kill the defender Dogs of war, Scream into battle Dogs of war, it's the day of the jackal Lay the wreath across the flag, fill another body bag Guard of honour standing proud, put your son into the ground Did they die for you and me, a sacrifice for liberty A generation dead and gone, the reaper sings his deadly song Dogs of war, no surrender Dogs of war, I kill the defender Dogs of war, Scream into battle Dogs of war, it's the day of the jackal
Yeah, I agree perfectly. But that doesn't the band supports war or the military, they just made a song about war and soldiers. And Saxon is a hell of a Heavy Metal band, at least for me, and one of my favorite british metal bands...
Is one of the best bands ever, this is a good album but... Unleash the Beast is that kind of album you can't forget. There's a song a don't find on youtube and is my favourite CIRCLE OF LIGHT!!!!, the best.
I think this video was the first from the album (and I'm not sure whether there were more). It was first shown on Headbangers Ball when the album was released. They also had some sort of competition the prize of which was the hand-painted guitar that appears in the video (best seen between 3:46 - 3:50).
@niglegook really where was the powerful voice in this song, look the man sang better earlier in his life, not by much, but yes he had better days, but no matter what he dont have the voice this song needs, the band played it well, its just sad the singer was not up the task, plus you are way off on youre better than most british singers comment. rob halford or ozzy, bruce dickensonof iron maiden, robert plant, i can name many more who have came from england that sing better. still active,
