I think going forward as we get more of these built in receivers, this will become the way to bind and I think the bind button will be eliminated from these board all together.
The command in 3.5.x is "frsky_bind"
in 4.0.x it is "bind_rx_spi"
in 4.1.x it is "bind_rx"
If you have an ACCESS transmitter with an ISRM internal module you will also need to issue this command in the CLI
set frsky_x_rx_num
It should return with the value of your receiver number if successful.
Also after you have hit bind on the transmitter, make sure you type "save" in the CLI to save the binding parameters to your FC. Otherwise the bind may not save.

This is a very cool feature!! Being of semi-advanced in years, this works great for my old eyes! FWIW... if you type "help bind" on the CLI line while connected to your RX, BetaFlight will give you the proper command. For my TinyHawk 3 it is "bind_rx".

I had to learn how to do this 2 years ago when I was trying to bind a SPI Spektrum receiver on an Inductrix, at the time the option wasn't available for Frsky, nice that its working now. BUT, I hope they sort out the D16 issues for Frsky SPI receivers. I have not had one FC with an Frsky SPI receiver on it not lock up on me and fall out of the sky. The Betaflight devs have been working on this problem for at least 6 to 8 months. I'm sticking to receiver-less whoop boards from now on until this issue is completely resolved. I used that on the beebrain lite, couldn't see that tiny button so searched the web on how to bind the BB Lite. . Was a bit confused why it didn't work on my other quad. Very helpful info, very useful tool. Thanks Albert 👍🤓

Great video. This is very helpful. Cos sometimes is hard to bind controller with receiver. I even build a smoke stopper, with a switch where could turn power on from battery. It's easier, but with CLI command would be even more easier. (Y)

even better, in CLI if you type SET FRSKY and copy all the lines there and save it...all you have to do is paste in those lines and hit save. Not having any luck with this using the crazybee f4 with betaflight 4.0. Using the command bind_rx_spi . I read the detailed docks you linked. As far as I understand this should be working. I did manually.bind with no issues. Just thought I'd mention here.

You sent me this video to try and bind my Mobula 7. I'm not far from taking a hammer to this drone because this also does not work, I ordered this drone from Banggood and have never had an issue with there drones. But now this is starting to get me discouraged... The error message is: # frsky_bind Unknown command, try 'help' # bind_rx_spi Unknown command, try 'help' I'm trying really hard to enjoy this hobby but this is not helping me stay interested...

Hmmm, I'm wondering if you may have gotten the wrong version... perhaps its the flysky version you have there and not the FrSky version? On the board it will have the name silkscreened on there. What does it say?

I got the same thing although the reciever says FrSky XM+ version / EU-LBT and I also got a Taranis QX7 EU-version. Any ideas? Impossible to bind so far. Maybe flash both reciever and Taranis?

Trying this with my new IFlight Protek25 analog, XM+ receiver. Not working, even with the additional info in your description. Any ideas?

The XM+ receiver is NOT an SPI receiver so this video is not relevant information for that receiver. You have to bind it the old fashioned way. Hold down the bind button while plugging the battery. When the receiver is showing a solid green and red light, the receiver is in bind mode and you're ready to bind at the transmitter menu.

Wut, no more bind button? Shut your mouth, that's heresy son! Have you no shame? You're making this too easy. .. Do you know why they call it the "Bind" button? Because it put you in a proverbial BIND trying to get at it to press it while plugging in the battery. We call that a right of passage, one that made you wish you had three or four extra hands...but Noooo, now you take that away from us... What's next with you? Are you going to tell about not having to press the Boot button too??? *Get tip and thank you...lol* I was like "OMG if only I knew this last week when my CrazyBee F3 bind button decided to run away from home and find a new place to play hide-and-seek in the house." I might still have a CrazyBee F3, but I don't as it has found it's way to the local landfill...

That board doesn't use SPI so this video doesn't apply and won't work. You just have to follow the instructions on binding regular ELRS receivers at this link. www.expresslrs.org/quick-start/binding/

@@AlbertKimTV thank you. So I did the ExpressLRS configurator to update the firmware to match my remote controller. But I did it with a bind phrase and I used the WiFi on the Flight Controller. Bad move on my part. For almost 2 days I figure out what was wrong. So I read that hole website you linked in your comment. And I finally figured it out. I had to updated without a binding phrase and use my own Wi-Fi and it finally worked. Thank you.

Once you hit bind on the transmitter it will do out of bind mode. You can also just power off the FC by unplugging the USB cable.

I don't know if anybody posted this yet, but just an FYI, I just got a replacement AIO board for my Sailfly, they sent me the Crazybee f4 v3.0 (flysky rx). It would not bind in cli using BF 4.1. I saw your comment for the new "bind_rx" to be used with 4.1, which i tried and and it said "unsupported device" Then I checked the F4 v3.0 pdf manual on bind procedure, and it said to use "bind_rx_spi". Although 4.1 wasn't out when that board was released and they probably haven't updated manual. I tried it anyway, and got a red lettered warning that the command was not recognized. Think it's something I'm doing, or is it 4.1 just hasn't added that FC yet?

I just flashed my Crazybee F4 v3.0 to betaflight 4.1.4 and the bind_rx works to put fc into bind mode. Now if i can just get the board to bind to my X-lite pro is another story.

Jason Alexander, I finally got mine bound, the old fashion way, then had trouble arming, figured that out, then after finishing and props on, soon as I armed, it would go full throttle, very wobbly, and try and do a fly away. Found out the default pids and filters don't mix well with certain quads and their low throttle/air mode settings. Some people fixed it as easy as turning off telemetry(didn't work for me) but I found a cli command string on github changing some filter and pid settings that fixed it perfectly. I believe it's issue #7878, or if you're having same problem, let me know and I can just send the command to you on here.

My issues are stemming from FrSky firmware update to my internal module they basically are trying to make it so you can’t use built in rx on fc or so it seems from reading others posts. I have three bricked quads do to my firmware update.

@@jasonalexander3063 Ohhh, now that you say that, I have been seeing a lot of videos and posts about Frsky and toothpick/whoop quads and binding problems, didn't realize it had to do with AIO boards, that sucks. Guess I was lucky then, last year got a turnigy evolution radio, (on sale, right after ordering Leader-3s with Flysky by mistake). Switched Leader over to my Qx7, but really liked the Evo, except it has limited switches. So now, toothpicks/whoops, anything like sub 110mm, I use the Evo, everything else I use Frsky/Qx7. I'll keep an eye out for any solutions to the Frsky AIO problem and let you know if I find something.

Only works for SPI receivers. If you have the board with an SPI receiver it will work the same. That model comes with many other receiver types. Won't work on the others.

Withe Spectrum we always need to type the CLI commands and wish the RX has a button. Now the Frsky users with a button wish to use the CLI comments 🤣 All tho it wood be nice if the CLI bind command was available door all RX systems and communication types

Tried this just 5 Minutes ago and the Command "bind_rx_spi" and "bind_frsky" don't seem to work anymore on BF 4.1, or rather its as simple as typing "bind_rx", that does the trick :)

Hi Albert, interesting Video, I am a newbie, so I always interested in watching and learning. I followed the video above to bind my Mobula7 to my FlySky FS-i6s radio, it seems to bind as the lights go from blinking to solid. Hwever, the radio starts beeping and a message comes up saying Turn Off RX!......Have you come across this before? Could it be a setting in Betaflight, or could it be an issue with the quad or radio? Any help would be great, Cheers, MHG

How can i bind my xm+ receiver through betaflight, as bind button isn't working. Do anyone have any solutions?

This solution only works with SPI receivers and the XM+ is not an SPI receiver.

That one doesn't use Betaflight. When that FC powers on in goes into bind mode automatically.

Different versions of Betaflight use different command for binding. Try frsky_bind or just bind

@@AlbertKimTV i ordered the flysky on accident and didnt look at the case close enough.my problem is that i never got a single click on my trash can to bind it. Bridging it isnt working either.....wtf?I wish I had a schematic for the f4 board so I could find out what trace needs to be grounded

hi, I have created a profile on taranis for my tiny and i bind in cli mode. Then I completely deleted this profile and recreated a new one, I go to do the bind again but as soon as I turned on the rf module of my taranis and put it in D16, it AUTOMATICALLY made the BIND. it's normal?

Go to the receiver tab, move the sticks around and you'll see the input values change.

How long does this take?, Still binding after ten minutes. Do I push the bind button on the trans also?

Yes, you need to initiate the bind on the transmitter too.

@@AlbertKimTV thanks for replying so quickly. Must have got a bad quad. Betaflight said binding and I had the trans set to D16 FCC mode and it wouldn't take. (65s) quad....I will contact Betafpv. Thank you, sir.

Not sure... never heard of this one before... are you sure it's the bind button and not the bootloader button? Sounds like you're hitting the bootloader button and the board is going into DFU mode.

@@AlbertKimTV nope, even if i send the comand using the cli as you showed it frezees, whats really weird is that when i use an external receiver (xm+) it doesn’t let it bind, but when i connect the receiver to another board it does bind and work perfectly.

none of these work with the Emax Hawk Pro :(. will it even bind to a TaranisQX7?

That's because the Hawk Pro doesn't have an SPI receiver... uses a D8 receiver. If you need help with binding, contact EMAX support for instructions for your receiver. The instructions in this video do not apply to your model.
