Disney World's famous Hall of Presidents is the perfect presidental primer--if you can live with the fact that these are all creepy robots. (Note the use of Prez Bush's actual voice).
Narrator: Ladies and gentlemen, the presidents of the United States. Vince McMahon: IT'S TIME TO RUMBLE!! IT'S TIME FOR THE ROYAL RUMBLEEEEEE!!!! (updated the audioanamatronic figures with AI processors and combat programming and let them go at it) Herbert Hoover would feud with Calvin Coolidge for letting the stock market run unchecked and leaving just as it was getting bad and effectively screwing his presidency. Grant throws a whisky bottle at some point and nails a spectator.
My favorite Presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Andrew Jackson, James K. Polk, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Chester A. Arthur, William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush.
Another extraordinary president who deserves applause is Franklin D. Roosevelt, who valiantly led our nation through two of the worst crises of the 20th century - the Great Depression and World War II. The year 1932 was the last time in American history that a new president was taking office during a major crisis. Therefore, President-elect Obama could learn something from FDR.
Excellent camera work. This is the only video of the Hall of Presidents I've seen that shows each one up close as their names are called. Also, thank you for skipping the boring part.
As impressive as this attraction is, it's kind of creepy too. To think that when the park closes down at night, they're all still there standing all night behind that curtain. Can you imagine going there at two o'clock in the morning, and it's completely quiet, and then all of a sudden, the mechanism suddenly comes on and they all start moving under a dim light! 😲
5:01 The guy on ack row to the left has a lighin stomache :D We the people, sounds kinda like a 80's band man these robots are so unbelivbely reaistic, its scary, simply amazing. stunning
because at this point America was still in good shape. You got to remember. A lot of people loved him for the 72 month job growth streak and the progress of the Stock Market. IT DOUBLED!
Some of the gestures are very robotic for 21st century. Seems to me the way hollywood does their animatronics, these could be a little more realistic looking than they are. Still one of the best sites at the park. Thanks for the upload.
@ifhgsfj Eisenhower helped us through war, Lincoln helped make freedom in USA, Thomas Jefferson was a component in why we Americans became free from the British, and George Bush was the first president and also the first president to have an extended president life because of how experienced and great he was..
I aleays thought that there was one at Disneyland1 I saw the one at Disneyworld when it was there. What perplexes me is that I know that Great moments w/ Mr Lincoln was at the 65 worlds fair in NYC, along w/ Small World and the Dinosour exhibit ( all Disney designed and built ), and as Disneyworld didn't open until the early 70's- I swore that Disnyleand had an entire exhibit w/ the audio-animitronic- presidents (????)
I live an hour from Disneyland. We've never had a "Hall of Presidents," although we've had several incarnations of "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" throughout the years. This was was replaced during the park's 50th anniversary with a retrospective presentation starring Steve Martin. (I know...a poor substitute!) And I agree with your comment about the Hall celebrating what is right about our country, even if some of these men were very flawed.
If these presidents had a battle royale for the presidential chair, I would put my money on either Lincoln or Jackson. Lincoln was actually a wrestler in his youth and could probably hold his own for awhile. Andrew Jackson was just a crazy bar room brawler who would fight anybody and not back down.
I think he's in the works right now. He was just elected a less than two weeks ago so my guess he'll probably be ready by Spring and or Summer when everyone decides to plan a vacation. I can't wait! He is truly going to stick out like a sore thumb! LOL! :)
..ohhhh!!! So iw as mis-informed then- thought that htere was Hall of presidents at BOTH parks... Saw the Disneyland history exhibit when I was there in October- pretty nifty- but it would be great if they brought back Mr. Lincoln and freinds!
... there was a Hall of Presidents at Disneyland / Anaheim- which is now closed. I think the one at Disney/ Florida is closed as well, but it sounds as if one or both are going to be re-opened ( ? ) can anyone clarify this ?
I think that the Bush figure is supposed to represent a younger George Bush. It's amazing how the job can age a person quickly. If you look at pictures of Franklin Roosevelt from the early 30's and then about 10 years later, he looks like he aged at least 20 years. The George Bush figure also looks more like him when you see it in person.
