@@cmoneystudios4813 Standard has nothing to do with chords, it's literally what the guitar is tuned to, it's the key of the song, not the chords played. The key is higher is what he's stating in the original comment, The G# is the note the singer usually doesn't have to hit because the guitar isn't in standard tuning, but in this cover it is in standard meaning, he has to hit a higher note than the original song, meaning G#

Caylo321 Tread carefully on squier lines. My Bridge pickup is too trebly but it mixes suuper nicely with the neck pickup. I suggest upgrading a squier. cx
I'd like to hear this with a good audio, because I love Weezer and it sounds really good even though everything is like muted when the drums play loudly.

So you're telling me that rivers couldn't memorize the lyrics to the song he was supposed to perform because "pumped up kicks isn't as legendary as say it ain't so"? Then how did mark memorize it? How did his band memorize it? How did the millions of people who have listened to the song memorize it? And obviously say it ain't so is a more well known song, it came out in 1994, over 20 years ago! Pumped up kicks was released only 4 years ago. Your argument is based in bias and raw emotion for a band whom I also find amazing. I LOVE WEEZER, and say it ain't so is one of my favorite songs of all time, don't get me wrong. You just sound like an idiot when you don't acknowledge the fact that he was reading lyrics off of a paper because he was ill prepared, not because one song was "more legendary" than the other, or whatever your idiotic phrasing was.
Impuhlz the reason i said say it aint so was a more legendary song was because it was the only legandary song that has been mentioned here... pumped up kicks sucks. i just checked it out because i heard weezer perform it. im not the kind of "tuff guy" thats gonna call people names over the safety of the internet, but you can just metaphorically shove your opinions of me up your ass.

I love his voice more than almost every singer ever. Its really unique. I noticed it on the old tv show craig kilborn, when they played pumped up kicks.

Weezer needed a script to sing Pumped Up Kicks... Foster the People knew this song by heart.... in conclusion Weezer = Legends, Foster the People = new band who shouldn't "retaliate" after a LEGENDARY band covers your song.... Sidenote: I actually stumbled on this video after watching Foo Fighter videos. FOO FIGHTERS!!!!!!
It was me. I've seen FTP a bunch before they hit the big time (same with Grouplove and Young the Giant, actually), so it's kind of weird to me how popular they are now. I remember fangirling with Mark over Little Dragon and them loading their own equipment at SXSW. Those were the days...
I was also brought here because of weezer playing pumped up kicks. Mark mastered this song way before he got famous. Weezer was his favorite band in his teens. Mark did a awesome job on this. Way better than weezer in Costa Mesa, doing Pumped Up Kicks.
davefan16 If your in a band that doesn't have a roadie and 7 extra guitars laying around then most likely your guitar is tuned to E. Its not like the audience will just chill while you tune down a half step.

You know what... usually I would talk shit saying Foster should write their own epic song and not steal Weezer's. But I can tell that he was really feeling the lyrics while singing it. And he did a damn good job. I liked it.
