The music video for this song was filmed in October 1983 so definitely 25. It was filmed around the time the Thriller music video was filmed.

and Linda McCartney's daughter Heather from her first marriage (whom Paul adopted as his own with permission from her biological father) is the girl in the checkered dress you see briefly when they arrive at the orphanage to give them the money they made with their "strength potion) and the man in the hat standing next to Paul McCartney in the pool table scene is the man who directed this video, ( I have forgotten his name) Sadly Linda McCartney passed away from breast cancer in April of 1998, she was only 56. Paul was devastated, they had an amazing marriage, with 3 more children of their own, married in March of 1969. Linda was also the keyboard player, and did back up singing in Paul's group WINGS, which he formed after the BEATLES broke up (he was a member of the Beatles, in case you might not know that.)

Do you know that Paul McCartney wrote most of the song with a little help from Michael, plus Paul played most of the instruments on the track except rhythm guitar, harmonica and drums (though he COULD have played both rhythm and drums because Paul is efficient on those as well) THIS song is on PAUL McCARTNEY's "PIPES OF PEACE" album, and it was ALSO a SINGLE for Paul. NOT for MJ and does not appear on any MJ album. SO give a little appreciation for PAUL on "SAY SAY SAY." It's more HIS than MJ's.

Yeah, Michael is great but Paul wrote the tune and in my opinion stretched out of his comfort zone way more then Jackson .

This song would be forgetable without MJ's vocals. He kills it!

YES!! FINALLY someone who brought this up. MJ seems to be getting all the "glory" here for this video and song. IT is on PAUL"S album 'PIPES OF PEACE" it doesn't appear on any of MJ's albums

@@pestbsn He wrote MOST of it, with some contributions from MJ. Paul played guitar, bass, synthesizer and percussion. The harmonica was played by Chris Smith, rhythm guitar by David Williams and Ricky Lawson on drums, Geoff Emerick who was the Beatles' sound engineer also engineered Say Say Say, and George Martin produced it as he did the majority of the Beatles' albums.

@@kdeloris2225 Of course he was, anyone would have been it was a seriously shady thing to do to a friend. As others have said it was his own fault, he could afford it 10 x over but still tried to get it cheaper. But at the end of the day he is now sitting pretty counting his billion pound fortune and he got the catalogue back without having to pay a penny. While MJ died up to his eye balls in a debt so deep that his estate still haven't managed to pay it off. I would take Paul's place in this particular game of one up manship anyday.

It wasn't Paul that turned it down, Yoko (who was in charge of John Lennon's estate after he was murdered) was the one that turned it down. She wanted to hold out for more and Paul felt like it was a fair price, Yoko didn't agree much to Paul's annoyance. So since they had to both be "on board" since it was the Lennon-McCartney catalogue, it fell through, and then Michael swooped in and bought it. I think that was rather rude myself, seeing as they were friends at the time and after all those songs were written by Paul and John. How would Michael feel if someone bought the songs HE wrote. I have always thought it is totally ABSURD, RIDICULOUS that the person who WRITES the songs DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY OWN them!! Imagine having to get PERMISSION and PAY another person to perform your OWN song in a concert?? Plus the Beatles NEVER wanted their music to be used in commercials, they were actually approached many times by companies who wanted to do that, and always turned them down. Soon as MJ bought their music, he started allowing Beatles songs to be used in commercials. Most of us fans DON'T like that either. THANKFULLY, Paul now OWNS his "babies," the Lennon and McCartney catalogue. They are WHERE they always SHOULD have belonged.

BUT if you notice, they GAVE the money to the ORPHANAGE that they stop at in the middle of the video (you can catch a quick glimpse of Heather, Linda McCartney's oldest daughter from her first marriage, whom Paul adopted with permission from her ex- husband, when they are arriving at the orphanage. She is wearing a checked dress with her blonde hair up, leaning from the left side of the screen to look down on truck arriving)

rather a nasty thing to say, don't you think, since it was mostly written by Paul McCartney. I am not a huge fan of Michael Jackson, but I have never dismissed MJ on anything. I like some of his music and I too love this video. I think they are BOTH great in this video and on this song. WHY do you begrudge Paul being IN the video? It sounds that way, just curious?

@@patticrichton1135 I think I made it clear that I’m just not a fan. I wouldn’t particularly ever choose to listen to or watch him, but because he’s involved with this track (plus the others he did with Michael), I make the exception. Nothing nasty about not being a fan of someone - he’s just not to my taste as a singer or performer. I don’t begrudge him being in the video because it makes sense that he is; I just wouldn’t watch him otherwise. Imagine how many godawful things Michael fans have heard said against him over the years that are far worse than just ‘I’m not a fan’ … then you’d understand what nasty comments truly are!

another person here said that he doesns't like Paul's voice at all! I can't understand that. Paul's voice here is very similar to MJ's yet this person who said that, LOVED MJ's voice. Go figure!
