Saying Goodbye to the Avenger's Tower MOC 

I'm sorry it's been seven years since you built the Avengers MOC?! Oh how time flies. Been watching since the train shed through the hole in the wall days, I can't believe how long it's been.

Farewell MOCavengers Tower. Maybe a Hydra or Shield building if you want to keep it in the Marvel theme… or an Embassy/consulate… and you can put offices and representatives from different YT channels or lego cities arohnd the world. I’m planning to do something similar but not with a grey building 😊

A train station at the base would be the best option because the Avengers Tower is actually located above NYC's Grand Central Station in the Marvel universe

The curves and the transparent blue with the grey just pops!

I think using the base to raise the new Avengers tower sounds like a cool idea. YOur old tower lookes awesome, but the new from Lego sort of look more modern, and with a little more height I am sure that will look awesome in the town too.

Awesome to see the two towers next to each other You should take the pieces from the old tower and make a skyscraper in a similar style and colors to the shmew tower and make it part of a shmew tower complex. IRL there are skyscrapers with smaller similar looking ones around it, it would be cool if you did the same in mindyapolis

Your MOC definitely holds it own against the official Avengers Tower, Alex. Your idea about a train station is great. In terms of new skyscrapers, I think the Oscorp Tower from Spiderman would be good.

I was very close to building my own Avengers Tower based on plans in Rebrickable…purchased the needed sets and accumulating the needed parts. No need with the Lego version…think I will add the base though as it gives it character.

In the movies avengers tower is placed on a cut off version of the MetLife building which stands on grand central terminal. Integrating a train station into the base would be very true to the in-universe version

Always sad to see a favourite moc meet the end of its days, but I definitely think it'd be really cool to add a custom base to the new one. In the movies, the Avengers Tower is set directly behind Grand Central Station, so I'd say the idea of a train station on the ground level is a great idea, especially if you make the base level extend back over the train tracks behind the building. You'd have room for the train station in front if you offset the tower itself back so it's over the tracks, if that makes sense. As for the new building from the moc's pieces, I still like the idea of a cool two-tower resort hotel, maybe overlooking the beach area, with a skybridge connecting them. Kind of like the "Concord CityPlace" in Toronto. You could definitely make one or both of the buildings have that rounded corner shape using the parts from the moc. Admittedly, making two buildings might be a bit much, but one would also be cool!

Your tower looks fantastic, crazy to think you build it 7 years ago. Admittedly there's a lot about yours I prefer including some of the angles. I'd love to see a combination of certain elements of the 2! For example, I like the curve of your window more than theirs to be honest. Theirs definitely needs a wider base which yours has. Also as simple as it is, the palm tree in front makes a world of difference. Great stuff. Hopefully you come up with something great to do with the pieces!

A news center would be kinda neat. But the daily bugle kinda serves that purpose.

I would suggest a TV station. You could have a floor for a TV studio, Newsroom, Radio and offices.

Your tower will be missed. I like the idea of putting a base on to make it taller, as well as the call out to Central Station by putting a train through the bottom of it. I have this same problem with both the Avengers Tower and the Sanctum Sanctorum.

Hey Alex! Awesome idea to build a base for the new avengers tower. As I have said before, that is exactly what this building needs. Also, I am very happy to see that someone is making a base for this in Rebrickable. I am all over this now! As for another building idea, how about Wayne tower from Batman? I have never seen that before, you could be the first one.

Your original Avengers tower was a great custom build. Have you considered going to the other comic universe and making a Daily Planet, Hall of Justice, or Wayne Tower out of the bricks? Would love to see one of those buildings in your city.

The next thing you should do Alex is build an underground mall underneath the residential district or the downtown area!

Funny thing is I was thinking before you even mentioned it that you should do a building with all four corners using the curve pieces. Or maybe you could build it like a plus sign looking down on it from the top with curved corners, but for that you would need twice as many curves as doing a more traditional square building with curved corners.

I think you should build a Baxter building with the pieces from it, even the sign can be reused for the 4!

Would be so cool if you build a modern structure with the leftover pieces of the old Avengers Tower, maybe representing a headquarter of some big corporation like Octan. That can be inspired by the Torre Unicredit in Milan!

Time travels fast. Keep the best of your tower and integrate it to the Lego tower. And yeah that Lego tower needs a better base. And that train station idea is a good one. 🤩👍

I think you could modify it to add a 2 floor base at the bottom of the new tower, similar to the base you already have on your MOC and it should result in a similar height to the MOC.

Definitely think modifying it to replicate the tall part on all sides and make a new skyscraper would look good and that side of it looks quite different on the Lego set so it wouldn't be obvious it started off as an avengers tower.

Panlos set 55120, their HERO TOWER, actually has a great Grand Central base. And as it is NYC grand central, for sure trains are needed

I will say that the triangle bit on the upper floors on the back of the new tower doesn't line up with whats below it.

My farewell wishes to your old tower, it served your city well . Looking at the parts, maybe you could turn it into a corner hi-rise building like they have in new York and San Francisco. Something triangle shaped, could look cool. it doesn’t have to be a remake of a real building either .

I remember when you first build it, when it felt the newest edition to your city, this video kinda fills sentimental. Looking at the future I like the idea of building your own base, it's gonna be cool, I also love that you are going tu build another tower for your city, but I'm not thrilled that it is going to be build with the left overs, you see, I think that having the shmew tower and new avengers tower with the blue gray color scheme, having another gray blue building could be repetitive, that is a lot of blue glass and leaving it on used doesn't seem right so swapping the gray with another color is the way. ¿Octan building returning? Yes! Yes please! I like the idea of saying goodbye to a classic and the return to another one. Of course this are only my thoughts.

Just so you know Alex, In the movies Stark tower aka Avengers tower sits on top of a real life building (the Metlife building) and that is attatched Grand Central Station which, fun fact is the biggest train station in New York and the world. So having the monorail go through it is a great idea.

Keep the old tower for your parallel cityverse

Omg i have the same gripe against the new avengers tower. I also feel like it's not very accurate to the movie. If you could kinda compare the floors with the avengers tower in the movie while you build, that'll be so epic

I really like the idea of the train station base because in the avengers tower is right on top of Grand Central so I’d think that would be a good idea. But I would feel sad for the citizens when they’re just waiting for the train and then an entire fight happens and now there train trip is delayed lmao.

Just search Metlife building which is what the base is based on. It's got that odd shaped octagon shape. That's where the inspiration came from.

I copied your tower as well back then 😂 Will buy the Lego version next week, too. Then the copy of yours also needs to move from my city. But I loved your design. It really added something special to my city as well. So some how I can relate to your feeling about the switch of the buildings. I think buying all the pieces for it had cost me like 300€. Next week I will stock up my inventory of my Bricklink shop with it. Don't worry too much, the community gained so much from your initial building. I defenetly did. Thanks for sharing it with us!

To be far it is 7 years old and does use alot less pieces all of which exsited before the design.... So yeah really impressive how close they really are!

You could turn the old one into a comic version of stark Tower

Get a second tower, double it up, since it needs more wide, that would allow a bigger landing platform and thus allow you to increase the height of that landings platform, so a more properly sized chopper or quinjet, could land. That's a must, right? As for stations, Wayne Terminal? That should balance the tower height & wide, out again. Only problem is that she would then eat two baseplates. Look up this youtube clip by "Structures Explained": Can Avengers Tower be Built in Real World? It shows the Penthouse is missing, for one. The Party Deck needing to be twice as high and other things. And if you want to have fun, create the Stark Tower from the Avenger Movie, that way you would have two very similar buildings, that you could then place as your own Twin Tower setup, above a train station. They have very similar designs, so you could have some fun, there, while creating a four baseplates or longer, train station. Anyway, have fun.

I'm sorry yours is better. If you want to keep the lego one add it on top of your base. The Lego one only has a better color blue. The lego one's landing pad is way too small.

My tower was as big as yours.. my daughter king kong'd it about 3 years ago.. I never built it again the energy was never there.... with the new one coming out... I'm currently using the old one to make a FISK tower.
