Anyone in the BBC who takes voluntary redundancy after 23 years is going to get an eye-watering payoff. You can also bet they will not be paying her the minimum required, it'll be a big fat special gold lined payout.

She won’t be getting the normal redundancy payment. She’s taken early voluntary retirement so she’ll receive 2 years salary based on his best pay and tax free. Plus an immediate pension of half pay forever. Paid for by the licence fee payer out of the tax pot

23 years at the BBC and I have never seen her face before? Who is she? I assume given the fact I don't know her, she will end up on multiple reality TV shows as a "celebrity". Maybe it's because I am in the Midlands and we still only get Low Definition news (yep, we have to turn over for our Low Definition news or spend 30 minutes watching a red screen saying "This program is not available in your area"). She did miss a few things though, as her "Good, Bad, Sad or Funny" should have included "Biased" and "Made up".

A classic example of a corporation giving away money just handed to them, about time the BBC was defunded and made to stand on its own feet and not relying on licence money.

All that money for reading an autocue. Anyway, her little speech suggested that, just like her employer, she has a massively inflated sense of her own importance. I hope she never darkens the door of GB News.

I think you're missing the point here. Yes, Joanna may have received a good redundancy package but she was clearly very upset to be leaving a job she loved. Not everything is about money. I'm sure she also decided to leave cause she was essentially being asked to reapply for her job - which I feel is disgusting on the part of the BBC.

I cancelled my licence filled in the form and informed the locelly TV licence dept I will be cancelling my licence.I then got a week later unindated with not one but three!! I then received a letter addreeesed to me..I replied not known at address, 2weeks later i received another letter to the present occupier I binned it so I await the TV goons from Capita to come a knocking and I wont be inviting them in
