If you reload a save and go see alphys you’ll unlock the true final boss, I highly recommend playing that before playing deltarune as a lot of references in deltarune wont hit as hard if you don’t.

It’s not even that you chose the wrong dialogue options. You literally cannot get the true final boss without reloading a save file

@@oceanangel2896 oh wow this is really good to know!!! I've been considering going back and doing a wrap-up video to tie any loose ends, so I'll def do that before starting deltarune. Is there anything else you'd suggest I do while I'm at it?

@@Not_Sheo make sure to read everything in the area you unlock after talking to alphys. It recontextualizes a lot of the plot and makes many things make sense!!! You might need a tissue box for this one, even though it’s a much happier ending than the one you just got.

@@Not_Sheo when you reload it will take you back to before the fight with Asgore, don’t initiate the fight at all and just go straight to alphys.
