hey I think on one of the other videos about the sayo device I sent the github link, also at somepoint i’ll update my discord to have resources for everything I use like this, ty
Question. Once my switches wear out could i swap the out for normal Gateron or cherry mx switches and just recaliberate it? would that keep the 8k polling rate? or does the polling rate fully depend on the switch? im very confused on that..
polling rate is determined by the device since weather the switch is “actuated” or not is determined In the hardware. as long as the switches are analogue I think it should work (research this) FYI you should almost never have 8k hz polling rate, the (most extreme case) of 0.875 ms is not perceptible at all and will give *no advantage*, the strain it might cause on your system more than oitweights that (likely)
@@a-o-s@a-o-s Man the rapid trigger and actuation is confusing lol & I was a bit confused but I looked it up as you said, and after looking up more on the device I realize that the polling rate doesn't rely on the switch at all, but rather it's the actuation that the switch determines? I did some research, and If I'm not wrong analogue switches are optical, as in it uses infrared light to register an input instead of mechanically doing it? At least that's what I understand, but I'm still not sure exactly what switches the Sayo Device uses. But after looking up what people switch it out for I found someone trying to switch for Lekker linear switches so I think they are compatible, but idk if those are rapid trigger or what those are/do either. I just wanted to know if the Sayo Device is compatible with normal mechanical switches like Gateron reds etc, since they are definitely easier to get once the switches that the Sayo Device comes with wear out. As for the polling rate, I do know that the higher it is the worse the strain on your system is but I know my PC can handle at least 1k so I could just set it to that If my PC dies at 8k or anything higher than 1k polling rate. I personally was interested in the Sayo Device due to how cheap it is compared to optical razer mice because I play Geometry dash, and mice just aren't durable enough to use, because you can't really just replace the switches like you can with a keyboard. And after 2 months they just don't work properly anymore, so the Sayo Device looked nice since ik you can just switch out the switches once they wear out, instead of having to buy an entirely new one like everyone does with mice, which gets quite expensive and becomes a hassle. I don't think people use rapid trigger for gd since I think the game relies more on consistent clicking so I can just calibrate it for that, but what I rlly wanted to know is if it is compatible with mechanical switches like Gateron reds or the cherry switches? I know you can't calibrate them since they aren't as specialized as the rapid trigger ones it comes with, but they are the only switches I can reliably buy and get shipped to my country to replace worn out ones. Do you know what switches the Sayo Device uses? Are Lekker switches the same thing? Don't wanna be a bother but I genuinely can't find any info on that online so maybe you know something Abt. If not that's fine
@@tsuketsu9889 these are not optical, they use magnets, the switch PHYSICALLY can detect how far down the key is pressed, then hardware turns that data in combinations with onboard settings to determine if the key should or shouldn't send a pressed signal. I strongly recommend you get this for geometry dash. I would be ASTONISHED if the switches "wear out" (?) in in your lifetime provided you don't hit them with a hammer or something similar
@@a-o-s I see. I did see some reviews for gd and everyone says it's great. I was just worried about wearing them out, because I have seen top gd players complain that their keyboard switches wear out in 3-4 months and they have to assign different keys on their keyboard to be able to play the game again, Kinda like how mice are junk after 3-5 months of consistently playing gd. So I thought that would translate into the Sayo Device too. I think the issue with gd is you have to consistently press harder for more precision and consistent control over certain gamemodes due to how the game works. Unlike Osu where a light click works just fine. So my worry was knowing if I could use other switches or if I had to find new rapid trigger ones "When they wear out" But if you don't think they will wear out as quickly as I worried, I guess they gotta be better quality than I thought. I'ma give it a try and see how long it lasts for gd. Because buying a new mouse every 4 months ain't it. If it does fail me ig I gotta look for new switches which shouldn't be impossible. Anyway I appreciate the help, thanks man.
@a-o-s As a result, what settings do you have on the buttons ??? I've been playing for half a week and can't find the optimal settings. So far it costs 1 3 5, but it seems to me that I'm doing something wrong ...
I would suggest updating to the lastest firmware, and I think 0.25 0.2 0.2 mm works for me, essentially you want the release to be as low as possible without incorrect/dropping inputs, and press/deadzone enough to be responsive but not inconsistent (not too short)
I haven’t looked into modding myself but I’m fairly confident I have seen people with different switches, but as I said I’m not sure if that’s from manufacturer, or they’ve done some heavy modding or hot swap
something around 10-12 for press, 8-10 for release, and 0 for deadzone for normal stuff. If i’m doing stream maps (that are a bit too fast for me) then 2-3, 2,4, 10
