Petrosyan is a great fighter; its good to see us westerners fighting at such a high skill level in the last few years - Muay Thai is evolving as it gains in popularity
he start with muay thai in the Satori gym in Gorizia , under the supervision of Alfio Romanut , Giorgio , the Armen brother for example fought in Bologna many years ago against a Pinsinchai champ with over 100 fights ...Giorgio had only 14 fights..the fight ended with a draw ! I live in Thailand from 1993 and live into a muay thai gym , i am now 45v and still fighting ! I met the Petrosyan brother personally in march 2010 at the Big show time in Milan once i was took Egon Ract to fight there !
Petrosyan originally was "born" as a muay thai fighter but now he fight k1 style coz he got paid at list 20 times more than a Lumpinee champ that fight in Thailand...offer him the same purse or even more for fight in Thailand and he will do it ...is marketing man !
and I don't think he was "born" as a muay thai fighter. The first thing he probably started was kickboxing or something related to that. Born muay thai fighter means I start training when I am a baby. Born muay thai fighter means training 6 to 10 hours per day (when already proffessional) Born muay thai fighter means training traditionally not only as an athlete. Respect to Petrosyan, he really is a great fighter. But concerning muay thai, he's far away from the tops.
plus..there are kids that start at 14 y.o. also , some even later than that...look at Alexis Gamiz Lazo in the tube...he came here 4 years ago at the age of 26 y.o. ..he did not start MT when he was a babie and he is a pro fighter... he do not train 10 hours a day ...3 hours in the morning and 3 in the evening...is to hot here u know ?
sorry i am not an expert like you , but next reply to you will be in thai...i do not presume to know..things that i do not know...i talk for personal experience , i avoid words like probably" or "i do not think" ..i do not think any think ..i talk about what i know for sure !
