new radios are selling fast how ever the CW over paddle key is not working well ie sending errors,i send by strait key so it may not be a problem for me,use lots of rf clamps on wires as rf may be getting in to set via cable on yo your key also earth your case to shack ground ..jeff..

Haven't seen the code yet, but are you using the touchscreen ability ? - Will the PCB ever be made available without any components soldered onto it ? Looks nice. Traditionally we'd usually see most of these sections with shielding between them, this design seems to omit shielding of any kind, is this not a concern?
Well, there is about 7db of gain between the antenna and the code, so very little to interfere with. There are a few birdies alright due to the raspberry pi, but they are all below the band noise.
Disagree as the connection is no waybas common as RC battery packs and is waterproof. I hate Anderson powerpoles. They need expensive tools and are overpriced and hyper marketed propietary connections.
Yes, the s meter is a very non-objective, perceptional thing. For examplee, the often quoted s9 =50uv is useless on 80m where the noise floor itself can be very high. The spectrum is your signal meter.
Imagine going to all the effort to build Open Source software and hardware only to put a Raspberry Pi in it (RPis are not open hardware and require binary blobs to boot). I fully understand the constraints and alternatives. If you could support open SBCs your hard work wouldn't be polluted by closed source hardware and binary blobs.
I had to balance low cost, availability against open source (risc v) board. I took a middle path, the source code is not at all dependent on the raspberry pi. You can recompile it to any platform rhat supports a stereo codec, multithreading and socket api.
