Even if Tanner gets this one right (which I seriously doubt), look at his body of work. He IS the problem. He needs to go and SC as a whole needs to raise expectations for all sports.
I have a friend who played college ball and works professionally in a coaching role now, he says the guy at North Greenville is a stud and would be a slam dunk. I know nothing of the subject, but respect his opinion.
@CarolinaJackpot the new name that is now being mentioned is Paul Maineri. While most definitely a proven winner, at 66 years old I'm worried the fire ain't in the belly anymore.
Maineiri is a shocker to me, he's almost 67 years old and retired from LSU in 2021. He was very successful at LSU though and won a national championship
Cliff Godwin is really good. He was an assistant at Ole Miss when I was in high school, and he was a great recruiter. I think the world of him as a coach and just in general.
This hire can impact Tanner's future as well. If he gets this wrong it proves he's been useless as an AD. Hiring lousy coaches seems to be his forte. He had more time than any AD in America and we got Muschump. Please don't let Tanner pick your lottery numbers. He never picks a winner!
Mr Jackpot started this video taking about which sport college fans care about...i think it is safe to say that if there was a poll that asked fans "Which sport do you want your team to win a Natty in?" I think its safe to say that over 95% of fans would answer FOOTBALL...i want to feel the feeling of winning a Natty in football before life is over. I know the OPPOSITE feeling because RECENTLY 2 schools within a couple hundred miles have won themselves several nattys and it hurts. We need to ask ourselves "Is Mr Tanner the AD that will hire us a coach to win is a Natty?" If NO is our answer, we need to boycott,strike, or PEACEFULLY PROTEST to get Mr Tanner removed.
Success in football, basketball and baseball in the SEC can't be compared. Very different sports w their own difficulties and completely different power dynamics. In baseball we should expect more than in football. We are better set up to compete there.
Ray needs to step down as AD and either go back to coaching baseball or retire. Best case go back to baseball keep Monte as an assistant and bring Landon in to groom for the future. I’ve completely lost faith in Ray as an AD. I’ll be forever grateful for what he did as a coach but he just ain’t cutting it as an AD.
@@CarolinaJackpot nope, Florida was the last team to make the tournament as a at large. Was 28-27, and 13-17 in SEC. I think we swept them in the regular season

I’m not sure the current talent is worth pleasing anyway. I think it would be better to bring someone else in and start clean. With the way the portal is we can retain the ones we want and get a bunch of new and hopefully better guys in. If the ecu coach comes I’m sure he has some studs who will follow him to Carolina.
Fully agree!! Bowing down to whatever kids want is the strongest sign of weakness and confusion! Let the fully grown adults being paid plenty money do their job and find a high quality coach
The rumors around Vol Nation it’s a done deal with Elander. I hate to see him go but he deserves to be a head coach. If it’s true you are getting amazing coach and person.
I don't like seeing our current acting HC running his own job campaign trying to get players and ex players to vouch for him on social media. Leave that for politics. Those folks won't magically help us if this goes wrong won't they? They don't know what makes a good coach. They just know who they like. They are not the ones to make the costly and risky decision and dealing with the future consequences.
Would be a tall order to get Cliff Godwin to leave his alma mater. He's been there for 10 yrs and fans love him there.....Not a lot of pressure to win there at East Carolina....staying with Gilmore at Coastal ....

@@user-ll2zt9fb9xBeamer puts pressure all on himself. He brought in multiple new coaches which all have great resumes and are winners and has done very well in the portal. He was very clear how disappointing last season was. He loves the school. All Kingston ever did is sitting stone faced, shrugging shoulders and find excuses and say how difficult everything is, how lucky we are to get into the post season... He's got the demeanor of an accountant. And he never seemed to even want to be here
I agree with you. The sheet show applies to ALL the sports now.. The NCAA is now RUINED sports for me and everyone of my friends agree. Thanks to wokeism, everyone gets a Trophy generation can mess up over 100 years of loyalty and football Saturdays 😢
