It's like all 3 races have a ceiling... Protoss is nice - it's glass, it's beautiful outside. Terrans have a hot air balloon, sometimes they can get that thing inflated and the sky is barely a limit. Then Zergs... they've got a metre thick steel roof, that might be hard to break through... but then again they're Zerg so their are acids & piercing claws at hand. Yes they can be harder, but the beauty (ease of play relatively speaking - *without* spell/ability casters) is only nice to look at. Have needed a more dynamic ceiling than what Zergs & Terrans get, even if it means making the race mildly harder on macro.
Wow, Serral is just so solid. He just doesn't seem to have any weakness in this matchup. And Hero countering abduct with warp prims micro was so impressive. Such great games!!
2:00 This is a really great way to accelerate Adept pressure! I *think* it's dependent upon a map like this with a narrow choke. Otherwise your wall would be too late vs early Lings.
Hero is the best. His planning and execution is flawless. Neeb or Astrea are just two noobs compared to him. But Serral showed unbelievable strategic thinking when being low on drones and knowing that Hero is only on 2 bases Serral made army untill he stopped that almost unbeatable push. He was on the edge of defeat. Most zergs would try to make drones and lose. That game is definitely at the level of top final game.
Was thinking of a recall on interceptors... to scout or aid in corss map bombing run... on scvs... in a then attack move shift on each scv or target area.. would they shoot... hmm carrier range is 16 interceptor range... but base 6 ....
@@MAAJ1987 but they are playing StarCraft not supply wars. You seem to not understand how the game works. This was a very close two games that serial barely won. But be salty with yourself if you have to
Im filing an imbalance complain at IODIS next time I get chance. Serral is absolutely imba and until they nerf him, we protoss are never gonna be able to win.
Problem is its not just Serral.. theres a reason why we've seen even second or third tier zergs do so well over the last few years.. ragnarok, lambo etc. Zerg needs a nerf
@@rat2244 Yeah vipers are just ridiculous. They basically counter all the good units protoss has and defeat any protoss army. If you want to win as zerg, just make vipers. Abduct needs to be nerfed into the ground.
@@evelic You realize that Zerg found ways to deal with collossus back in Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm right? Way before vipers existed, Zerg didn't just lose every game. And colossus were stronger back then, they didn't do bonus damage to light, they did good damage to everything. Protoss didn't win every tournament back then. It was doable, modern zerg have just forgotten any other counters exist because vipers are the braindead easy button.
It's so nice seeing Protoss finally get put down a peg. Disruptor and Shield Battery nerfs were a lot more significant than expected and practically removes two problem units that have been plaguing the game for years. Great balance patch.
Thing is, at this level, Protoss was already balanced, or even slightly underperforming. Protoss was OP at the lower end of the pro scene and on most of the ladder, largely because carriers were difficult to deal with in PvZ, and Protoss gets the initial eco lead and techs first vs Terran to dictate the game a bit more. Though Zerg was the race in that position (except also winning the most tournaments at every level) for almost 10 years (Barring a few periods of Terran dominance such as at the start of WoL/HoTS) until the patch in August 2020 that nerfed banelings to 15 damage vs non-light and buffed oracles, voidrays, carriers and tempests.
@@eckolnovkol5111 Lol you're dumb if you think protoss is op and I say this as a Terran player. SC2 has always been balanced based on top tier play and zerg has been dominating for years. They need a huge nerf
@@zacrusk5274 maybe it is just that other pro protoss were not that good compared to pro zerg and pro terrans. After all HerO was winning without any balance changes, he simply adopted a new different strategy.
@@orangepearlf40 Do you know HT is in the whole other tech branch? How do you have HT and Colossi simutaneously in mid game timing? How much gas do you have? You need Colossi/disruptor just for surviving from Hydra/roach ravager respectively. But Viper just counter both of them without any other options exept for HT. Even without viper, Zerg has mutas, corrupters, and even roach to counter Colossi and ling bane to counter disruptors for early obtions. Even skytoss can be nicely solved with Vipers (litterally every tier 3 protoss unit can be countered by Viper). It has difference between "tier 3 units for the win" and "tier 3 units for surviving". If you rush the HT tech, congratulation! You are trading 1 colossi timing for only 2 storms. Good luck to deal with swarms. "Pros are just refusing to use them and look at the results" OMG! They are playing for their career. Do you have awareness about that?
imagine being behind in eco all game, donating units the entire early game, building pure tier 1 units with 2 vipers vs a decked out tier 2 and tier 3 army, getting outmicroed in the fight and then just amoving to victory.
Imagine wasting a lot of time and resources into a cheesy rush that achieved nothing, get your expands continually cancelled, be extremely late with your proper attack to the point where the opponent already has all the answers to it, and then still almost win
@XDezibellX I agree with you there. At 12:15 they had equal army supply yet banelings still manage to kill non light units. Even after nerfs they are still the best units in the game. Even with 5 immortals and 4 colossi. That is ridiculous
@@TheThinkerClown Did nothing = equal in eco? Getting your nexus cancelled also does not change the eco being equal. You're just agreeing with me. Protoss actually needs to be ahead in eco to be able to beat zerg. And that's impossible.
Hero lost to serral because he believed he could out micro serral playing self-hurt comp (immortal colossus and mass stalker) against ling bane viper, the warp prism micro was insane but ineffective, that is just straight up disrespectful and at the same time, ignorant. It was all about composition choice. Had he play Archon, HT and chargelot, hero could just a move and win, the only micro he would have needed is feedback the vipers. But no, he had to make it fancy, make it flashy. Warp prism micro was very beautiful, but after each fight he lost most of his army even winning, because he was too busy with the warp prism. It was like a pyrrhic victory effect. You won the battle, but you cannot finish the war. And zerg is good at remaxing, which is their nature. Just slow down and use your brain, you will see that theres nothing imbalance or unfair, in game or life.
@@tungnse ah, if only the mighty TungNguyen-yr8dt had been there to coach herO. Alas, it was not meant to be. Clearly, if you just build Archon, HT, and chargelot, you can just A-move and use very simple micro against the best Zerg player in the world and win. Rank 1, here I come! Nothing unfair in life you say? How dumb are you? There are people being born into war, poverty, famine, and other horrible situations. Meanwhile, there are privileged people like you and me who argue about a fucking video game. "Slow down and use your brain"
Hero really loves his stalkers. The trashiest unit in sc2. 125/50 for such a mediocre unit. Even with perfect micro it loses to an army cheaper than itself. Absolute trash.
