as a fellow zerg player you have no idea how much joy it brings me to see you smash up a terran player like this.......i just can't stand the state the matchup is in right now.....constant all ins, bunker rushes that don't really cost the terran that much when they fail......huge thumbs up for this.....you just made my day
based on your description on the bottom and how f'd in the a you were after that hellion marauder push, i thought you were done for sure...i can't believe you came back dude! i thought you were gonna gg when you saw all those hellions
What's interesting is that you weren't in a totally hopeless spot after his initial push. He really committed to it, and when the dust settled, the harvester count was close to even. Day9 often states, that it's crucial not to have this "omg, I'm so much behind" feeling, but keep it cool instead. With that in mind, I can clearly say that your defence was just flawless, Psy. You had just barely enough units to stay alive, and managed to pull it off. Congrats!
psy u are awesome for coming back from that all-in. So many other players would of raged quit and left the game after your opponent killed your natural and was inside of your main killing most of your drones and u had like so few units to defend. Mad props man!!
Nice game, the drone-salvage on hellion harras to spines is awesome. Also, I always wondered, why don't people use baneling mines (an generally burrow) more often, probably it's too micro intensive, but really fun to watch :)
Grats Psy, you're one of the few people I've seen survive a marauder helion push. You however got REALLY lucky that he didn't A. sneak a base and B. scan the banelings.
I've seen hellion marauder pushes a couple times, think it's strong only if the zerg doesn't have the right balance of lings and roaches to find it off. Plus it burns their resources when they're running off of one base with mules so as long as it doesn't outright kill you then you're going to be well ahead once his mineral patches start to thin out.
@Menelyagor12 It's a courtesy in the SC community to say gg when you get beaten and since it's a courtesy, it is considered BM if you don't do it. And since most ppl don't do it when they're enraged ( I can immagine that Baz got mad over the banelings blowing up his entire army) it's often considered a rage quit when you leave like that.
Way to hang in there, PsY. That was fun to watch. Question: What's the advantage of exploding the Banelings while burrowed instead of unburrowing and moving or attack-moving?
@mattcky2876 You're right about the all-in cheese but the T figured he was far enough ahead to just end it with the 2nd push and that was a good call imo, if he had microed his marines he might have been able to save a couple rines left in addition to the thor to finish the mutas.
@pit173 the only problem with that theory is that terran usually can expand as well as doing these sorts of pushes, they just don't cause they think they can kill the zerg and it usually works
@TheVv9 you tell all your mutas to fly into one spot, then they auto spread out, then you move comand them over a target, and tell them to hold position over the target. because their spread out they don't get splash. thiers tutorials online if you look em up
great game, interesting start from T. is it really a rage quit if they've pretty much lost though? hard to see much that he could have done after the last push failed.
Y'know what, I usually don't like it when people say stupid things to get likes on their videos. But what you say are helpful and smart remarks, so even though I haven't watched yet I will like it now!
was Husky and the lay down interview involved in this soul searching? I do recall you telling Zai that you own women's panties (Zai's walkthrough for Mision 5)
I remember Idra saying in one of Artoses' interviews that Zerg simply isn't a comeback race like Terran or Toss. Well, here is the perfect counterproof.
I reckon some form of Baneling/Roach combo would have worked well against that early push. Yeah it's gas heavy but the Roaches aren't armoured or light so they'll survive enough to make a mess of the Hellions, then the Roachs can swoops down and deal with the Marauders.
@Goatsguffle but they ARE up to par with their last tier. the few times a terran gets battlecruisers against me it makes a ball of death that corruptor just can't kill, thors are the most powerful heavy unit in the game, ravens are horrifying to play against, ghost play can be really good, etc. outlasting them does often work but it is very difficult to achieve
@MrEM4N Well I don't remember him ever saying that, but I do remember him saying he wanted to cover it up because it showed how much time was left, so yeah...
I've had this pulled against me lately, although i got crushed. I just though hellions were coming then the marauders come in.....gahhh its tough but I don't know how you held that. Well done.
@WinninGuy Bunker rush? Fast banshees? Canon rush (after the patch to 3 pylons) and fast pool only work at maximum gold lvl plays. But what do terrans have? MMM with stim pack? That work against almost anything. I think terrans are the easiest to play by far.
I think an early third queen would help alot, extra transfusion and queen durability to combat the hellions while you get your spire up to deal witht he ground only force. then transition straight into muta ling and go for the win. great game. i think one extra queen might be a valid tactic to wreck the triple tech hellion push.
@TimBillyRichie i guess the point of banelings is to kill units instantly, so they won't even have time to react, and also it throws away your opponent tactical plan, but the main reason it's FUN ) but thats just my opinion
@McGangBang99 when you throw everything you have at the other person and spending all of your income on that strategy. Basically it's a win if the attack is successful and a loss if your opponent counters it.
