+ttttenney With the modern Spektrum radios, like the DX6 you can assign multiple functions to the same switch. So for example the B switch can be both the 3 position flap switch and the Dual Rate switch with a Takeoff mode, cruise mode and landing mode.
Maidened mine today with your fight mode recommendations and also the flap mixing from Horizon Hobby and really happy with the plane. Would up elevator with aileron mix be a bad thing, Im getting nice level flight with 3/4 trottle but lose a fair amount of altitude with out elevator in the turns, I expect that but could mixing be added?
Elevator is always required in turns. Aileron alone will not turn the aircraft. Mixing will not help. Learn to move the elevator just after setting the bank angle. The amount of elevator depends on the bank angle, so just play with it and learn what that aircraft needs. Each aircraft is different as to the amount of elevator needed for turns.
RC Instructor Read good review on RC flyer forum and I want a more real look, also the Dave Brown Treaded Lite Flite 4" Wheels will add a bit of clearance and shock absortion
Nice video but it would also help if you could rationalise some of the settings. E.g. Why throttle cut?, instead of just saying it flips from -130 to -100.
+Timothy Kemmerer The range test makes sure that your transmitter will work OK when the aircraft is further away. It simulates this by reducing the broadcast power of the radio so that the signal to the receiver is as if it is much further away. It is an important test to verify the receiver antenna in the aircraft is in a good position. You should do this once before you fly the aircraft for the first time.
