It for some reason sounds like an American V8 but that's just me listening to the rumble of the engine, I could be wrong. It could just be the exhaust system he has on the car. I'm new to this channel so idk for sure.
Ayo i just read the other comments and i never knew such automatic transmissions that are capable of this even existed haha. Learn something new every time
Did a hill climb in my 96 Camry with a few uncles and aunties in their S2000s. Unlike ur SC my car could barely keep up. Took the corners like a champ and I'd see them at the very end of the next corner once I finished the current one. That 2.2L 4 banger was worked its hardest its ever been worked in its life during that time. Trans was on PWR mode and O/D Off. Very fun drive.
Do some suspension tuning and alignment with good 200 treadwear tires and good brakes, I promise it will wake the camry up. Sway bars also help along with a more aggressive alignment
@@saeturn29haha appreciate the advice man, but the car got totaled at school a few months back. Was working part time so I was only able to add a strut brace and new KYB shocks. Tires were new but the cheapest brand I could get. Gonna miss that car.
Awesome video! And love the black interior. But quick question how does the SC really perform when your tossing her around? I know these cars a bit on the heavier side.. but man.. you kept up with those S2Ks pretty well 👍🏼 and those you can toss around for days!
The car can turn in and out of the corners really well if you have the right components such as coilovers, sway bars and a limited slip diff. It's not for novice drivers so it takes some seat time to understand and appreciate the potential of the chassis.
Yes.. stiffen up/lower/TT supra bars/wheel/tires/relocate battery to trunk/LS 400 brakes/sunroof delete (weight reduction) places this front mid engine jewel into a definite canyon carver... possibly superior to the MK4 due to mid engine platform and stiffer chassis.. it'd make a great competition video🧐
@@jeremiahcastellano1964 welcome to the Z30 platform! it's the same A650E 5sp auto from the GS400 which has the E-shift. I'm going 6sp manual soon though.
0:48 I HATE when people do that in front of me. Move to the side, and it is usually to the left. I am talking about normal traffic jam situations, and it is always some lady who swerves to the left, thinking she is going to dodge all the cars. I am always aware, and I have a good idea of what my brakes are capable of. I never swerve over like that unless absolutely necessary.
hey what do you have done with the suspension? wondering cause i wanna get mine going like this eventually.i was told just the bushing for lower control arms make a night and day difference but wondering what else could be good
98-00 sc400 has vvti so power was rated 290hp paired to 5sp auto A650E. The E-shift setup found in the gs400/is300 would make the car a tad More responsive. Also long tube headers make a bigger difference with exhaust and intake
400k on original engine and transmission and 3 years of hard track days, so no... It doesn't hurt the gearbox as long as you drain and fill the atf routinely. I will be going 6spd manual conversion since the at gearbox limits the potential of the 1uz vvti

@@saeturn29 nice thanks, looking to buy a sc in a week if it’s still there, and always thought all the aftermarket steering wheels i’ve seen looked unnatural, but this one fits really well.
That so freaking horrible for your trans. I don’t recommend ever putting it in neutral and launching it to D like it a manual. Eventually your gears will start to slip. I use to do that myself my gears started to slip into neutral out of no where while driving.
@@HungBui-op8rw none. This is the same transmission used in the gs400 and is300 with E-shift. This transmission is designed for spirited driving. Been pushing this slush box for 2 years of hard track driving as well.
@@saeturn29 yeah I know I’m on the same auto box rn in my is300. It could be that I was using a 90s Korean car. After 3 months of hard driving on the Tiburon shifting it in a out of neutral/doing hill climb my transmission would occasionally slip out of gear
