Thank you so much!! I have run one out of fuel and had the gravel issue as well....I didn't know about the bolt on the brake. But excellent video. Appreciate you taking the time to do it.
Thank you!! I've been smelling something burning here and there with mine could not for the life of me figure out where it was coming from! Now I make sure to check in there when I blow off my mower at the end of each day haven't smelled any burning since!
I work at scag dealer ship. And I'm glad you pointed out flaws. Does not mean it's a bad unit. I service over 300 scags a year. Scag is a tank just a few things they need to work out.
I havea 29hp furl inj.scagg the motor dies downalmost then picks up normal. Replaced fuel filter it acts as starving for fuel. What should line pressure be. Thanks
Mine was doing that it was a plugged muffler , it ended up cracking the heads, it got so hot . I had someone else running it ..took it to the dealer , they changed belts oils , plugs air filters , muffler everything , still didn't run they said it was the throttle body , I did a compression check and thought no it ain't, two cracked heads , I put new ones on it , she runs good again.. 26.5 hp efi kohler 2017 turf tiger 52"
I beg the differ! Scag is over well built so it’s heavier and the deck is heavy to so when you lifting the deck with your feet it get heavy on the foot iit’s built like a tank and that the problem we don’t need a tank we need a mower and nothing cuts better then a exmark that’s a fact but scag is very good a cutting wet grass faster and better then the exmark but that’s about it if they just stop with the over building then it miybe something different!
Great video - wish there were more like these. My dealer actually prepped the brake bolts before delivery 5 years ago - I asked about them a while ago when mentioned in another video somewhere. Anyway - great info. What I do before every mowing is use a blower to clean all the grass from the engine, oil and hydraulic coolers, on the mower deck and behind the wheels. I mow 30 acres with tall grass and it gets everywhere! I am amazed at how much accumulates in front of the cooler fans. I also dig the wench setup you have - also the safety jack underneath : )
CONNOR, YOU ARE MY HERO. I'M A 90 YEAR OLD OWNER OF A SCAG TIGER CAT. I PARKED THE MACHINE FOR 5 OR 6 DAYS, CAME BACK AND FILLED THE 4 GAL TANK AND WAS CRUSHED TO FIND IT WOULD NOT START. AFTER REPLACING A PERFECTLY GOOD FILTER, AND A SPARK PLUG PLUS MAKING SOME OTHER SIMPLY TESTS, I WAS CONVINCED THAT IT WAS NOT GETTING FUEL. I DID TRY BLOWING AIR BACK INTO THE 4 G GAS TANK, BUT THAT WAS A JOKE. I WATCHED A COUPLE OF LONG UTUBES THAT WERE WAY TOO TECHNICAL FOR ME. THEN I SAW YOUR 3 THINGS AND FIGURED WHY NOT? SO YOU SAID REVERSE THE INNER AIR FILTER AND GIVE IT A GO. I THOUGHT THIS GUY MUST BE HIGH ON SOMETHING (TOO MANY GAS FUMES). FIRST OF ALL THE FILTER WOULD NOT STAY CONNECTED BUT I SAID WHY NOT REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT, WHICH I DID. THE NEXT STEP WAS ONE THAT I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE - THE DAMNED THING STARTED. YOU SAVED ME A SMALL FORTUNE IN REPAIRS AND TRANSPORTATION AND I HAVEN'T A CLUE WHY IT WORKED. THANK YOU,THANK YOU!
It worked because the engine was supplying fuel with almost no air coming along to mix with it, leaving extra fuel in the cylinder upon normal startup. This gives a significantly richer A/F ratio. It’s basically a full choke, further upstream.
Life hack::::::: just unscrew the Phillips on the intake manifold. And put your palm over the carburetor.. been running these forever... trust me.. takes 30 seconds
I was told those are breakaway bolts and they break because the mower is not being strapped down so they bounce around on the trailer. Glad to hear there trying to fix this issue.
The only issue I had with mine was the brake issue. Mine didn't break they just backed out. Locked tighted then and haven't had an issue since thankfully
Had the same parking brake issue on my 2019 SCAG TT2. Loosened my wheel bolts too and rounded out the holes, they ended up replacing brake parts and wheel. Also had front wheel axel come loose and destroy the bearing. No motor issues yet, love the big 37hp.
I jad problems with the engine shutting off every 30 minutes and brake not holding. I can't figure out why but I have a idea what it is. I'm tired with scag I'm slowly starting to go with ferris. Thanks to scag I have to switch over.
My e brake, breaks not wrking recently. . wonder if thats the problem. . gettin no spring back on the pedal, and a creek or squeek comeing from somwere when i push the pedal up and dwn by hand.
I have never had any luck with a briggs engine, I just purchased a used 20 year old Commercial Ferris 61 inch cut zero turn it had a kohler engine that threw a rod (because no one checked oil) i installed a new/used one off another mower I have put some new blades on and man it cuts perfect Also my yard is a little hilly and it does not have much of a problem with them center of gravity is low
I felt the same as you about Briggs. I'm an older fellow and years back it seemed like B&S engines were just junk. In the last 6 or 7years due to circumstance I have wound up with two mowers with these engines. One is a 27HP on a Ferris and the other is the 37HP fuel-injected horizontal on the Scag. I don't know if the larger engines are better or if Briggs and Stratton has improved that much in general but, I have to say I've been well satisfied so far. No issues at all for either engine. I don't really mow commercial but I have approximately 15-18 acres of yards that I mow regularly for myself, neighbors, and relatives. And a long mowing season here in the South. So, it's not like they haven't been used - just not abused. I try to take care of my equipment.
Young man please learn how to support your mower with jackstands proprtly.bDo not depend on the overhead hoist. Block the front wheels. Blow the chaff off the mower. My tiger 2800 hrs no problems like yours.
@@connorklein6299 we've got 2 tiger IIs and I checked them and one had a loose bolt. We have 600 hours on them so we're lucky we didn't run into your situation lol. Gotta loctite them now
