Thank you for posting. This is one of the few videos showing the pump housing removed from the pump case for Scala2. I cannot understand the audio, but you seem to be demonstrating a tear in one of the O rings. I have seen this exact same thing, my understanding is that this tear is caused when the chamber is removed from the housing and crosses that port that you sanded down. It would only be responsible for a possible leak if you reinstalled this torn O Ring and only then if there was a leak from elsewhere like the main shaft seal. The size of the ORing you replaced is 112 x 4 mm - Grundfos dont seem to advocate removal of the rotor which is necessary to replace the bearings, this should be done everytime there is a mainshaft seal leak as bearing life will be shortened due to exposure to water for an uncertain period - (water will leak from the rear port underneath). My experience is that it is the O Rings in the mainshaft seal (Metric 11x3mm and Imperial BS115 17.12mm x 2.62 Nitrile70) that fail not the ceramic surfaces. A raindrop detector pad/ circuit needs to put under the port beneath the pump (the front port) so an alarm light comes on to detect a leak as soon as it starts and then the seal can quickly be repaired before any bearing damage. Examine the carbon/silicon surface under high power visually and if undamaged consider replacing the mainshaft O Rings only- easy and cheap maintenance to keep the pump going. There are hundreds of posts online of this pump failing prematurely from main seal leaking leading to leaking and bearing failure (pump making a load noise). Grundfos have said they have addressed the pre 2019 failure problem of a leaking housing in the composite material, but have not addressed the issue of premature main shaft seal failure. Early seal repair/replacement can help maintain the useful life of what otherwise is a cleverly designed pump for domestic use.
Hi there thank you for this comment,,actualy the main problem why scala got leak problem,,its because of that casing of the pump impeller. It is not due from shaftseal issue,, im using filipino language im not good in speaking straight english word,,haha
@@stephencampbell5991 Open the pump housing by removing all the screws, remove impellers and main seal from shaft. Now the pump chamber has to be slowly slid out of the outer pump housing. Use a large flat blade screwdriver under the lip where the screws go and gently force the pump chamber out of the housing. It is quite tight but bit by bit lever it out slowly and symmetrically and it will slide out. Once removed you will be able to pull out rotor with the 2 bearings on it. Note the position of a white plastic washer. You will need some sort of puller or press to remove and replace bearings. Be careful not to mark the shaft around where the main seal goes. When re inserting the pump chamber into the housing make sure all the large ORings are in good order and haven't been damaged and use a lubricant. I used the stainless steel screws to press the pump chamber into the housing the final bit. Hope this helps.
Scala pump common problem is leaking inside up to windings,the part that need to replace is not available and grundfos donot sell that part as it is set to its whole motor windings and pump body so declared it not repairable, but we can do remedy for that parts

Mao nga nagresearch na lang ko. Nagabasa sa ilalom. Pero kung kanunay gamiton dili mo ilaw ang #3(after reset). But if nakastandby ang scala2 mga 3 hours , mu ilaw napud ang #3. Unsa kaha ni? ntry nyo na po ba ireset? ppindutin nyo lang un mam. tapos mag pprime sya. after nun nawawala din. sabi sa ibang videos online, pag hindi nawawala posible napasukan ng bara or bato na maliliit. need lang idrain. check nyo din po manual basahin po ninyo mam.
