Hey Jon. Can you use Parafilm over a painted surface, instead of Tamiya tape? I have some very irregular edges to mask and it would seem Parafilm would be better than using Tamiya tape.

You can, though the difficulty is in cutting it to shape. Because it has to be stretched and applied to the model before cutting, the process of cutting will usually leave marks in the paints. For more complicated patterns, I generally apply Tamiya tape to the model, though I don't burnish it down tightly. I then draw the pattern on the model, remove the tape, cut it, and re-apply. It helps to make a few marks to note where it crosses panel lines, etc. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Started with hand painting and toothpick to scrape over painting and moved on to Tamiya tape with cutting but sometimes hard to get the edges defined. Have ordered a roll of this to try out. TY
