Yeah I have the gray one on the way, I have three other K5 Three of the smashers first thing I did is relocate the screws to the back of the housing for better steering. Can’t wait to get mine it looks so good. Appreciate the video I’ll be watching for more
I'd say the FCX18, I think with the metal chassis and the battery up front, it makes a difference to the out the box performance. I think the FCX18 has more overall potential than the FCX24. 👍
3:14 Wheelbase should be the same across the entire lineup; Rochobby Katana, EazyRC Patrion/Patriot, FMS LC80 and this latest FCX18 version because it is the same hardbody. The track however, is super wide due to the over-wide portal axles.
Great review video! This thing is sweet. Looking forward to getting my hands on this. Yes different tires and weighted wheels would make this a beast. Would you go with a taller tire? Anyway nice vid! Well done sir. 👍🏼
Awesome, hope you like it. Check out my upgrade videos in my Mini Crawlers playlist. I've tested a few different tyres now and got a video on free mods. 👍
Thanks very much 👍 Check out my Mini Crawlers playlist, I've got upgrade videos in there plus free mods you can do. 👍 It's a great little rig with brass wheels and decent tyres. 👍
I just ordered the yellow one im very excited to get it cant wait lots of footage will be done with it 😁👍 but because of the mid autum festival in china atm i wont be getting mine right away gonna have to wait a few days before they send it to me other than that im very pumped to get it
Awesome, I really like the look on the yellow one. They're all really nice colours aren't they. The blue two tone has really grown on me. Hope you enjoy yours. 👍😎
@@DoURC yes the two tone is very nice i just wanted something bit more different and i have two blue rigs already so yellow should stand out between em hehe and thanks i will definitely be enjoying it but i just gotta wait a while before i get mine hehe
@NWrcadventures Yeah that's fair enough. I think the yellow is a nice colour. 👍 I'm looking forward to adding some accessories to mine and doing a few mods. 👍
@@DoURC ohh yeah im all about mods and scale accessories on my rigs i have the trx4m high traill and i decked it all out to look like an overland truck its looks amazing if your curious of how it looks i did post a video of it recently on my channel i think it looks great as i fixed it im very happy with it and its been a very solid little truck for me just like my trx4m defender i have just taller 👍
Yeah it's a much better rig out the box and better value for money imo. 👍 Only main downside to the FCX18 vs the TRX4M is the FCX18 isn't fully waterproof.
I don't, I'll check them when I look at the shock oil, won't be until next week though as need to do a few things with it first. It could be the shock oil weight though or even the o ring potentially. I'll find out soon enough. 👍
Soon, it will be mine. In yellow. It looks quite stiff on its suspensions. O-ring in the shocks act as a brake, i think. Don't you think a no-oil shock system (same as on the FCX24) would work better than this new one ?
Awesome, hope you enjoy it. The shocks are a bit hard. I'd still say better than just friction shocks though. I don't like friction shocks, too bouncy and less stable. If the o ring is lubricated it shouldn't cause issues. It's either the shock oil they've used or sping stiffness. I'm going to take mine apart soon to see. 👍
I think the wheels are vented. They're pretty decent tyres out the box, but could definitely be better. I'm going to switch to some Injora tyres I think with brass wheels. 👍
Not with the esc but with the power switch. The switch isn't waterproof, so if you've ran it in water and it won't turn on, I'd bet your switch is sticking. I deleted my power switch, do it powers on like a trx4m, as you connect the battery. No more issues. 👍
@@DoURC Thanks 👍 I just got it yesterday. I tried switching the running mode on the transmitter just like you suggested but it doesn’t have any change on the lights. Changes the drive mode only.
@Jay-ws7tv If you watch my comparison video you'll see the fcx18 walks all over the trx4m out the box, plus is much better value for money. Imo the FCX24 is better than the trx4m as well. I've got upgrade videos and running videos in my Mini Crawlers playlist too that will give you an idea of what they're all capable of. 👍
🤣 Excellent, it's an awesome rig, check out my Mini Crawlers playlist for some free mods you can do. 👍 If you'd like to support the channel you can use my referral link in description. 👍
I wouldn't say they're 'that' fragile. I've been rougher than most with mine, mudded them, rock crawled them etc and broken nothing on any of all 3 of my FCX18 LC80's. Imo the key is knowing when to stop. People tend to keep pushing them when they're bound up on an obstacle etc and then wonder why they break! 🤦 But yes, metal shafts and gears is a good idea, although mine are still all stock with no issues. 👍
