Honestly what dave said is true, customer service is key, making sure you're 100% honest to a customer is literally good ethics, and if a company can't do that, sh*t like this happens.... Really unfortunate to see this. Also shout out to the kid at the end of the video hitting some sick shots with the ball👀

Threaten to report the rental company for fraud. Because fraud is taken very serious in the UAE and carries a hefty fine and is even a jailable offense. Hopefully that helps! Good luck and be safe out there boys!

100% agree with you guys on the rental. You paying good money so the car must be safe and reliable. Anything else is just poor service. Transparency is a huge deal in business and in daily life and not to be taken lightly. Great episode.

It's not about the problem itself a lot of the time, usually it's about what you do and the effort you will go to in order to overcome the problem. This car hire guy and his customer service is unbelievable. I really hope he realises and steps up.

Obviously you have the video showing previous damage but did you document the damage with them? I can see them trying to charge for damage. Also, with this being such a hi visibility event, surprised how the car looks. Wonder if they have other car rentals there also, with as much time they are spending on the grid. What do they look like. Stay safe and hope you aren’t looking at a bunch of warning lights on the dash on first start. Love the content, thanks for taking us along!!

Big L from that renting company. Ruined the experience already 1 day before the start.. So sad to see that those guys just don't care for their cars and customers. From a business point, as a renting company you would make it a good looking, safe and clean as possible car. It's free f'ing promotion for them and they even get 25k for it. Not going to lie; this is my first RU-vid comment I felt compelled to post. Arguable Fact: DDE has the ability to entertain the countless many who enjoy their content. However for me, this video struck a chord because it ended on a realist note with the mentioning of $25k/7 day rental and safety being of concern. In my opinion honesty as a person in-or-out of business is a trait we all should share amongst each-other. Despite the car condition and despite the setback, this video is nothing but positivity: in my perceived opinion DDE’s noticeable discontent with regards towards a possibly questionable car truly show us this channel has huge Heart N Soul which extends far beyond the stretches of any road driving this planet has to offer. p.s. Sensationalized content with a realist approach like this with heart and soul is why I subscribe

The point of Dave's perspective and analysis as a business owner as himself and Damon's a car guy perspective to prove not being a youtuber, they just want to be safe enough to drive and trust the car. Just be safe DDE to the scammers and lesson learn...

Unfortunately we had a similar experience with exotic car rental in Dubai. About 2 years ago we rented a 650s spider. First it was delivered to the wrong address (to Abu Dhabi lol) then when it finally arrived it had a check engine light and overheating issues.

WOW! $25k for 9 days and that's the "product" they are presenting? Plus if the "looks" are like that it tells you they do the absolute minimum to "maintain" things. So I would be worried about the mechanical aspect as well. The rep seemed pretty arrogant... "my phone went dead" yeah right! lol Damon SICK EM!!! Time to flex a little muscle and call in your resources since you guys are VERY well known and connected. If that was my company I would be embarrassed to have a car of that caliper in that condition. Can't believe the screws in the side and mis-matched tires! Not like you guys are 18 year old kids renting it for 6 hours to go for a "joy ride". Not a great way to get referral business! ;) I would try and get another car and maybe miss 1/2-1 day rather then risk 9 of possible misery/danger in that car! But if we are a day behind you already made your decision. We all are hoping for the best!!

I support what Dave & you say safety is very main point on rally, and this is rental car problems they know you don't have time just push you to have something like that. Do not let them go make sure the shop change the 4 new set of tire or change the another car for your. if not request them to pay all the loss.

Unbelievable how people can get away with that especially if you are a rental car company that rents out Supercars or hyper cars. Plus in Dubai cars are meant to be in pristine condition while on the road, and clearly this guy need to be held accountable. But come on at least give these guys new tires to do 3000 miles on this rally Jesus!

Really unbelievable that the rental company gave you guys a car in that condition at all, but knowing it was for Gumball 3000 is absolutely ridiculous. At least all of us know who NOT to rent a car from if we go to Dubai. Hopefully All of the RU-vidrs get some of this on their vlogs too. I had the same issues when I was in Dubai a month ago and rented a car! The company delivered the 1st car and the seatbelt wasn’t working fully locked up and the driver had the audacity to ask me if I’m happy to drive it as it is 😂 they then gave me a replacement car which 1 day later had the same issue! Advice to anyone going to Dubai, don’t rent a car at all from exotic places

Welcome to the Middle East. Lived there 18 years and not surprised. As Dave said, everything lacks accountability. If you don’t ask they won’t tell. Nothing worse than safety on the line but the people won’t care because it’s not their fault. Hope you guys figure it out.

The Burj Khalifa is out of the blue, you can catch the sunset twice, once from the bottom and once on the last floor 😂. The Urus is needed for the luggages, hopefully they make it there safely 😂. I buy and rebuild bikes. I do ridiculous speeds because it's a part of riding. I would NEVER take a vehicle out on bald / old tyres but, I did once, at the track. Because some part of me thought it'd be okay since the tyres had plenty of tread... It wasn't. I wrecked the bike at 120 because it just didn't grip. Tyres are your only contact to the ground, take a chance on them you take a chance with your life. Glad you guys didn't stand for that!

Dubai has a very strict policy when it comes to scamming or unlawfull behaviour from companies. (convieniently forgetting labor laws). If you have any of this in writing you could contact the authorities. if not this is going to suck...

I work for a tire shop and a difference in DOT doesn’t necessarily mean one tire has less grip or quality most of the time unless you have a great relationship with the a manufacturer you probably won’t get 2022 tires for at least the first 6-7 month of the year at least in Canada

I'm nervous for you guys. ANY negativity to locals in UAE can get you into a world of trouble. I had a mate toot his horn at someone who had blocked a driveway. He ended up in a verbal altercation with the guy (a local) and spent the night in jail. He had his passport taken away. Get new tyres on that car and chalk the rest up to experience.

Ugh, one of the biggest pains in the ass when traveling to other countries, getting a problem of ANY sort fixed. You definitely understand how and why other countries can be so far behind us in practically every way possible when it’s time to get something handled and you see this complete lack of urgency and creative thinking/problem solving. Right away you realize that if your issue does get fixed, it’s going to take days maybe weeks and possibly 5 more people. Now you wish you were home in the U.S. because you know the issue would be handled in 15 minutes. 👍👌

Damon & Dave, you can NOT compare the way they conduct business in Dubai with what you're used to here in North America. Dubai is much like Las Vegas in the 50's from what my friend who lives there has told me for the last 25 years. Also you should NOT plan on "shenanigans", they're extremely strict there. Plus you should have asked Mr. JWW to help get you a car. I hope all goes well. 🙏
