the part at 3:01 is hard to hear without headphones but they said a queue in on when people should enter loud enough for it to be in the video so presumably the audience heard it too. #professionalism
I thought illegal Heathers was bad, but then this just- i am so glad to be in the theatre community while this happened. Im sure it will become an urban legend over time.
honestly I saw a production of Hamilton not scamiton, illegal hamiton yes there is difference.there were kids ages 8-10 doing a church production of Hamilton and it was better then this. mind you that these were kids scamiton was grown adults.
@@kemzokozume OH MY GOD IF YOUVE NEVER SEEN ILLEGAL HEATHERS YOU NEED TO LOOK IT UP ITS SO FUNNY (its a highschool that did an unlicensed production of Heathers all by themselves, no theatre teachers or anything, and everything imagineable goes wrong)
Grammer check: your and you’re, your is a possessive pronoun “your cat is getting fat”, you’re is short for you are “you’re not a clown you’re the whole ass circus”, I hope this helps and is not taken too negatively also great comment. 😂🤣😂
The fact that this show actually had a budget somehow makes it worse. Like, at least with illegal Heathers it was a high school production and the sets and costumes definitely reflected that fact. This performance had decent sets, decent costumes, and SOME decent actors, but the lack of motivation from a majority of the performers, poor casting, and the insufferable insertion of Jesus into the story, makes this one of the worst theater productions I've ever scene.
As a theatrical lighting technician, I must say the lighting design is one of the most striking things about this production. By that I mean it looks absolutely awful. People are constantly in darkness for no reason and some truly baffling choices were made.
@@Noxic72 yes. As were several other characters. Eliza was played by an Asian woman, if I remember correctly. The conversion of the character into a blonde white girl specifically, however, carries certain… connotations. Especially when applied to the filter of an evangelical church, if what I’m seeing is to be believed.
@@Calleigh979 I do, however, Hamilton as a show gained a degree of notoriety because of the casting of 99% POC actors, with one of the only exceptions being King George. Not to mention, said white girl can barely sing, so it makes one thing that there’s a non zero chance that she got the role because of either off-stage chemistry with the kid playing Hamilton (combined with weird church stuff), or they wanted to have a person usually portrayed by a black woman be played by the Aryan poster girl. Who also can’t sing.
i know this is controversial, but i’m so happy scamilton exists. reminds me of the good ol’ days of illegal heathers. when the musical theater fandom was at it’s peak.
@@simplyxbananatysmfor3009 it’s because she’s married to the actor who plays hamilton, very religious church so he couldn’t be shown as having a differnt woman as his wife in the play
Lmao, if they want to take out all the sin related stuff they literally have to take out half the play. You know, cause the play is real life. People sin, people fuck up, people cuss as a form of expression and emphasis, people give in to vices, people do wrong, and people lust. It’s all a part of what makes us human. You can’t take that crap out or you end up with someone who is too perfect. Someone who lacks flaws. Which isn’t possible. Furthermore, the whole “I put my faith is Jesus. If you’d just let him in…” line makes a lot more sense to say to someone with a sinful and fucked up life than to someone who seems perfect.
If they wanted to put Jesus into Hamilton, they should have just done it all with Veggietales. Veggietales could take almost any story, retell it send a message about god, and still make it good.
I just want to say that I'm pretty sure that not all (if not most) are kids- Apperently the ppl playing Eliza and Alexander are married (someone had said they were 19 but I'm not actually sure if that's their age)
@@ShurikanBladeik this is a year old but i think they might actually be (or at least engaged), in say no to this eliza's actor also plays maria and iirc it was bc they didn't want alex's actor kissing someone he wasn't with since it allegedly went against some rule of the church
I am crying because of all the zooming in on the dancing, I have literally only seen people talk about the singing so somehow I never noticed how funny it is 😭😭
it hurts my eyes. some kids have potential but just. They dont rlly seem interested most of the time, the whole cast isnt. it couldve been good. But now its just, no, just no.
I feel so bad for the actors and actresses, you can tell they were struggling to hit certain notes- i feel like there shouldve at least been voice teachers to help for practice before the actual performance.

If I’m being honest, besides Burr, I like Lafayette/Jefferson and Mulligan/Maddison. There’s a few things needing for improvement of course, but I really like their performances. It seemed like when he played Jefferson he tried some of his own things while playing the role Daveed made of Jefferson.
the person who plays Mulligan is different from the person who plays Madison in this musical. The actor for mulligan actually doesnt show up again after act 1 ends
@@ShurikanBlade Yea, I watched the other act after and I don’t get why they couldn’t reuse that guy, I mean. He was good as Mulligan, but maybe he was unfit for playing Maddison when they were selecting the roles?
I honestly had so much fun watching this, some of them were decent singers who just need some training and direction. It was also just kind of hilarious.
