This has been the oldest scam on Facebook marketplace. All you have to do is say where can we meet. I will pay cash, and you will see quickly it is a scam. As they will make all kinds of excuses. Always remember, if the price is too good to be true, it is a scam.

I've bought and sold many times on Facebook Marketplace - always and ONLY with in-person, direct transfer of cash for goods or vice versa. It's great for local transactions. But there's simply no protections for online/remote sales. Only a sucker would think so. At the very least he should have paid with PayPal to have some record/protection. NOTE: I did bail on Facebook this year. The trash I kept being subjected to became too much. Facebook is a cesspool.

If you see something that's usually expensive being shown as a cheap price on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace, then that should be considered a trap, because once you pay that low price they'll keep asking you to pay more and more money, then at the end of the day you get nothing and realized you've been scammed. Don't trust low prices on stuff that would usually be expensive, because it could be a trap to get you to pay that low price just to get you to pay more and more money, and then you end up with nothing at the end.

My husband had just died and my 2006 van with 90000 miles stalled I and paid total of $330.00 in towing fees and $900.00 mechanic costs. The van still would stall even with a new fuel pump and it's dangerous. I would have taken $800.00 cash for it in a minute. Junked it for $420.00.

even on Ebay they protect the Seler not the Buyer, I found this seller post 2 dance shoe I buy the one dance shoe for $60 I tracking and they show delivery , I received nothing, I wait for 2 days still don't received anything, I contact the Seller she willing give me other shoe which I don't like the style she offer sending replace for me shoe that I don't like , I ask to return my money, I check with USPS since I know the mail man I ask him do I have any packages he said whole week you don't have packages just letter, so I contact the Ebay, they told me the seller did send to me already that mean they lost in the mail, they award the seller I lost my money from that moment I never buy in Ebay any more. In this case, the "Army ID" was bogus. Anyone actually in the military would probably have caught it, but those who are not familiar with ID cards likely would not have. The "grade" was missing an "E" (should have been E-5, SGT, not "5, SGT") and normally the service is listed, the branch isn't. It would have said "Army" and that would have been it. The "Special Forces" part is not on an ID card.

Most people would scroll past that, because they know it’s a scam. $800 for a $12,000 to $16,000 truck? C’mon man!
