Scammell pioneers playing at war and peace 

They're an absolute beast and very cool to look at!

Did my apprenticeship in 1970 to 75, and we had one of these as our heavy recovery vehicle, great bit of kit

Fantastic articulation on that 2-spring rear suspension and the axle attachment must be very well designed to allow so much roll at the same time. Does the flag proud. Excellent UK engineering.

My grandad was in REME TA and he was out in Cyprus in 1963 they had about five, six or seven scammells all explorers and my grandad drove one and towed a trailer on back they also drove a Second World War Pioneer and it broke down it was dilapidated and they couldn’t repair it and Captain told them to leave it on a mountain a they did.

Definitely more flexible than a deuce and a half.

My great grandad drove one in El Alamein Egypt in ww2.

Those Scammells are beautifully engineered truck/tractors, a bit big for Sydney streets.
