@@CutThroatCat Triology is not logical. They're highly emotional whenever a woman, edlerly, or non-white race person/man is involved. They give the benefit of doubt to all those categories, which is essentially a form of racism because treating someone like a victim just because of their age (past 18-21), gender, or race is essentially saying, "You're too dumb to understand what you're going through, so we'll help you and take care of you." Nah, treat everyone the same. I look at people as stick figures so I treat them equally and only judge them based on their actions alone.

That $7,000 was yet _another_ scam she fell for. Scammers target vulnerable people such as Carol who are not good with financial choices. She probably got stuck in the puppy-purchase scam _before_ the bankruptcy.

I'm not sure that Carol is a true victim... She seems insincere. She was full of confidence at the beginning, and talked about doing pickups twice a week. Then, when she realized it was a setup, all of a sudden she's never done it before and the water works start. She just doesn't seem sincere.

This is why you don't "respect your elders" and give elders the benefit of doubt. Plenty of dumb@$$ adults and elderly out there that are far too gone and self-righteous and entitled to change their behavior until they're caught with blood on their hands and then all of a sudden they start acting like a victim like a 5 year old who's caught stealing or hitting their brother. Not to mention how she's in bankruptcy and can't set up more bank accounts, which is sketchy because she might've gone into bankruptcy because of scammers before, but if that's not the case and it's just because of debt, she still never learned anything from bankruptcy because she's trying to get a puppy that she's never seen in person. Thus the cycle continues. You can't just wipe someone's slate clean of debt or give them a magic pill to fix their problems because they'll just continue to rack up debt or continue the same behavior that got them unhealthy in the first place. Triology really only thinks with their hearts and emotions, not much logic involved. Just like that one female scammer they caught, they gave her little to no accountability and put it all on her husband, essentially infantilizing the woman as if women can't make their own decisions, which is just sexist. They act like they're not sexist or racist, but sometimes their own behavior in treating someone like a woman or black person immediately as a victim is just racism or sexism. And that's what a lot of scammers want. They want to be victims in the eyes of the law or catchers so they can get away with it. This is why you need to treat everyone exactly the same. Erase their skin color and genitals from your mind. Treat them like a stick figure. That's the most neutral stance you can view a person as. Let their actions speak for them and then judge them based on their actions. All stick figures look essentially the same.

And she really didn't know what was in the package, when they do the call in front of her boss she asks if she can go inside the package and the man tells her no it's just documents. So it's very obvious that she didn't know what was in the package and she wasn't allowed to open it. She could very well be telling the truth.

She's a victim, but not anymore. I think she started out as a victim, but then willingly started to help the scammers. She probably thought "if I do their jobs, I will get all my money back and then some." She sounds like she knew "something" was up with the pick-ups she's been doing. She mentioned in the beginning she picked up a bunch of stuff for the scammers, and earned a solid amount of money, too. She's complicit and knew she was doing something bad...but I respect her acknowledgement of remorse! That's the first step.

@@isabel5066my advice is to question a lot of stuff. Always hang up and call the real company or visit in person. Or even better, don’t pick up and search for the number online! Try to be save online and don’t click random links. Question people’s behavior, if it’s too good to be true, then delete and block and stuff like that. Just do research is the best advice I can give and I’m young. Scams are only gonna get more advanced, might start being careful before it’s too late

The whole video is a cluster f and she is the centerpiece for why that is. a.) she was shouting at the wrong person. The mule guy was a dope, but she didn’t realize he wasn’t the scammer. He was probably in on it but it’s clear she thought he was the scammer and for some reason Art and Ashton went along with it. b.) that old lady clearly knew more than she let on and was just covering their ass. Art and Ashton need to not entertain attention wh*res like Chappy because it makes scambaiting look like an excuse for adults to behave like children.

I could see it either way with these details. If she was that scared then why? Did she know she was up to no good or is there another reason?

"When you get home, I'll let you open it and look at the documents." She's not innocent. She was quick to panic. She immediately understood what they were telling her and immediately cried - not because she was realising the terrible thing she had a hand in, but because she was caught. An innocent person would have been in disbelief and would have tried to explain the "innocent" situation. She was quick to show all info to Trilogy. The male scammer sounded far, FAR more comfortable with her on the phone. Like they were friends and business partners. She admitted to being paid good. She admitted she had done this so many times. Refusing to tell them what she did with the package once receiving it. I dont know how to feel about this episode. They basically were shoving her a get out of jail free card, telling her it wasn't her fault and they could pin it on the male scammer. They need interrogation and body language training if they continue to do this. It just feels like I am watching two amatures butcher a crime investigation.

Not trained, know close to nothing else other than what we saw in those videos- and it was painfully clear she was 1,000% guilty. Seeing all these comments of people saying "We love you Carol" and "Oh that poor woman." is really shocking. People need to stop being so gullible- and I'd like to know who did the subtitles, because they forgot to quote what the scammer REALLY said. Admitting that she could look at the "documents" when she gets home. For anyone who needs a timestamp: 43:52 "When you get home... You open it, and I'll let you look at it- all the documents there. Okay?" They need training. That is something they should have dived into. Not taking the phone and threatening the scammer right after. This just helps scammers get better, this doesn't solve any issues or do anything useful. A good example of doing an ACTUAL good job, is what Kitboga does, and who he partners with. They actually shut down hundreds of bank accounts, find scammer HQ's, all that.

My mother in law did all this but instead of a dog she thought it was a boyfriend. She was giving money, gift cards, mailing cash to a money mule, totally believed she was going to get PCH winnings. Said she wanted to buy my daughter a car 🙄. She gave away all her money and had to sell her house. She sent him money she got from the sale of her house. She started sending her Social Security. Refused to listen to anyone. She’s ruined her life. Her health has deteriorated since then and she’s in a shitty nursing home now. She’s not a good person so I think some Karma is at play.

This is why you don't respect someone just because they're older. That whole "Respect your elders" phrase has given adults and elderly far too much self-righteousness and entitlement to think that younger people are smarter than them. Statistically speaking, children and the younger generation will ALWAYS become smarter than their parents. It's called evolution of society and the mind. Nobody's children will ever be the same as their parents. Children will always end up learning better things than their parents. That's what you want, but too many adults want to indoctrinate children instead of letting them flourish.

Amazing work. Carol was a victim however she did know that something wasn’t quite right and still did it. Desperate times make people do desperate things. And the criminals know how to manipulate. Especially elderly on multiple blood pressure meds sleep meds etc.

My dad fell for this crap about 15 years ago. The scammers sent a pair of shoes and a physical check to him and then said it was an accident but needed him to cash the check ASAP. I dont think he cashed the check but i was pretty young and im not sure. I made sure to explain to him what internet scams are before i even knew what they were 😂. thank you so much for what you do. !!!
