Scammers frequently try to claim they only do it to help poor/sick family members, to pay for education, etc. and that is just about always a lie. Nearly all of them are of a middle-class background.

Scammers see how easy it is for baiters to make money from scambaiting videos and realise that the more they try to scam people, the more money they make for people like Kit ! They also realise that there are a lot of people already making decent money from scambaiting videos which leads more people to try to make them ! It must be incredibly frustrating for them to sit there for hours on end trying to scam innocent people and getting abusive calls and scambaiting calls that waste lots of time then realising that people are making a decent living from videos about them ! Either way though they caught on to who he was at 10:00. Could've been any number of things, using a troll name from a popular TV show, his usual format of wasting their time, his voice, his accent. Scammers aren't idiots, they're just immoral - they've probably caught on to the popularity of scam baiting RU-vidrs and started paying attention

Encourage them to contact their Bank as well as the scammers keep telling them not to speak to their Bank yet hearing it from you will reinforce that it is the right thing to do. If they do they will discover that the transfers were really their own money moving from one account to another and that they are only attempting to buy gift with their own money. No purchase of gift cards = no lost money.
