I'm gonna keep saying this on every video, but my goodness, Arty and InvisibleManProductions are a match made in heaven. God tier editing for god tier Brood War content.
Scan is literally the most lovable human. Like, you hear him and just wish he was your friend ya know, but he's Artosis' friend and that's close enough. :)
You know ASL is impossible for a foreigner when scan himself isn't even a regular. And he's basically semi-pro that gets to practice with pro's anytime he wants to.
@@XUndergroundRap "No parents visible from the pitch" policy in my region really helped in my childhood. Sadly it wasn't universal so I know what you both mean, and yeah it's worse than retail or food industry.
Scan might be right about foreign players never getting as good as Koreans in SCBW but I want to preface this that there is a lot of subtle (often not so subtle) superiority from Koreans and Japanese people about their abilities and capabilities compared to other peoples. It's something that is often just believed to be true in these regions without enough evidence to make such claims.
Read this comment section. Bunch of dumb Mexicans thinking scan is some mid level ladder player and typing huge paragraphs about how he doesn't understand the game
Well, 4 zerglings, 2 marines and 1 zealot all cost same supply so Protoss should have a bit smaller army which should be easier to control. Single probe can build the whole expansion and 20 cannons so it's also easier. Cannons shoot both air and ground so it's easier to defend. Storm is pretty good, Reavers are strong, DTs are strong.... I think it might be the skill ceilling, what can Protoss do to be "even better"? Is it just the skill ceilling or something else? Why don't we see Bisu and Snow constantly destroying everyone with imba Protoss?
@@zlac Yeah, the skill ceiling would not be an issue if everyone had time to practice 24/7. But given a limited amount of time to practice, choosing the least skill intensive race can make a difference in your tournament results.
Well I have to admit that Zerg and Protoss tech tree in Broodwar is much easier than Terran's. Terrans just have too many options and buildings in Broodwar. Building up to max supply is also harder because Zerg can produce 3 units per hatchery at once and Protoss minimal supply cost for combat unit is 2.
great vid! Scan is so smart and wholesome. Also! wanted to see this for awhile but the ending screen for the vids just feels off. Have another stylized background from early gaming era. The Channel is about starcraft and RT, so like maybe galaxy themed stuff. idk. (just honest feedback)
Always enjoyed you two playing side-by-side. Some of the best entertainment. Arty, where can I download some recent replays? Everything I'm finding is old. Got any good spots I can hit up?
ASL is basically an incestuous groupjerk. Makes for great games, but if you aren't part of the group you don't get to train properly for it. And those koreans? Incredibly sticky hands.
Arty! Amazing content. Its great to watch scan giving out his thoughts on the starcraft ladder and levels. Also, his vibe is amazingly clear and honest.
To be professional in anything, you can't enjoy it, that's what it all comes down to. It has to be something you hate and do constantly until it's muscle memory and you hate it, and nowhere else in the world could people do that but Korea when it comes to a video game. Just because the money is there.
They make nothing. But googling stuff is harder than typing out some bullshit on RU-vid to show everybody you're a moron. Do you always take the easy way out?
its not about winning its about being apart of it. A pro player doesnt matter where you come from is still a pro player and being involved in any way even if you are the worst player is still an achievement
@@ManCubuSSC of course it would take years. And the skills between the games are somewhat transferable, these guys are miles beyond someone like artosis, scarlett or the best foreigner bw players right now in terms of skill.
Ah yes sc2 the dead game where APM is literally fake. The game they tried to force down our throats for 10 years and everyone still went back to brood war. It's sad because I know you're not joking but you are, in fact, a joke 😂
they found out the solution in 10 minutes because they're better than you who spent a hour. at the higest levels of talent, not dumbasses on the ladder, not old ass streamers who can't climb, at the -highest levels of talent- there is a balance difference. its clear. there is no need for me to point out which race is the best race at the highest levels of talent AND dedication. its just funny that in this game, somehow, when it comes to the midwits, it's actually the opposite. so they bathe in that. clean yourself properly.
Brother that's scan. He has qualified for asl more than once. He's a top pro and one of the best players in the world by far. Anyone who reads this is imagining you drooling on your keyboard He's one of the few pros who knows English and has blessed artisos and all his viewers with in house coaching on stream. The videos with him are some of the best English content available for learning
@@bakaraymoo7389 do you think I got here randomly? I know who he is. Did you read what I said?... It's one thing for artosis to say Terran is so much more work, but a pro player its too much... just tired of it
so arty is trying to say its harder to play terran because if it's complexity. ok, well that's just like comparing someone using notepad vs someone using excel. yeah sure, focus on the complexity of all the formulas and how you have to know how they work, plus the adage of having to learn how to use excel. but that isn't the point is it. people do all that extra stuff because it makes it not only easier but saves time. you have two people using two different tools to complete the same task. one person is vastly limited in their ability and capped as far as options for strategic conclusions. terrans are the excel sheet. you have a world of formulas at your disposal. your tool was designed specifically for the task its being used for. that means its easier for your shit help you to achieve the expected consusion than someone, that's limited in their options. here's another way of putting it. protoss can only come to the same conclusion or solution using integers in a string of 10 numbers. terrans can come to the same exact conclusion or solution using any set of numbers or combinations within a string a 10 numbers. one is highly limited in options, while the other has "infinite" possibilities for formulating an equation that will provide the desired conclusion, left up to the minds imagination as all limiting factors have been removed. really though, if the other races were so easy, you would have been switched over a long time ago and gotten into a position to become pro and then switched back to the race you suck most at. the other two are easy to you , remember? which leaves the obvious conclusion meaning you suck at terran the most.
P and T both have sky high skill ceilings (Z as well). P just has a lower skill floor. The skill floor is lower for two reasons. 1: Less APM and multitasking required. 2: If both players are weak, Protoss wins. At low level, Protoss can just do things, and people just die. Low risk high reward noobkiller tactics like proxy gates, carriers, recalls, counterattacking, etc, take more work to defend against than to perform, while Terran's only low risk high reward mistake punisher is running around with vultures. This is not a problem at high level, which is why every race consistently makes it to top 8, top 4, top 2 in tournaments. To me, it's not even a problem in general. I'm past the point at which Protoss has an advantage, and when I wasn't, I had a choice: play the easier race, or not, but in either case, there was no reason to whine. I knew what I signed up for in either case. If you want to talk about possibilities, Protoss have more of them than Terran. There are more viable styles and unit compositions in PvT than there are in TvP. This doesn't mean that Protoss is stronger, however. More diversity is a good thing. StarCraft would be improved by giving everyone more options, rather than taking any away. It's not accurate to say that either race is favoured in PvT, because we have racial statistics of sponsored Korean matches (high level gameplay) and they are very good. There are maps that slightly favour T (55%), maps that slightly favour P (55%), and maps that are right down the middle (50%). There are some significantly imbalanced maps, but that only means that those maps are imbalanced, not the game in general.
