The Scania BF111 buses were common on Tanzanian roads in the 1970s and early 1980s. The sound of their powerful 11-litre engines was just awesome!

I did not know Scanny offered the Self Changings Gears Semi Auto as an option on their BF111 a really cool bus, like a cross between an AEC Regal 2 and a Bedford SB on weed. Lovely smooth jerk free gear changes, like the driver cares about the motor he is driving, wow think cats& kittens a Scanny 111 powered Bristol VRT, that really set the tongues a wagging.

Ilmankos oli tuttu ääni. Noilla tuli aikanaan reissattua Lähderannan linjoilla. A very familiar sound. I rode on thes buses numerous times when they were in regular service-

Nostalgiset fiilikset tästä...vrt Linjamatka Oy, Juhanilan Linja Oy ja muut etelä-Espoon bussiliikennöitsijät menneiltä vuosilta!....silloin kun bussissa oli tunnelmaa :-)

1era vez que escucho un Scania con caja neumocíclica eléctrica. Me recuerda a los Leyland de los '50, '60 y '70, los Aclo del '63 y los Volvo de los '80 y '90 que circularon aquí en Montevideo.

En Argentina hubo con Caja Wilson entre 1963 a 1969 en el Scania Vabia B76 motor delantero. Hubo 3 tipos distintos. En 1963 y 1964 torre neumatica tipo Leyland sobre el lado izquierdo. En 1965 y gran parte de 1966 la misma torre pero del lado derecho y a 45 grados del conductor , con un motor de 190 HP. En 1966 casi a fin vino con un tablero totalmente renovado dejando atras aquel rectangular antiguo y con la Caja Wilson electroneumatica con un motor de 195 HP hasta 1969 inclusive. Una JOYA de modelo en TODO SENTIDO DE LA PALABRA. De la toda historia completa tanto de Scania Vabis o de Saab Scania esta en EL PODIO DE LOS MEJORES MODELOS. UNICOS E IRREMPLAZABLES. Tuve la Suerte no solo de viajar con estos, sino tambien en Conducir uno Modelo 1965 Ex Expreso Buenos Aires

Toi Scanian saundi on tosi jyree ja magee. Mun isoisä ajo bussia Lahdesta Turkuun 25 vuotta, ja olin pikkujätkänä messissä. Ekat laitteet oli 60-luvun Scanja alustoilla ja toi ääni on jäänyt mulle mieleen. Siinä on jotain perin miehekästä.

Is he letting the revs drop a bit too much before shifting to the next gear? That "Clunk" when he does engage a gear shouldn't be there. Yes I am very familiar with this type of gear box, I started as a Bus Driver in 1978 and all the buses had Wilson gear boxes. / B.
